I assuming that with the horsham plenum spacer containing "Alloy Strut Bar Spacers" that it doesnt that it doesnt fit with the strut set up as standard - does this cause any issues with the bonnet? No plenum spacer will fit under the normal strut bar as there isn't enough clearance when one is fitted. This is because with the plenum spacers installed it lifts the plenum top upwards so they all use strut bar spacers to give the clearance needed. This will cause no issues with the bonnet whatsoever. Who is the best for remapping the 350z? There are plenty of decent garages around the UK that can do the mapping & sometimes it just comes down to location for who you use. I personally used Horsham Developments but there are others like Abbey Motorsports, TDI North, Dyna Tune & others. What is it Banz? Like a HPI check then.

See I knew it, ...that's just mental how quick even the "slow" bikes are. Have fun and another bit of advice, from my Uncle who rides bikes who told me this years ago: Watch out for man hole covers & those metal strips in the road (like on the Severn Bridge crossing) as they are lethal in the wet.

Before the remap (UpRev)... HFC's (High Flow Cats) or De-Cats. Plenum spacer ~ you mentioned Motordyne but for a lot less you get a Horsham Developments plenum spacer (will do the same job) Link: http://h-dev.co.uk/product/h-dev-350z-intake-plenum-spacer-kit-vq35de/?v=79cba1185463 Other things to make you go faster... Oil change ~ you'd be surprised but this can gain you a few extra HP especially if your oil is really old & in need of a change. Better tyres & suspension upgrades. Weight reduction.

Cheer's dude. if I'm honest it's more of a 600cc sport bike lite. it's only 87bhp most proper 600 super sports are 100-120bhp, but it's enough to scare me anything 7000 rpm plus The thing I do know about bikes though is that even the "slow" ones are fast, ...well when compared to car performance that is. What's the 0-60 on that then? My guess is sub 5 seconds.

It's flippin' BS isn't it. I was speaking to a Police officer the other day about some illegal motor bikers around our area. Basically a few guys who ride scramblers illegally on the road, ...you know the type I'm sure; no number plates, no insurance, no lights/indicators, no tax and to make it even more fun they decide to hop on the pavement whenever they feel like it & pop wheelies like they're impressing people who see them. The Police officer told me that there is nothing they can do unfortunately ~ they used to have a Police off-road bike unit/team but after a health & safety assessment the unit/team was disbanded as it was deemed to much of a H&S risk for them to ride the bikes in pursuit of other bikers! Wtf!! The normal Police patrol cars apparently aren't allowed to pursue them either or at least they are until it becomes too dangerous for the illegal biker then the pursuit is called off in case the illegal biker gets hurt. Bonkers. So basically the illegal bikers have free reign to do WTF they want.

I'm not a bike guy at all but I can appreciate a good looking fast machine & that looks like one to me. Enjoy it Steve & ride safe.

appreciate this but nothing for the 1.6 engine Ahhrghh bummer. What about asking "race parts for sale" as I know he gets stuff from Japan & I'd bet there is loads of stuff available for it in Japan. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/231-race-parts-for-sale/

Now there's a nice motor. Awesome upgrade.

You could always PM them all with a link to this thread. I'm always busy. Just having a week off work now though so I can put more time in on here, ...it's either this or DIY and I'm so sick of painting at the moment.

There is a thicker boot carpet as below... Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/78125-genuine-350z-boot-mat-and-nissan-boot-cover-hide/ My 350 already had one in it though when I bought it but some don't. Your best bet is probably to try some decent sound deadening material like Dynamat or 3M's version. Both can be found on eBay or the net and are self adhesive so very easy to install yourself.

Guide here for you griff in case you get stuck. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/103472-how-to-add-your-photos-to-the-forum/ Good luck with your Zed build.

Have you asked Adrian@TORQEN?, Chris@TarmacSportz or Mitz@theCougarStore? Those 3 would be my first choices to ask for this type of thing. All professional traders on here as I'm sure you're aware.

Drone I the rain! I haven't heard of that before. Wonder how that would happen. Have not used any sound deadening it's s before so no help from me. Sorry. I used to get that with my custom stainless steel exhaust on my EP3 Civic Type R when it rained, ...it used to kind of resonate through the underneath of the car. Not exactly sure why some exhausts do this & I know it happens on lots of different vehicles with the common denominator always being an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust. Maybe the steel shrinking & expanding due to sudden temperature changes when the water hits it?? Who knows! If yours is doing it then you could try sound deadening material in the boot or the thicker 350Z boot carpet mat (if you don't already have it) but you may still get the drone resonating through the floor as that's what was happening on my Civic at the time. Good luck JK.

Ahhh that's annoying Commander. Fingers crossed they sort the problems ASAP for you.

It depends really. I've had a stainless steel custom made system in the past (Longlife) but then they were around half the price of a decent system for that car at the time and cheaper than an OEM mild steel system so it made sense to me then. Tbh £700 is probably a fair price considering all the pipe bending, welding and the fitting involved & in the sense that its most likely what other custom exhaust places would charge for what they do but imho it's still too much money. For example you could buy a Buddy Club Pro system for similar money which will have at least had some money spent on R&D by Buddy Club researching exhaust gas flow etc. Link: http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_10&products_id=98 For less money (£400-£450 odd) you could get a Cobra exhaust system, ...not a "Cat to back" system mind but still depends on what you're after. If your OEM Y-pipe is in decent shape then you may want to save the extra cash. Personally I'd always go Cat to back at the very least. Obviously you will have to pay for fitting then with any aftermarket exhaust but tbh it shouldn't be all that much. Maybe an hour or so tops depending on how rusted the OEM bolts are & how competent the mechanic is. Oh and as for them getting it to sound as you want well that can be a bit hit & miss. It might sound just how you want at first but then after a few hundred miles it will coke up and the sound will change (quite a bit sometimes). The sound changing after the exhaust has coked up though is true of any system though. Just food for thought.

The other exhaust system I've always loved the sound of is the Motordyne but it's "slightly" above your budget unfortunately. Just to give you an idea though of the sound of it....

^^ This imo. Had one on my old Zed and was great imo ~ no drone to my ears as far as I could tell on motorways anyway.
-
All of which is fair enough and I totally get the feeling of not being at one with the car, ....I had the same thing with my FN2 CTR which is why I only had that for just under a year. Just approved your FS advert now so fingers crossed it'll sell soon enough for you. The BMW 330D M Sport ~ if what I'm thinking is right they're pretty quick from what I remember reading so that should still be a fun car even if it is a diesel.
