  1. i've found plenty of LHD but can't find anything for RHD
  2. Thanks. At least I know that's an option. I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from the US, there's a site that will work it out for you customs fees etc. It's £2500 for the same part in the UK so still might work out quite a bit cheaper. My gearbox is ok now though, the noise hasn't got worse and I can only hear it on my quiet drive with the wall right next to it. I can live with it providing it's just a noisy gearbox and not my new clutch fitted wrong. I guess time will tell.
  3. Thanks for the info. Would this one fit straight on?: http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35/product_info.php?cPath=506_569_581&products_id=3342
  4. Thanks, I did supply the correct oil and the changes have improved. It was hard to get into 1st when cold but now it slides in fine. Does anyone know, would a 08 manual gearbox fit my 04 reg manual if I did ever need a new gearbox?
  5. it's an 04 (06/04)Do you know if it will fit? I only thought it would because according to this article it will but he is selling the box: http://www.z1motorsp...roducts_id=3342
  6. I've took it back and they have said it's the gearbox making the noise, it's nothing to worry about. I'm not sure if it was that loud before after a long journey. I've managed to find a gearbox off a 08 reg with 18k for a good price. They said they would fit it for £100 as a goodwill gesture. I think I'll do it as isn't this an improved gearbox?
  7. No it was a LUK flywheel. Does your flywheel always sound like that? Since having my parts fitted (clutch, flywheel, slave, clutch line) this is what happens: Difference in idle sound when clutch is not pressed down when engine is cold. A ‘whirling’ sound can be heard which goes away when you press the clutch. Sound gets progressively gets louder as the car is warmed up to the point where it develops into a sort of rattle. The sound will subside as the car cools. Whenever you turn the engine off, the rattle occurs, quite loud. If you press the clutch the turn the car off, whatever it is, no longer rattles.
  8. Yeah, I got it booked in on wednesday. I know for sure it weren't happening before so it must be one of the new parts or something incorrectly fitted.
  9. I went for a long drive again today and the noise is back. I recorded it with my webcam but the sound doesn't pick up that well although you can hear it a bit, it's louder when you're next to it. It sounds like something rattling when the clutch is not pressed in. My fans goes off after 1 minute, 7 seconds and you can hear it a bit better Any ideas what it is?

  11. Just come back from a run. It was just the battery. Thanks for the replies
  12. Would that help me get the back end out?
  13. And where will I get a battery from on a saturday evening? It won't hurt to charge it and replace IF it needs it. I bet you've wasted loads of money to avoid 'messin'
  14. Phew. Better than a dead ECU. Charging it as we speak.
  15. Hi, I fitted a stereo and have been playing it a bit. I went to start car after a couple of hours, the ignition lights come on but it doesn't turn over, just makes a weird clicking noise. Is this a flat battery or immobiliser or anything else?
  16. Cheers mate. I'll try to make it if im off. Next question, does anyone know what color the wire is that goes to the handbrake? I can't get to the base of it.
  17. Thanks for the invite. I'll try to put my name closer to the time. Sorry I can't plan ahead because of work
  18. yeah, i didnt realise that but then I found a wiring diagram that pointed it out. It's good bit of kit, can change tracks via steering controls which is connected to my phone's liary via bluetooth. Also uses the answer button on the steering to change the source of stereo. They might even work with the handsfree on the stereo, I'll have to test.
  19. I guess it could be worse then. Nothing has caught fire yet! :prays:
  20. Thanks for the link, I think mine is the same as that but it just has steering control plug too. I forgot to wire in the remote so there was no signal to turn on the amp. It's all working now.
  21. Hi, Looking for some more help I bought a PIONEER AVH-X2600BT and wired it in with this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141374464665 I noticed the speakers go in via RCA inputs and don't use the speaker wires. I wonder is the steering controls still work if I splice the stereo wires directly? it also has a black and yellow RCA lead but I'm not sure where to plug this as there are only red and white RCA inputs on the stereo.
  22. I've spoke to them on the phone. They said bring it in as soon as it makes the noise again. I have the old clutch and flywheel they replaced but not the old release bearing but the old release bearing was quiet anyway so even if they didn't replace it, it wasn't making that sound. The manager did assure me he replaced all the parts. It certainly feels like everythings new when I use the clutch. If the gearbox has to come off again, I'll be there to check the parts were replaced, that's for sure. I'll have fun doing some miles and see or rather hear what happens.
  23. Thanks, I'll give them a ring. You'd think it wouldn't be too much to ask to get a clutch fitted without having to go a Z specialist. Others agreed too but obviously I was wrong. I was looking for advice on what to do next, not what I should have done after the fact.
  24. Update: Just went to try it again, went for a longish drive and came back but it's not doing it anymore. I wonder, should I wait for it to happen again or take action?
