  1. Hooray - at last someone with an understanding of the situation - Well said, Docwra - you're absolutely right and you put it better than I ever could.
  2. Hi there - I've only just seen this thread. I know that this kind of sharing happens on GTROC too and I was going to join up simply to see if I could 'borrow' a set of discs for my 370z (they're the same as the GT-R) - but this is brilliant. May I please add my name to the list? If you want my name & address, just ask. Thanks in advance. Chubbster ps - one of the sets that works would be nice!
  3. One of the nice things about a Zed is sitting in traffic, looking at all those other rubbish cars. Another nice thing is BLATTING* it. *This means accelerating briskly, but safely, to a maximum of 70mph on appropriate roads.
  4. I don't remember the alligator thing at school - probably had my radio on at the time. However, I clearly remember EVERYONE telling us that the oil was going to have run out by 2020 (I believed it, which is why my garage is full of half empty cans). Looks like they might have got that one wrong. Currently, I believe in the greenhouse effect and global warming. It worries me so much that I've limited myself to 3 vehicles, several computers, TV's, central heating, buying tons of supermarket food for my family and pets, countless other consumer items including a nice size house, foreign holidays and regular unnecessary trips out, just because I like to drive, when I could have been sooo much more greedy. Oh - and I separate my waste. God, we're a selfish bunch of creatures, aren't we? Really - seriously.
  5. The 2 P3 services were well over a year apart, so nothing fishy there as far as time between services is concerned - if anything, it's a bit long, but these things happen. I don't understand why it had 2 P3 services in a row, when they're supposed to be 4 years apart. To answer your original question, early Z's had a problem with clicking rear driveshafts. To test this, drive slowly and gently back & forth with windows open. If you hear a click form the back axle, they need attention. They also had window winder motor problems - but these things would probably have been sorted out years ago, if they occurred. After 100,000 miles you could be looking at all sorts of parts wearing out. I'd get a mechanic or the AA to come with you and give it a check, unless you are confident of spotting problems yourself. I'm amazed that you've bought a car without looking at it - that's something I'd never do.
  6. Did you get your first set of dust caps back too?
  7. Feeling for you mate. Have you paid anything yet? Edit - on the plus side it looks like the previous owner looked after it.
  8. Only just seen this thread. Introducing the brother & sister team of William (Blue British Shorthair) and Lulu (Silver Point British Shorthair)... William's just a bloke... and Lulu looks like the angel she definitely isn't...
  9. Guess what we've just had an offer accepted on...
  10. More importantly than her age, did the boot open first time?
  11. Nice & shiny! Flashed, hooted & waved like an idiot

  14. Honestly mate, I'm the happiest guy out there. Just people say one thing and then do the same thing themselves. Sorry if I've upset you - and apologies, especially to the OP for making an off-topic post. I was just trying to be a bit amusing - stupid really. I'll try to avoid doing it again.
  15. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn. Every time I glance at the title to this thread I think it says, "Eric Idle" and it REALLY annoys me. Hope I haven't put this worm into anyone else's head.
  16. Brilliant! I think we'll find it hard to top that one. Reversing slowly and accidentally into the wife is probably the zenith of any man's driving career. Well done.
  17. It's not the driving I'm worried about - they are undoubtedly fun to drive (and when you're inside one you can convince yourself you're actually in a car). My problem is seeing one outside my house and knowing it's not someone else's. As an aside, has anyone else noticed that the majority of Smart drivers drive like lunatics (or annoying little wasps, at the very best)?
  18. hmmm Nooo. I was tempted for a minute there. But no - extra money won't make up for seeing it every time I look out of the window.
  19. Maybe they think it's the most attractive colour - or maybe they think it's sh!t. Who knows? Personally, if I were a fly I'd feel most at home on those rusty colour ones. Don't think you're special - they park themselves on my silver one too.
  20. Very good. I've actually got 50 Shades of Grey. In my hair.
  21. My misses has a 1 series and i certainly wouldnt say its an ugly car... quite the opposite Mine too, compared to say... A Hyundai Coupe, it's stunning Haha - ever since my first 350z, whenever we see a Hyundai Coupe my son has taken great delight in whispering, "Oh look, there's a car like yours.", because he knows how angry it makes me. Must agree that the new BMW is fugliest.
  22. You boys are really trying to break me, aren't you? But I am strong. Sadly, she won't have the Brabus - already tried that one. She wants no road tax. My latest trick is to change the subject onto holidays - it's working so far.
  23. As dipsticks go, the 350z one is a total dog. You've probably picked up a bit of oil on one side while the dipstick was travelling on its tortuous route either up or down the shaft. Just keep trying - eventually you'll get a reading you can believe.
