  1. Ok cheers, maybe im just being paranoid and impatient. It feels like a complete tank compared to what I've owned in the past so I guess it's just gunna take some more getting used too lol. I'll stick to getting the oils changed just for a piece of mind
  2. Just trying my luck really, I'm wondering if anyone's local to reading or maybe down the m4 corridor who wouldn't mind meeting up and checking over the Z I've just brought? This is the only Z I have driven other than a very little test drive in 1 other before. I'm mainly just curious to know if my clutch feels normal it seems like the biting point is quite high, hard to do smooth gear changes and seems very hard to stall (not that I try to stall it on purpose). I'd just like someone else's opinion before I splash out on gear oils/moly grip etc
  3. Cheers bam will do just that, the aux belt is also squeezing so defiantly needs a change. Could this be a DIY job? I don't think I'm confident enough to attempt it myself but I have some family that know what their doing. Wouldn't mind saving some labour costs also any good places to buy a fresh belt?
  4. Amazing set up, i wish i had the patience to do this! Well done
  5. Thanks GMballistic, very helpful there. Will defiantly look at Michelin tyres and look at the price difference. I feel better knowing the clutch may just need some oil so I'll get that looked at when I can fingers crossed!
  6. I did check the tyres, to be honest I'm not even sure why they are advised :/ loads of tread left but they apparently cracked, I really can't see much cracking lol. However they look like cheapish tyres and I will be buying a set of bridgestones for her. I think the car is 100% standard, but I wanted to have a play with a new exhaust anyways so I'm not too fussed about the exhaust corrosion. The only thing I do dread is the clutch going, I'm hoping it's ok and I'm just getting used to it but my gear changes aren't smooth lol. I'll make a post soon to see if anyone local would be kind enough to meet up and maybe have a little check over her to see what they think
  7. Managed to get the car to a garage and plugged in, 3 things came up - a bank 1 sensor 2 (which i believe is a exhaust sensor?) and 2 maximum voltage errors i think? Anyway the guy cleared them and they havent come on since a good few hours of driving. I'm dissapointed with the seller as he told me the only problem with the car was the airbag light and it turned out the car will need possible x4 new tyres at somepoint, rear drop link, exhaust is starting to corrode and a couple of bits. But i still paied the ammount as it was cheaper than i wanted to spend so im just gunna have to fork out a bit to get it to scratch. But the bodywork is immaculat and she is a beauty, i just cant wait to get used to the monster! Thanks for the advice all
  8. Its the W brace - they all rust and look bad. normally nothing that a wire brush and a can of hammerite won't sort out Thanks keyser, hopefully not too big of a job then . Time to find a garage to see and find out what the problem is
  9. Another question... On the last mot it was advised 'cross member center/rear corroded/damaged' I have absolutely no idea what this is lol, can anyone inform me?
  10. Cheers guys, yes it's a private sale and I'm in Wolverhampton. I understand that the guy can just tell me to do one, but yeah I'm just hoping he's a decent enough to sort me out, but I do believe he is hiding something. I'll do my best to get it plugged in first thing tomorrow and post the results, any advice would be mucky appreciated
  11. I test drove it, understood that there was a knocking noise coming from the rear which was the rear drop links and a couple of other bits that need sorting and I paid the money and drove off. 20 minutes of driving later the engine management light comes on :/ Not 100% sure what I should do, I have told him that I'm not happy that the light has suddenly popped up, but he rekon she has never seen the light before and he's surprised. My plan is to take it to a garage first thing in the morning and plug it in a computer, get a receipt of the costs to fix it, go back to his house and ask for the money to pay for the light to be sorted or a full refund. And if he refuses I will threaten to take him to small claims court. Is this the best thing I can do or should I try resolve it another way? I'm at a hotel 2 hours from home so I'd like to sort this asap to save me traveling back to Wolverhampton
  12. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get roughly a few weeks insurance? It's for my mk4 golf gti, picking up my 350z on Friday and will be switching my insurance to that, but obviously is like to keep my golf insured until I find a buyer. Spoke to my insurance (axa insurance) but apparently it's not in their bracket for temp insurance :/
  13. Haha, nice price! Whats the specs on yours? 2004 GT mate so got the Bose, heated seats, Rays, cruise. Black with black leather. Gorgeous and goes great. Got 117K on the clock but with FNSH so kind of makes up for it lol. Needs a few little jobs doing but mechanically superb. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk Fair play, sounds like a good buy can't friggen wait to get mine!
  14. Also can anyone tell if the exhaust is standard? Looks a little different imo
  15. Thanks Chris, will also try that. No major plans really other than: Spraying the rays gloss black(maybe door handles too), Double din DVD player/sat nav, Thinking about a resonator delete?, Induction kit, And I haven't seen the headlights on a zed in the dark, but I'm a big fan of white/blue headlights, so maybe a xenon kit unless they look nice as standard. That's about it although I'm sure I will get addicted and want to do more like the skirts, lips, coloured pipes etc!
  16. Cheers guys, will attempt giving it a clean first.
