  1. anyone spotted when you go into the hidden menu and select draw correct, you can leave it on and drive with rear camera on

you can see what you've just overtaken

Nicely spotted mate - It's always good to have an extra rear view mirror. Could be good for a laugh every now & again.

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless I'm very much mistaken, isn't this kind of conclusive proof that he's not pyschic? In fact, you don't need to even be psychic to know the equation C2H6O + Z = X Zed

    Edited to correct a typo

  3. ...oh yes, the 'self healing paint' is good too. No swirls to worry about.

   - cobblers ;)

 Do I detect that you may not agree entirely!?!

I've got a silver car, it's coming up to 4 years old and the paintwork is in brilliant condition. I look after it, but I'm not obsessive. My previous Z's had swirls everywhere within 12 months or less. So I stick with what my eyes are telling me - the paint is good (much better than previous Nissan coatings). The swirls just are not there - but I don't want to divert this guy's thread, so start a new topic if you want to carry this one on.

  4. I have used bank transfer for last two exchanges. Took my mac to someones house, logged onto their internet, transfered the money out of my lloyds account on a sunday afternoon, went through and cleared in his account in about 2 minutes.

Sold the VX last weekend, same thing, guy transferred from Barclays to my Lloyds account, 2 minutes.

    Easiest way really.

Ditto with my last 2 sales. There's always a bit of concern in the back of my mind, because I'm not seeing real banknotes, but both sales have gone through without a hitch.

I suppose you need to feel you trust the other party too, don't you?

  5. Hi Rich,

I've not been on the forum for a while, or I'd have answered sooner.

I've owned Z's since 2004 (2 x 350z's and a 370z). As far as fuel consumption is concerned, the 370z is marginally better than the 350z, but only very slightly. The reviews you've read that state it's worse are just plain wrong. So you don't need to be worried about paying far more for fuel, or filling up much more frequently - you won't notice much difference.

The first time I drove my 370z in a 'spirited' way I noticed that it was significantly quicker/more powerful than my HR 350z. I think you might be quite happy with the power upgrade from your current car.

I find that the 370z doesn't handle quite as well as my 350z's did at higher speed (the 350's used to be confidence-inspiring at higher speeds), nor does it go in a straight line as easily - I'm forever getting unwanted feedback from the steering wheel and having to make tiny adjustments. This never happened in my 350z's. Grip levels are similar in both cars (not good under harsh acceleration) and depend on your tyres.

The gearshifts are pretty much identical. If you don't like the 350, you wont like the 370's. Personally, I like both. Nice and solid/positive - not 'agricultural' at all.

Cabin noise levels are still bad - but in addition the 370z doesn't have the lovely exhaust note of the 350z.

The trim/comfort/satnav/audio/ipod connectivity is much better in the 370z, especially from 2010 onwards.

I dare say some people will disagree with something I've said, but then again, I disagree with some of the things others have said here too.

Personally, I'd go for it - and good luck mate.

...oh yes, the 'self healing paint' is good too. No swirls to worry about. It won't stop stone chips though.

  6. Boas' decision to let him play on was just about as good as his regular (and ridiculous) decision to keep Jermain Defoe on the bench for most of the time in Premiership games this season, when Spurs are totally unable to score goals in open play. Personally, I still bemoan the departure of Harry Redknapp and I don't think AVB's up to the job. Hope I'm proved wrong.

  7. I did about 5 miles a few minutes ago.

I did it because it's late, there's nobody else on the roads and i fancied a ****ing blatt. blatt blatt blatt. Who gives a **** about miles per year*? Blatt blatt blatt. Lovely. Hope I'm not spoiling the thread. Blatt.

edit - *except ****ing insurance compansies.

  8. I bought 2 Falken 453's for the rear a couple of months ago. The best price I could find were Oponeo Tyres - CLICK HERE - I think they may be based in Poland, but they were reliable and helpful/efficient on the phone - £119 for the Falken 453 225/45 R18, delivered. I had no problems with them.

Blackcircles are £127.80 each, for the same tyre. Camskill are £127.90, so you could save about £36 if you buy 4 tyres from Oponeo.

Cheers! I think blackcircles are cheaper actually unless I'm looking at the wrong ones...

These are similar priced and have pretty good reviews too

    http://www.blackcirc...y&tyre=31733215

I really don't want to spend much more tha £100 a corner if it can be helped.

Aaah - I was looking at Blackcircles via their link with Tescos - the little naughties add on a pretty penny if you go through Tesco, don't they?

  9. If you live in Essex and look out of your window today, that's kinda the conditions it was when I had the accident, to give some kind of perspective to it.

I don't live in Essex, so I google-imaged 'view of essex' to see what the roads look like and - seeing what came up - it's no wonder you lost it, under those appalling road conditions. It looks soooo slippery...

  10. Thanks for sharing with us Dan. Sorry to read it but glad you're okay, which is the most important part.

It's strange how different experiences when driving can have differing effects on us and our driving style/technique.

I recently did a 'learn to drift' day as I thought it would give me more confidence and understanding of what the car was doing and how to control it in a 'what if' situation. But whilst driving this weekend in the wet I realised what it has actually done was demostrate just how easy it it to lose the back end on a RWD car and how easy it is for things to go wrong.

Instead of increasing my confidence, it's actually slowed me down (especially cornering) when conditions are not exaclty favourable. Which I also guess in turn has made me a little bit safer driver.

You're right, I had exactly the same experience some years ago - apart from the 'slowed me down' bit.

  11. Good post mate. I like honesty. And you certainly have got a good friend there. Hope he got a little prezzie.

Maybe getting yourself on a track day sometime this winter would help you to get rid of the jitters. After all, you know what they advise when you fall off a horse*...

*...although to be honest, I hate horses - bloody great big things with a mind of their own - and they'll kick you when you least expect it - bit like that car you were driving, I suppose.

  12. This thread has reminded me - on my old 56 plate Z I bought a metal 'Z pin' off ebay for 99p, sawed the pin off it, put some double sided tape on the back and carefully stuck it just in front of the gear stick. I used to really like looking at that (sad, aren't I?)...

    zbadgeongearleversurround.jpg

Also, by the door hinge there is a black plastic vent with a 'Z' shape in it. I painted it silver and it made that bit look really good too. Just makes the car look a bit less cheap. Cost me nothing.

Do these 2 mods and you've still got £99.01 to play with.

  13. Hi Neil - now that I know you have a 2010 (hopefully with Connect Premium touch screen satnav) I'll make the effort to list the steps you take to turn her off.

Just to confirm, pre-Connect Premium equipped 370's do not have the speed camera option :)

    aaaah - thanks - I didn't know that.

  14. Hi Neil - now that I know you have a 2010 (hopefully with Connect Premium touch screen satnav) I'll make the effort to list the steps you take to turn her off. Click the following...

Good luck mate. Now can we see some pics & know what part of the country you're in?

  15. Bought a bottle of it about 10 years ago. Used it a few times and then I discovered that my car had what I presume were optional extras. My mate told me they were called 'windscreen wipers'. Apparently, you just flick a switch and hey presto, no more rain. I've never looked back. If you haven't got any, I thoroughly recommend that you get some (2 is normally enough).

The rain-x is still in the cupboard, hardly used, cos it's a faff to put the stuff on every few weeks. Windscreen wipers are the future of rain elimination.

  16. If you have the Connect Premium satnav (2010 onwards), the instructions are on pp 8-6 & 8-7 of the Navigation System Owner's Manual - a very confusing and long-winded tome, but rtfm. This information may not apply to you, but as you haven't told us the year of your car, it's the best i can do.

Personally. I'd never turn the speed camera warning off - I need all the help I can get. ...Did you know you can turn the warning volume down, so she's not shouting at you?

And welcome - shame your first post has had to be an angry one!!! What's your ride and post some pics.
