  1. UPDATE Got the car checked over yesterday and no damage underneath. There was a bit of a dent on a support plate towards the rear but not convinced the ramp did that - the drivers side skirt is a bit of a mess though and cracking on the wheel arch So just the body shop and the estimate was £362. Passed that to Brittany Ferries and have just got the OK to go ahead so all good Think I might get a skid plate fabricated for the low points before the skirt gets refitted !
  2. # I'm on my second one - they tend to twist and bugger up !
  3. If you are swapping the triple gauges to UK - don't forget to do the heater brain same time
  4. JDM can have a 112mph restriction - although mine didn't but had the uprev done for other reasons . There's a heap of information on the differences on the forums - one interesting thing to note is the JDM's tend not to be under sealed so just a thought as we come into winter/salt etc JDM's have flares ( couldn't resist that!)
  5. I first met Martin in 1989 in The Falklands then brought together again 25 years later through the power of Zed on this forum. You may think Martin was a Zed fan but I know better and will always as an FNG, remember getting a ride with him up to The Death Star sat in the Pink Pig which roughly translated is - I was just posted into the Port Troop and needed a lift to the complex at RAF Mount Pleasant and he gave me a lift in a 1/2 tonne Land Rover painted pink and complete with a curly tail. Great Times and too many late nights, and plates of scouse. Happy memories of a wonderful human being it was an honour to have known
  6. Jeez I have one of these - I forgot all about it. they had excellent hardware but let down a bit with the OS - typical BlackBerry. It was made for the new OS 10 they pushed out on the better phone but then BB pulled the plug on the playbook. They were pretty expensive when launched 1080p display and you can output. shame really a great product that was let down by poor software. Good Luck with the sale
  7. I'm likely to be heading overseas next year - work transfer , so wont be able to arrange Wales 2016 . I did mention this at the event so this would be a good change if no-one steps in. If it all turns to custard on a work level would love to attend.
  8. Took the car over to France last week for a final big run before the enforced winter season. Was a work trip and had one the guys from Singapore with me, Ferry over and Eurotunnel back - quick hop Booked the car with Brittany Ferries Portsmouth to Le Havre. Those that have seen my car will now she's a little low but not super low mainly from the skirts. Did the normal notification, Notes in the booking car is lowered etc, told the receptionist on check in , Then told the land side lane marshal , who advised me to take the ramp at an angle and basically didn't seem that interested . I put that down to the hundreds of lowered cars that must make the annual trip to Le Mans. All seemed OK so just followed the car in front. Went over the rear ramps nice and steady no problems, then the fun started- the ramp marshal directed me up the steeper ramp to the car deck - I did again point out car is low but the French crew waved me on, Again no problems going up the ramp but at the at the top... CRUNCH !!!!!. Skirts grounded badly - so bad couldn't drive forward. Top deck marshal appears from nowhere screaming down his radio. Loading stops the 9 or so cars behind all have to reverse down - that was more fun and I nurse the Zed down to the lorry deck with some other cars ( where it should have been in the first place.) Front lip is untouched but drivers side skirts has take a whack - you can't see it from the side but badly damaged from underneath. Once on board went to reception and they advised I needed to speak to the loading officer who by now was aware there had been a problem. However its was 11pm and I was exhausted having flown in from Germany to pick up the car then drive to Portsmouth. I did bang off a mail to customer services voicing my displeasure. Following morning after the rest of the cars had discharged, the deck officer came over and was very apologetic and admitted the car should not have been directed to the top deck. He did a damage report and I have received a mail from Brittany Ferries to get the car inspected and obtain an estimate. I am tempted to go Main Dealer as one but will use my normal guy as well, mainly as he knows the car so well. So at this stage I don't see the point in involving the Insurance company and fingers crossed its going to be a bit of filler and partial respray. I did drive the car back to Calais - no issues with exhaust etc. The weather was dreadful so had to take it very carefully. I haven't reviewed the dash cam footage of the ferry load yet - might be too painful to watch ! More to follow......
  9. I was on the recent Sonos Beta test for true play. They are very good bits of kit.
  10. +1 on Fallout 4 and then Battlefront a few weeks after
  11. Mudman

    Finally .....

Mine came with 17" wheels so picked up a set of 18" Rays from a forum member for £375 in pretty good nick and legal tyres - popped on 20/25mm spacers and runs fine. The big difference came when I put on MPSS - car then felt planted. So my message would be if you are getting Rays - get a decent set of boots as well - seriously you won't regret it.
  12. Have a Fujitsubo fitted with a loose baffle, Local Mechanic put a kink in the box from the back so you can't see it - did the trick
  13. It's pretty easy to strip out the centre console to get behind the clocks - 20 mins and six bolts, I had a few rattles but some tightening and strategically placed blutack did the trick
  14. Same here - I can get 32 on a hour plus run - 24 if I play - Uprev @ Abbey. Mark did say consumption is improved at the time.
  15. Been away for a month so wrapped that you are doing a rebuild - if you need anything smallish from the US my son is there now in LA - back next week - hie could possibly courier
  16. I have the mirror kit so once I get a combination of decent weather and time to do it will post up my pics
  17. errrr I have his speaker cover !!! Although does ask the question I bought it to cover up some god awful looking FLI subwoofer put in bu the previous owner - Do you think the BOSE OEM would be better ? Knowing BOSE is quality and FLI are a Halfords brand ?
  18. I'm renting a small cottage at the back of one of the manor houses near Hillingdon - We don't get a TV signal ! Too many trees so satellite only Fair play though I do get 3-5 Mbps even here - when the kids are over it chugs a bit but watched the Champions League last night on the BT App - no problems - Mr Griffiths welcome to your high speed internet package is not a message I am likely to hear any time soon
  19. I have the Pioneer App Radio fitted to mine - its a bit of a problem child but recent software updates have made it OK It mirrors the iphone so you can use Waze etc - My Satnav is still there and its good for anywhere in Japan but useless in the UK.
  20. Wot ? no Burberry innit ?
  21. Welcome - Would it not be easier to swap out the existing Bose system and drop something in the cavity ? Would have thought that a satnav would have been of more benefit than having a track displayed. Well at least you would know what track you were listening to when lost There are lots of options available as regards ICE and not that expensive but ripping out a perfectly serviceable OEM satnav is probably not a good move.
  22. Can't realy add anymore to the above sentiments. This one feels like a death in the Zed family, I hope it can be saved as is truly a special car.
