  1. Got it installed today. Cheers Rick More pictures here: http://s1310.photobu..._Baton/library/ from this: to this:
  2. I got round to trying the Gtechniq trim restorer today, simple to use goes an amazingly long way. Could have done both wing mirrors with 3 or 4 drops if I was quick. From this: To this:
  3. Some new additions. I tried carbon wrapping my kick plates whit some spare vinyl. I couldn't get the curved corner to stick properly though. So i got some aluminium ones, but to be honest I'm not that impressed with them. I'm planning on getting some bits carbon dipped by a local guy, so was going to use my old kick plates as a a tester and then sell them on. If they look okay I might keep them and sell the aluminium ones. Next I used some Gtechniq trim restorer on my wing mirror posts. I brought them second hand to paint up and they were in much worse condition than the ones I has on my car. From this: To this: I've also purchased Rickdon's prototype carbon dipped Slam panel/Cooling plate. from this: to this:
  4. Yep, was just going to suggest the same guy, might be a bit of trek for you though! Mine was £80 to +£80 for window tints
  5. Question is, what are you doing with them???
  6. It could be pure economics, if someone wants something urgently they are likely to pay more for it? Or it could be a demographic thing, the kind of person who doesn't plan in advance could be seen as a risk taker? (that wasn't meant to be taken personally though)
  7. Just stick a couple of ice cubes in it. IPA on the rocks.

    Sill Trims

Should have 3 pairs left by my reckoning, they normally go quickly. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/56317-nissan-z-logo-aluminium-kick-plates/page__st__40
  9. I started a thread about it a few weeks ago, 2 pages of suggestions for you to go with!!! http://www.350z-uk.c...lastic-revival/ I went with GTechniq as I've used their stuff before on other things and its never let me down. I've not applied it yet though.
  10. Give him a shot???? I don't think booze will help!!!
  11. They have got legs you just can't see them because of the baggy pants. (URBAN JOKE)
  12. That's why I was thinking of starting with the door sills as I actually have the aluminium ones on the way from Steve, so I'm doing my spare set as a tester (they'll probably be on here in a few weeks!). Also going to be doing the rear strut bar as thats kind of out the way. Based on the results of that I'll then go for the centre console. Its also why I'm more concerned on how easy it is to correct it if it goes horribly wrong! Any idea how much it would cost to send the centre console in the post/courier to another company?
  13. Check out this you tube channel. Some guy in America build replicas of famous movie/gaming swords. https://www.youtube.com/user/AweMeChannel If you could come up with a 350 styled version you may sell a few on here! a small pocket knife its always handy to have in a tool kit.
  14. Okay now I know you've all come here to rubber neck pictures of a bad job but it hasn't happened yet! I'm getting some interior parts done (door sills/rear strut brace/centre console) but my local place just looks to be a guy doing it in his shed. His examples look fine and its fairly cheap (no VAT ). Can't be bothered to ship my parts off to places would rather drive to the place which is only 15 minutes away. My question is how thick is the coating process and can you just lightly sand back and redo if it looks pony. I'd have thought its a couple of base layers + a tint layer then the dipping layer and a few layers of clearcoat. So easily fixable by a reputable source. I'm probably going to get the sills and rear strut done first to check out the workmanship.
  15. I'm going to touch up some chipped paintwork so need to make sure the paint is as clean as possible. What do I use to remove the layers of sealant and wax? Would undiluted APC do the trick? I've got the auto finesse stuff. I'm not looking to strip the whole car just the localised area where the chips are.
  16. I'll admit when i first started detailing I presumed sealant would be the last stage i.e. seal everything in! Which I guess it does but its meant to bond to the paint i.e. seal in the clean paint surface after a deep clean and wax. No harm in putting it on last it just won't last as long.

    Music

2! I only have the one and all my music is lossless Itunes is currently at 22k songs!!! One has all my music that's under 30 minutes in length and the other has all my mixtapes on it. Also need one for whilst the other one is charging in the car or syncing back at home. I don't play and charge because of the high pitch whine, fixing that looked too complicated!
  18. Insure yourself on it then add him as a named driver.
  19. Don't think you can have the sides done as the factory tint is pretty close to the UK limit. I had dark smoke (one below limo) on my side quarters and the rear window, it cost about £80. The guys I used refused to do the sides, but the cost including the sides would have been £100. Pic's in the build thread in my signature. I used the same guys as 14N (middle link in the post above), couldn't fault them, they are based in Dudley (West Midlands). When I was looking the general costs for all windows (including sides) seemed to be £150-£180.
