  1. Glad its sorted itself out Sam. You must have been a good boy lately...karma and all that!
  2. You need to separate the (4) cables from the connector that goes to the +ve post and identify which one is causing the short circuit. After separating each cable stab one at a time, back onto the battery +ve post, and the one that excessively sparks and splatters has the short circuit. Did you not notice any of these cables heating up or burning when you re-connect? Some serious current flowing there to flatten the battery in a few minutes!!
  3. The "knocked about brute" was Shekhar Mehta's 240Z which won the Safari Rally in 1973. He won it 5 times in total. I'm surprised its still in one piece! Great to see again....thanks Squee for all the pics.

  8. Good choice The adjustable tips don't bother me at all. Gives you a choice of how far you want them to stick out. Enjoy!!!
  9. I can believe that. Years ago when I lived at home with my parents I came home from work one day and this pretty blonde girl I knew who lived down the road flagged me down. She asked me if I could help her as her car had broken down in town (some 7 miles away). I agreed to help her as I've known her for years, plus she is very fit. When we got to her car I discovered it was nothing major, just she had let the petrol run too low & it had conked out going up a slight incline. I said; "We'll go to a petrol station & you can get a petrol can so we can put some fuel back in your car" We get to the petrol station and she walks inside to buy the petrol can. She then comes out carrying a petrol can with a bemused look on her face... "It's empty though?!" She said. Needless to say I did the gentlemanly thing, filled up the petrol can, took her back to her car and got it started for her. Did she show her gratitude for what you had done for her, later on that evening?
  10. I usually check the wife and daughters cars. If it was left to them, I'd probably be in the same situation. Thats why when you see a car advertised as "1 careful lady owner" avoid it like the plague, for similar reasons Sorry girls! I know you're not all like that. Remind me also not to buy an 03 Mini Cooper in the Milton Keynes area!!
