    Tyres.

I've posted this today in the tyre review post, maybe that was the wrong place so here's some info I gleaned today:- This is info I have gathered today and to my knowledge is accurate, it may or may not be useful when considering tyres at the moment and you should double check yourself as the situation will change. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 245 x 45 x 18 Rears - available Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 225 x 45 x 18 Fronts - "none in the country and on back order, won't be in the country before mid March" If you order them direct from Vred then you won't get them before May, i.e. you go to the back of the queue. Toyo Proxes T1R Only fronts available, these tyres are apparently now discontinued and will be replaced with an asymmetric tread pattern, release date in the UK currently unclear. This info is from tyre manufacturers and major on line distributors, you maybe lucky and find them at smaller local tyre distributors but I couldn't. I hope this is useful.
  5. Oooo, that all sounds as if it could all go very wrong indeed
  6. Lots of people, including me have had very good quotes from Admiral.

    EBC Redstuff

I've got Reds all round and they are fine, shoot me down if I'm wrong but didn't someone on here say that the Yellows were quite dusty?
  8. The actual windscreen washer bottle reservoirs are behind the front bumber, one each side as I remember, the hoses connect here to the pumps in the reservoirs, the offside one can be accessed by removing the wheel arch liners, can't remember if the bumper has to come off though to fully access it. :pmr35lee: for the definitive answers.
  9. That's weird, I went on the Admiral website and it was £800ish I think, ended up with Admiral for £540 via moneysupermarket
  10. I think Spursmaddave has that issue too, can't remember if he said Abbey sorted it when he was in there earlier this week, I'm sure he knows what it is though he'll be along at some point.
  11. Very nice, the last photo suggests that there IS money in Poland

  13. That's done it, Toast and Marmite for brekky
  14. +1 and:- Go back to Kwik Fit, see the Manager, no one else, mention Trading Standards "standard of workmanship is not fit for purpose" if they refuse in anyway to rectify the problem. I'm pretty sure you won't have a leg to stand on if you don't allow them the chance to put it right. They clearly have at least one complete plonker working there and if it were me I'd think about doing the following:- Take it back, get the right tyres put on and the wheels rebalanced at no charge, calmly explain that you are not confident in their skill levels, ask for a refund for the alignment and take it elsewhere on the basis "if they can't get a steering wheel on straight there actually isn't a lot of hope" Just my 2 penny worth. Hope you get it sorted buddy Which quikfit would promptly refuse to pay as you did not give them the chance to put it right, or as stated they offered a refund, not agreeing for you to go elsewhere and charge them... I would get the tyres changed to the correct ones and then put it down to experience and go elsewhere for the alignment
  15. Not sure about the squeezy bottle, I'm too much of a traditionalist my cup of tea was awesome i will admit, as was the second and third too. all the better to be out of a mug with the best branding of them all just for those lovers out there...
  16. Haven't a clue, sorry, can I have your cup please?
  17. 86, 100, 90 I'm going to see if Spursmaddave will take me to the opera and the ballet and that should do it!!
  18. What, not a Buddy Club Dave!!? In a FWD car I average just over 40 in the FR and from what I have read that will maybe rise slightly with the DPF delete its the DPF that kills the alfa mpg when it reburns to clean the filter, people on average only see about 33 mpg at standard. but with the remap dpf delete and emc switch off it should see the OEM original mpg figures. and as its a 5 cyclinder it apparently sounds pretty good for a diesel, to be honest the biggest selling point for me is the interior, and exterior looks. it may not be as quick as the s2k but its an environment i'd be happy to spend hours in Sounds good to me The DPF is very restrictive on the PD170 engine too... It is quite loud and not very refined but boy does it pull Is the DPF delete expensive for the Alfa, I can get it done on the Leon for £800 including a nice shiny Milltek exhaust
  19. I knew you'd pick upon this and now I can ask the question. Why? The reason I ask is because the vehicle was supplied to me in July with brand new 040's 245 x 45 x 18 all round!! Today I had a txt from Doogyrev saying he had 225 x 45 x 18 on the front and I was a bit puzzled as I naturally assumed that 245's were standard, if they are and there's a good reason for 225's ( I know there will be) then I'm all ears I do hope you mean 225/45/18 on the front and 245/45/18 on the rear...
  20. I must admit, that was the way I was starting to think and I think I'm going to go for VUS 245 x 45 x 18 all round
  21. It would seem that, according to the calculator linky below, that 245 are the max for an 8inch rim, thoughts and comments please. By going for 265's x 35 at the rear this would make the speedo inaccurate, 265's x 40 would be virtually spot on. Blimey this is confusing, if the site below says 245 are the max for 8 inch rims then why do folk fit others? My prime concern now is one of safety? Where's Ekona or Zedmanalex when you need them?
