  1. Haven't a clue, sorry, can I have your cup please?
  2. 86, 100, 90 I'm going to see if Spursmaddave will take me to the opera and the ballet and that should do it!!
  3. What, not a Buddy Club Dave!!? In a FWD car I average just over 40 in the FR and from what I have read that will maybe rise slightly with the DPF delete its the DPF that kills the alfa mpg when it reburns to clean the filter, people on average only see about 33 mpg at standard. but with the remap dpf delete and emc switch off it should see the OEM original mpg figures. and as its a 5 cyclinder it apparently sounds pretty good for a diesel, to be honest the biggest selling point for me is the interior, and exterior looks. it may not be as quick as the s2k but its an environment i'd be happy to spend hours in Sounds good to me The DPF is very restrictive on the PD170 engine too... It is quite loud and not very refined but boy does it pull Is the DPF delete expensive for the Alfa, I can get it done on the Leon for £800 including a nice shiny Milltek exhaust
  4. I knew you'd pick upon this and now I can ask the question. Why? The reason I ask is because the vehicle was supplied to me in July with brand new 040's 245 x 45 x 18 all round!! Today I had a txt from Doogyrev saying he had 225 x 45 x 18 on the front and I was a bit puzzled as I naturally assumed that 245's were standard, if they are and there's a good reason for 225's ( I know there will be) then I'm all ears I do hope you mean 225/45/18 on the front and 245/45/18 on the rear...
  5. I must admit, that was the way I was starting to think and I think I'm going to go for VUS 245 x 45 x 18 all round
  6. It would seem that, according to the calculator linky below, that 245 are the max for an 8inch rim, thoughts and comments please. By going for 265's x 35 at the rear this would make the speedo inaccurate, 265's x 40 would be virtually spot on. Blimey this is confusing, if the site below says 245 are the max for 8 inch rims then why do folk fit others? My prime concern now is one of safety? Where's Ekona or Zedmanalex when you need them?
  7. Found the formula thingy http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual ... calculator
  8. Ok, I've talked to my tyre guy and he suggested the following ( he has a 350 Z and has done something similar on his and says it hasn't upset the TC):- Fronts 245 x 45 x18 Rears 265 x 35 x 18 Will this work and is it worth the extra rubber at the rear? Is there a formula somewhere to work out the rolling radius?

    Tyres.

These are on my shortlist (18's), I'd be interested to know what you think about noise levels and "crashing" over bumps etc, what are they like in the wet? Thanks
  12. I'm with you JIm, we have five on the driveway/in the garage!! The Zed is in the garage as it's not my daily driver, my Transit Connect for work, Mrs glr's Audi A3 (diesel) and Mrs glr's two girls have a car each. At this stage of my life this is about enjoyment. Now, I could sell the Zed and bank the money as I don't need a shed as we have the Audi but I'm afraid that isn't going to happen. I'm fortunate enough now to be able to make the decision and based upon the the smile that the Zed puts on my face in every respect then I consider it very well spent cash. Having said all that I do sympathise with you younger guys trying to get on the property ladder etc, we've all been through it and it's tough, many years ago I had to sell my immaculate MGB GT to have enough deposit foe my first place and if I hadn't done that maybe I wouldn't have a Zed now!!? Good point Thank you If every single member of this forum gave up their lovely Zeds or other "nice" vehicles...... Aston's included, it would not make a S*!t of difference to the economy, ozone, pollution... blah, blah, blah The only thing it would do, is make us all miserably and boring..... Discuss that
  13. I set you up, you knock me down It's a fair cop Don't remember it sorry...
  14. Seriously, what are you going for this time?
  15. What the topic was called that, I think Husky posted about the chap in Europe (possibly Belgium) who was carrying out some superb engineering mods?
  16. Am I really going to need that, I don't plan on anything much more than spirited driving? 5W 40 will handle high ambient temperatures better than 5W 30
  17. Well done matey, fingers crossed they really keep their promise this time
  18. I'm about to book the Zed in for a P3 Service at Abbey and I'm going to supply my own synthetic oil. Is any brand better than another or is one synthetic oil the same as the next synthetic oil given today's, one supposes, stringent manufacturing criteria? Any advice gladly received. I thank you
  19. With my very cynical head on, could it be that a) the dealer thinks he'll have more difficulty moving the orange one on? And he makes more money on the orange deal with you as he gave the orange owner a low price together with the "it's not a popular colour" story? All that aside I agree with others who have asked "Do YOU like it?" In the end it has to a personal choice and you have to like it, I was set on a Blade Silver until I saw my current Azure stood in the sunshine and I knew instantly that was the colour for me.
  20. Very helpful and very prompt delivery
  21. No wonder it doesn't fit, it says on the front that it's Jeans ............... and goes
