Just a big public thank you to Wasso. Arrived home from honeymoon this morning to be greeted by my next door neighbour carrying the most parcel taped box you have ever seen And wrapped in masses of bubble wrap a gleaming like new engine cover Thanks Ian, you really are a top bloke, rest assured many beer tokens will be lavished upon you in Wales This place really is the double dogs Thanks again mate, the time and trouble you went to to get it here before the bank holiday is outstanding, reassembly will commence in the morning, picked up the strut bar and plenum from the powder coaters this morning and it all looks good Thanks Ian, top bloke
  5. Just did mine and didn't change the gasket. Only put it back together today and all seems ok, will report if any problems occur
  6. If it's a UK car then it will have an alarm/immobiliser and it should be Thatcham Category 2. Thatcham Cat 2 is approval for the immobiliser element only. See the linky:- www.thatcham.org/resources/pdfs/compliance.pdf
  7. Hadn't realised you signed up for Wales mate, good news, you'll love it Car looks Sounds like a plan! can discuss at Wales or the pre meet Gonna be busy boys.....
  8. Day 5 At Swellendam we arrived at the hotel and they upgraded us to a detached bungalow!!!! After a fabulous night there we set out for Knysna and just to prove there is a car god in heaven even when you are on your honeymoon we found Sedgefield Classic Cars, my turn to self indulge
  9. Day 4 The views just keep getting better and better, this is in Stellenbosch in the wine country The road speaks for itself We visited a reserve where Cheetahs are hand reared, there are only 500 or so of them left in the wild, some are released back into the wild, this is Chobie a 2 year old male
  10. Day 3 Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for so many years, a really moving experience especially as our guide "Sparks" was an ex inmate!!! The picture of his garden shows the grapevine in the corner that he used to hide the manuscript for his book behind every night We have travelled on so many roads that are virtually deserted and would suit the Zed down to a tee, here's one, more to follow
  11. Day 2 Cape Town again today and down to the waterfront, plenty of bars and restaurants, the down side was there were plenty of shops too The building in the distance is The Cape Grace Hotel, whisky lovers must visit the Bascule Bar, the hugest selction of Malt Whisky I've ever seen in one place, don't sell anything else, only whisky, thought I died and gone to heaven but was just a little bit addled
  12. Finally got a day to chill out a bit after driving nearly 2k km so far, some of you will know we are on honeymoon and we thought we'd put a few pictures up to share with you guys, hope you like them Day 1, Cape town, what a place, we'd only been in town a few hours after landing at 0800 and were told "if you can see the top of Table Mountain then now is the time to get up there" apparently the wind and the cloud can shut the cable car at short notice
  13. With the day almost done it was time to head home. I'm keeping a Z count and so far it's 4 in 2 days. Here's the 4th: It seems the good folk of South Africa have little or no taste, been here 10 days or so now and still only seen one GM Coupe!!!

Not likely mate, they are even rarer here than at home, we've seen one the whole time we've been here. Drove 180k today on some outstanding mountain roads from Franschoeck to Swellendam, now there's a place to have a meet Did manage to at least drive it in a Nissan though, it's a gutless XTrail with the stability of a cross channel ferry in a force 8 Ask some of the guys in SA, I am sure they could get you one!!!!
