Ops right you are - well that's an embarrassing slip up . Unfortunately I'm not sure, but if I was pushed for an answer I'd say no - but its suddenly got significantly more severe. But it'd make sense as its happening go both fronts (whats the chance of another component failing naturally on both sides at the same time?) I'll have a good poke around everything that rotates tomorrow!
-
Thanks for the reply bud, that does actually sound likely. The noise seems synced/proportional with rotation of the wheel, rather than road surface! Nothing dangling down, but will check the nuts asap - I have had new tyres fitted within the past month or so, along with Tarmac Sportz spacers fitted, but I even returned to the garage for them to be re-torqued after 50 miles. I'll have to investigate myself! Thanks for your input, if anyone else has anything they'd like to throw into the mix please do!

From my readings people seem to suggest the bannana arms. Or at least the compression arm bush, should I be getting a couple of these: http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=78_169_293_483_1406&products_id=25342 On order?

Good evening all, I have a severe clicking from both my front wheels, up until now I just assumed it was the rears as it's such a well documented and known issue (and have been planning to carry out a fix) however it's only now that I've realised it's actually the fronts. I normally drive with my windows up, radio on - So it wasn't until I drove in an enclosed street that I realised the extent of the noise! I know a video isn't much to go on, but are any of you clever chaps able to offer a plan of attack I should follow when investigating/replacing parts? It's booked in for some other work in the near future so would like to get it done then! Any help / insight is massive appreciated. CLICK CLICK CLICK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9_f87ZFT0o

Oh my, this thread could prove quite expensive for me!
-
Hi bud, I've got one which fits your requirements perfectly! It's currently in the loft. Should be able to get it posted to your door for £20. How much were you thinking? (I was just going to keep it up there 'just in case'), feel free to PM me!
-
As above really, only need the one - posted please! Many thanks, Ryan

You can buy clamp on flexis on eBay for £25, which would do the job. Or £20 gets you a non-clamping one, take that to someone that can weld, throw them a few beer tokens and you're good to go!
-
Right I just stubbed my toe against it, so if someone gives me £45 they can have it!
-
Right-o, I've been reminded by my significant other that our flat is not in fact a car parts storage garage. So this has to go - Someone make a reasonable offer and come pick it up!
-
For sale here is my Japspeed y pipe for 03 - 06 cars. It's cheap because one of the flexi's has gone and needs repair/replacement. I bought it in this condition with the intention of doing it myself, however a full system turned up locally and I had to have it. So this is now surplus to requirements! Oh, it could also do with a polish, but if you're lucky I might do this myself if I can find my autosol! The flexi that needs replacing: £60 collected from Bristol. Unfortunately I'm fairly new to the world of 350'z, so probably not the best person to ask any questions regarding fitment/compatibility etc.. Also I'd rather it was collected so the buyer can have a good look over it themselves. If you want any more pictures of anything specific, please ask! Many thanks, Ryan
-
Ah right you both are. Thank you so much. I really should have figured that out myself... Definitely worth repairing then!
-
Picked this up along with a few parts the other day, but it's flexi's are gone and need replacing. I'm just trying to gauge whether it's worth repairing or not! I've had a look online but am struggling to find anything similar, it's filthy - But polishes up rather well. Thanks!

I'd voice what you've just said to be honest. That they either lose you to another department, or lose you completely to another company. I'm sure they'd rather the former.

Hi mate, I used a panel type SMD's which have 18 seperate LED's which more than illuminate the boot! Worlds apart from the usual LED stuff you get. I've used them as regular interior lighting as well, they really are silly bright: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/93189-ryants-build-diary-introduction-with-bonus-mx5-content/#entry1404055 I was originally selling them to the guys on the MX5 forum, but then found out you can use them everywhere in the 350!

Where do you lot buy your fuel dampers from? (exl. dealer)
RyanT replied to RyanT's topic in 350Z Technical
Brilliant thanks, I'll PM them now! Yeah likewise, I figured if it's going to need replacing eventually I may as well do it now. From what I've read/seen it's actually a fairly easy DIY. EDIT: If anyone comes across this thread as a result of a search, I'll post this up in case it helps - The damper is highlighted in red It's probably worth getting that O-ring next to it as well: -
Hi all, I've self-diagnosed the fuel damper as failing on my beloved 350. (ticking on idle, ticking stops once car is turned off/restarted (?) However, where do you suggest sourcing one from? Nissan want ~£175 and all of the decent other sources seem to be from the USA, eg: £41 here (+ £20 shipping): http://www.rockauto.co.uk/catalog/x,carcode,1433005,parttype,6120 Or £55 odd on eBay, plus £25 or so shipping/import charges. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuel-Injection-Pressure-Damper-fits-2003-2006-Nissan-350Z-STANDARD-MOTOR-/291288318764?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43d223032c http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuel-Injection-Pressure-Damper-fits-2002-2006-Nissan-350Z-Murano-Maxima-S-/291277487630?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43d17dbe0e Has anyone had any luck with something similar to the above? Or should I just play it safe and get one from Nissan? Also, is there a risk of the damper causing any damage/suffering total failure? Or is it (at worst) just going to keep ticking as even the Nissan dealer says they don't stock them and it'll take a week or so to get one sent from Amsterdam. Many thanks in advance!

The company I work for almost exclusively uses GSM Graphic Arts who have proven themselves over many years. Not sure of the MoQ though, we order in the thousands.

Hi all, Apparently Wonder Wheels products are being discontinued, so many items are just £1 at Halfords. I've picked up a load from my local branch. I'm sure it's not amazing, but for £1! http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmdMobile?srch=wonder+wheels&action=search&storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&langId=-1&mode=search

It was mentioned at the top, but I have bad experience with coilovers, makes the ride very unforgiving.... so will be leaving this to last. SC kit sounds more entertaining than suspension You probably bought / experienced cheap coilovers (Racelands, TA Technix, etc..). If it was me, coilovers/3D fast road alignment would pretty much be at the top of my list. Go for Meister R, Gaz, BC etc, which can be picked up for circa £300 2nd hand on the forum.

RyanT's Build Diary & Introduction (with 'bonus' MX5 content)
RyanT replied to RyanT's topic in Member Build Projects
Thanks for the replies everyone! Thanks chaps! Ah well that's a good question... To be honest I'm still a bit overwhelmed with everything available for the Z. So I'm going to spend a bit of time just getting the car in 'factory fresh' condition, although with each thread I read on here I can see things getting more and more expensive! Well, the stock power still scares me - I don't think I'm going to grow tired of it any time soon (famous last words!) Yeah I did, I'm so pleased with the finish. For £8 worth of paint and a bit of elbow-grease it's a no brainier! A brief update... Right, following the well worn path I've done the aux input mod which was an enjoyable job! Although I was terrified of scratching my newly painted plastics when taking the radio out... It works! The mod works really well, however - With a £15 box of magic from Amazon you can turn a great mod into something fantastic! Which is ridiculously tiny: So now you have high quality wireless music with the OEM headunit for less than £20, Brilliant! Now I've just got to figure out how best to hard-wire it in. Next, I moved to the next area of the car which needs improvement... The leather dye on the drivers seat bottom cushion had worn, as seen in this photo: However it was just the colouring which had gone, as the leather in those areas was perfect. So, after placing an order with Gliptone, we get the following: They provide you with an exact colour match for your leather, which can be applied in many ways - I used the sponge.. ...Which, completely restores the leather to it's factory condition: I've still got to treat the leather further with the shampoo & conditioner, but you've got to wait for a while after dying the seats - So it should look even better shortly. Anyway, that's me done for now, thanks for reading! -
Hi mate, Regarding brakes, you may find the standard items are OK after fitting decent fluid and pads, after all its such a light car. However a common upgrade (and one I've done myself) is fitting the brakes from the Mk2.5 SV-T sport trim level, which are larger, easily found (and cheap) and an easily swapped. They've proven more than good enough for the people that run more than twice stock power. I wouldnt go on track without a roll bar. Most of us go for TR lane roll bars as they allow the roof / hard top to operate as normal (and doesn't restrict the seat travel backwards) but still bolts securely to the chassis. They also offer door bars which you may also be interested in. EDIT: MX5NUTZ user Vindi manufactures his own ducktail spoilers which are lovely, seen on my car here: Also as for wheels, unless you're buying lightweight ones like 6UL's you may find wide heavy wheels can 'bog down' a standard powered MX5. People generally recommend using the lightest 6.5/7J wheels you can find and running 195 profile tyres (which also means you have a decent amount of cheaper sticker track rubber available). A good option here is the standard Mk2 enkei alloys seen here:http://blog.twwhitea...X5_mk2_rear.jpg as they are hollow, extremely light and cheap. Use that money saved to buy tuition with Mazda on Track which'll make you far faster than anything you can bolt onto the car. EDIT 2: If you are fitting a hardtop, remove the soft-top as it's very heavy!
-
Awesome! If you ever need any advice or anything feel free to give me a shout, and get on MX5NUTZ if you've not already! Here's my Mk2 track car! I'd add to your list a set of decent coilovers and some braced chassis rails (From the likes of Jass or P5).

Evening guys, As above, want a set of 25mm and a set of 20mm hubcentric spacers. I'm in Bristol and can pick up, or obviously willing to pay postage costs. Many thanks, Ryan
