  1. Thinking of some update to the paint as it's aging. Maybe 3M Satin Flip Volcanic Flare, Avery Satin Energetic Yellow, Flash Yellow Matte Metallic, Super Matte Yellow Vinyl, sunflower matte metallic, Matte Saffron Yellow, Red Aluminium Wrap Arlon Ultimate Premiumplus Matte Red, Matte Electric Blue
  2. Didn't realised I'd had the car this long! It's still going strong but two kids means it doesn't get out much. I did the slave cylinder this year, finally, and guess what...it fixed the clutch problem
  3. Bit late to this thread but there's 3 GT4's in Lower Earley alone
  4. Quite the opposite, he was really touched at the support and asked if we could do it again next year! He's 84 so it's an unprecedented thing to happen to you at that stage of life. I'm still sad that he bought a grey car as it means that the bullies won
  5. Is anyone else going on the convoy or meeting at Cotswold Wildlife Park to see the biggest gathering of yellow cars you are likely to ever find? We're in the convoy . http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/yellow-car-convoy-through-bibury-in-support-of-pensioner-whose-car-was-vandalised/story-30131660-detail/story.html https://www.motor1.com/news/140597/vauxhall-corsa-maddox-yellow/
  6. well, my clutch problem has reoccurred. It's completely heat dependent. On track it is fine, but in traffic and with the air con on full, the pedal drops. But stop the car for five minutes and the pedal's back. We're going to try race clutch fluid next....
  7. Well, no slave cylinder required so hoping braided lines will solve the clutch pedal dropping when hot. So, my rev-up is now up-revved with Motordyne plenum spacer and cat back TDX2, and making 302 fwhp, back how it should have been out of the factory (and either never was, or had dropped in the intervening 10 years) Off to Abingdon on Friday to see what it handles like on stock suspension and cheap tyres...
  8. replacement backbox arrived free of charge and sounds good. now with Jez for a new slave cylinder and braided lines
  9. I'm taking the GT4, with a mate in an S2000, anyone else up for it?
  10. yep, lower earley. it was obviously a good day then, attracts dirt like flies to the proverbial
  11. I miss my RX-7 for its flames...they were one of the characteristic things about my car. Those who don't like them obviously never had a car that does it, it's great fun when BMW's try and sit on your arse on the motorway, a long late lift off the throttle and six foot flames pop out the back...what's not to like? If I recall correctly, you can put more fuel into the map where the lift off path is, which they used to do to keep turbos spinning on gear changes. If you imagine that when you accelerate you pass up along a curved path on the map as the throttle position increases ahead of the revs, well when you lift off you follow a reflected path as the throttle position drops sooner than the revs and that's where to put the extra fuel which will largely pass un-burnt into the exhaust. Quick sketch here:
  12. pop out to Reading Jap Meet at the B&Q car park tonight, maybe?
