  1. It's all under control, I took out a big loan that will only take me a mere 10 years to pay off, worth it to look cool rolling down the street I'd been waiting for some nice weather for better pics but it looks like it going to be raining for the next week. I still have the spacers to come, need to mod the front number plate and I'm going to color code the sticky out DRLs to make them more pleasing to eye. She's not quite in her final form yet I've fitted the body bits, muds flaps, front spoiler and grille. Also put it in the stereo and reverse camera.
  2. I'm getting quoted £403 from Admiral and other companies! I'm 33, I have 10 years NCB, no accidents or points and have held a licence 16 years. My postcode is not high for crime and a nice area so I'm baffled how some people are getting it so cheap with less NCB and driving years
  3. No, it's a few more things and I'm done....or perhaps a few more then I'm done for sure I also got one of these after I couldn't get hold of a Nismo one. It's a similar style, it's heavy and was only £12 delivered. Looks very nice once fitted. I'll post some pics once my stereo is in.
  4. Come on guys, it's just the bare essentials to tidy her up a bit... At least, that's how I justify it to myself Next to go in.
  5. A hot hatch with a turbo doesn't tick the all boxes like a Z. I didn't buy the Z just to go fast in straight line, I love the looks, sound and the way it drives. I planned to add power before I bought it. Compared to the RX8, it's relatively cheap and much more reliable to go FI. Saying that, the RX8 does handle better BUT it doesn't have as good brakes or as much power so you still can get round the corners as quick, it just feels heavier and less precise. The trouble is, most cars handle pretty well upto the speed the limit so you need to push it quite a bit to loose a half decent driver with equal or more power in the bends which is both dangerous and illegal. Personally, I'd rather just 'measure the size of my dick' off the traffic lights or on a dual carriageway upto the speed limit if I'm having any sort of fun on the roads to keep things as safe as possible. I'll save pushing it hard round the bends for track days.
  6. This is why I got rid my RX8. Everything beat that in straight line including decent 1.9 tdi's. I've found my Z has done very well accelerating upto the speed limit on dual carriageway against anything I've encountered so far and I've accelerated with some cars pushing well over 200bhp with 0-60 times much better than 7.1 secs I do consider myself an awesome shifter though I'm getting the H-Dev engine upgrade package done with all the extras end of this month. Should have about 290ish bhp after that according to H-Dev and more low end torque & power. Then hopefully a Vortech supercharger in about 6-10 months, already got some parts. I didn't buy a Z only to have TDis or Skodas give me hassle!
  7. Thanks for the tips. It was raining heavy yesterday so I couldn't open the door but I will try that next time. I didn't jam a screwdriver in but I will do that too. I've ordered some much better long nose pliers, the ones I had before were worn non-branded needle pliers so I don't think they would have been up for the job anyway. I also ordered a 12mm stubby spanner to see if I can get a bit more leverage on the lock nut. I'll take my laptop and webcam so I use that to see how far the bolt and nut have moved, rather than trying to squeeze my big head all the way in I'll try my best
  8. Thanks for the advice. Would this be how far I have to put my foot down before it's no longer in gear?
  9. I had a new clutch, flywheel, release bearing, hose and slave fitted over 1200 miles ago and I still get a clutch burning smell everytime I drive the car. To drive it feels good. It pulls aways on uphill with no judder and the bite seems to start low when pulling away but I do find it rises a bit too high when changing gear at normal driving speed. I understand the pedal can be adjusted so this might be a separate issue. I'm certain I'm not riding the clutch at all. I can take it back to where it was fitted, I'd just like to know any ideas as to what could be the cause so I can point them in the right direction. Any help appreciated.
  10. I just tried to this mod and after a bit of swearing a sore shoulder I'm not able to do it I can't even budge the lock nut. It's too cramped in their for my skinny but lanky frame and my heads to big Is anyone within about 50 miles or so of the West Midlands willing to do this for me? I would drive to your house and pay you well for your time

  12. Thanks guys. I agree about the DRLs from the side, they don't look great however I love them from the front so that more than makes up for it for me over the old reflectors. Next up are a Ings front lip spoiler and front/rear mud flaps I picked up cheap off Ebay. Just waiting for them back from the body shop
  13. I went for gunmetal grey after seeing the colours on wheels on the day. Very happy with how they turned out and that the company did it all in just under 9 hours. Another place wanted my car for 5 days. Just have to paint the rusty bit on the inner brake disc because it sticks out more now.
  14. I'm not sure about paintballing but if there's a track day or go-karting, count me in I've got some new goodies to fit I'm getting my alloys redone in titanium silver and having new tyres fitted tomorrow. I got some Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas to go on the front and some part-worn (7mm) bridgestone RE050As for the back. Picked up shiny 'Z' tyre caps Also got a Zunsport lower grille to go on soon. How long is it safe to go without eating?
  15. I've worked out that if I get a 2nd job and eat half my normal amount, I can swim all day
  16. They come with a relay. 1 wire to sidelights or low beam. 1 live and 1 earth to power them, then they switch off with your sidelights or low beam. You can get a relay that will dim them with low beam rather turning them off for about £8 but that'll mean taking the bumper off again
  17. The time has come to start adding mods here and there. I ordered some DRLs off ebay for about £80 delivered. They arrived last week. I had to remove the front bumper to wire them up but it wasn't too hard. I've also had the rear windows tinted and fitted I'm getting my alloys done and new tyres fitted this week so there'll be more to come
  18. Thanks, I'll need it. I'll get my rays done for now and keep an eye out some.
  19. I agree. Where did you find them? I bet they were expensive.
  20. Me too! I like the Rotas but they're the business! Do they need spacers?
  21. I think Jonny's and Zesus cars look fine not lowered. I'd be ok with that. I love the alloys on Zesus's car, are they 370Z alloys?
  22. For now, I've decided to get my rays reconditioned in a darker silver or gunmetal. I might get 19s in the future and get the suspension done at the same time. At least now I know what I will need. Thanks for all the replies.
