I tidied up my dash a bit with a new paint job, It was really quite tatty when I got it (lots of scratches, marks and stains) I decided to have a go at re-painting it and thought I'd share the results it looks really good (you would never know)

Great job, very cool bro, glad I could help too, is this going to be an ongoing trend with 350z owners do you think Tidying up the edging isn't too tough, cant wait to see it then. Another thing I did when I first got my Zed was paint that part of the dash to tidy up the scratches and it came out wicked I noticed you had a few on yours (just a suggestion) I'd love to know how you get on with the GPS on the Samsung keep me posted! http://www.350z-uk.c...console-revamp/

Oh.. that sucks so bad!... SO bad

That wont do it as you need to go into chassis electronics to get the fault code for your ABS. there is a good chance its a wheel sensor or an ABS ring but it may not be easily diagnosed by looking at it, even the slightest knock can cause them to malfunction so there might not be any obvious visual damage. Get it scanned and find out what side its on and go from there

Easyjet fly into belfast, you're more than welcome to bring the equipement with you and i'll meet you at the airport to try it out I'd be well up for that only I don't trust Easy Jet (something about the branding that puts me off)

If you are thinking about losing the app radio anyway I'd sugest maybe doing that first and getting a simpler head unit with inputs for the tablet you wont need both right? and it will save you a few quid I'm sure over all I might take a look at installing the Nexus in the double din slot. There's a bit to consider, I enjoy listening to the radio and I have a rear camera. There are some vids out there of people who have replaced the head unit all together with tablets (usually in the states) but i'd recomend keeping the head unit for the camera and as a music interface for an all round simpler install (plus it looks cool as s**t to have two screens

Both ESP and ABS work off wheel sensors so it is more than likely you have disturbed one of these.. finding which one will need to be diagnosed with a scanner if your near London pop in and I'l check it for you, alternativly any local garage with half decent diagnostic tools should be able to help.

There is a small swich located at the back of the cubby that is activated when the door opens I guess that is malfunctioning (It might be really simple to fix it once you have the centre dash off which isnt very hard to do)

370z is my favorite car I could care less what colour (sadly I could only justify spending enough to buy my humble 350z) in that instant black is the only colour even worth looking at

Do you mean the surround around the gearstick with the climate control dials on? if so then yes just grip on the ring (around the gearstick) and pull it up towards you If you meant the whole center consol (everything after the gear surround) i.e. armrest and cubby, then you will need to first remove the gear surround anyway remove two phillips screws, pull your ashtray out and undo a philips screw inside, push your seats all the way forward to expose two more phillips screws either side of the centre console (either side of your armrest cubby) then carefully lift it out (make sure the handbrake is pulled all the way up it should slip over) hope that helps Yes the latter more complicated, pain in the @rse part! Thank you for the info, if I ever want to do it now I know! Great post btw! Winning Its really not too big a task removing it mate just have a little patients (It sound alot more complicated than it actualy is trust me) One thing I forgot to mention is that when you have undone the screws and are ready to pull it out there is a plug close to the gearstick underneith that will need to be popped of before you can remove it. And thanks for the feedback

Just as a follow up to this build I am having some problems with the GPS on the nexus.. Not sure if it has something to do with it being enclosed in the dash or an issue with the tablet. (I think the latter is more likely as I've read some comments online about gps issues with Asus) Everything else is working perfectly fine and I'm working to resolve the GPS issue just thought I'd mention it. I guess if I cant get it to work right I'l find another tablet on the market that fits (size wise) and replace it! Edit: Redarding this issue I have spoken with a few technical wizards in the industry and I am told that the GPS signal from most tablets is poor at best so fitting it into the dash will more than likely comprimise it as it has in my case. One fix that has been sugested to me is to open the tablet up and extend (solder) a wire from the antena to somewhere external from the dash to get a better signal. I'l re-post when I eventually get round to doing this Update: Resolved the issue with a Bluetooth GPS reciver (£15.00 from Amazon) recomended to me on this post... Read on!
