Sorry for bumpin but ive been running a VH45 in my Z33 for a while (finished the swap in late spring 2014), sweet motor though its still stock. Not a big difference to the VQ but a nice noticable torque bump, good to have when the Z now weighs a bit more..

Anyone around here swapped the VQ35 for a VH45DE?

*Update! Been running all summer, without any serious problems! I need to extend the stock power steering lines, havent done that yet and my arms are starting to ake! Rev vid: -
Say "YEAH" if you have recently pressed the magic button!

Mine's lays hidden inside the dashboard, replaced it with a HORN button, since the previous owner had a A/M steering wheel and the horn wire was gone. Fitted a stock steering wheel to get it through registration but the horn still didnt work with new wiring so i fitted a cute A/M button instead of the constantly disable ESP (ESP is UpRev'd away). -
I just shoehorned a VH45DE in my Z33, piece of cake ( )! Moved the gearbox back 70mm and got me a new prop shaft, this so that i could keep everything in front of the engine stock. I dont think a more narrow V'd V10 should be a problem

Looking forward to the development of this

Just a bad excuse, if they knew what they were talking about it wouldnt be an issue. Just FYI, checking the FSM, MT document, you can find the differences between the sychros in the different gearboxes. Double-cone, triple-cone etc. -
Its the bump stop for the throttle pedal, i saw'd off part of mine converting to throttle cable. Snaps right back up.

I dont like cats... I had an issue some time ago which i assume has to do with the slave cylinder. The clutch pedal felt loose when pressed half way down. Went back to normal over night. Running ACT flywheel and clutch.

Awesome, this has been bugging me a long time, gonna try this asap! -
Well.. mine wont be cheap i guess since its a runner, unless you count 'bout 1200 £ cheap that is. Will have to ship it from Sweden too since i imported it here from the UK.

To late? 80k mls VQ35DE, Plenum spacer. Ran fine before i removed it, no weird smell, no leaks etc.

I swapped a VH45DE in my 04 Z, alittle more torque always helps And BTW i got a 80k de for sale ^^

Sorry to hear, glad she (the missus) is ok though

I have 25mm spacers, with bolts in them, dont know the correct name Anyways, no prob yet, i simply bolt them up with the nuts that came with them and fasten the wheels with the stock nuts No alarming noise yet!

Thanks guys Also aligned my headlights, a walk in the park using a loong philips screwdriver. It was the whole thing with them not moving every time i turned them on that had me puzzled but it all makes sense now
-
Thanks Arent they supposed to adjust when ignition is turned on/car started, you know, up and down once?

Hi, bought a UK 350Z GT with OEM Xenon headlights but they arent self levelling when i turn ignition on, first off, do the UK ones do this? If so, would you happen to have any tips for what might be the problem, already checked the Brown plug for the sensor at the rear axle but i dont know if theres also any relays or fuses to be checked. The headlights turn on as they should, without a hazzle. Thanks, David

Anyone around here swapped the VQ35 for a VH45DE?

Thanks HmmBen, Im not after those huge HP as you say, though i have distant plans to add two turbos, but those are still just plans. But if i do that it takes so much with it, if i want the turbos to come to use i would do a complete rebuild, although if i've understood it right the VH45 is quite strong when FI'ing it -

Dont really feel like an optionfor me though, way more expensive, leaves the all-Nissan feel and also half the joy is doing this by myself, not buying a ready to go-kit, not enough satisfaction in that Owned a shop for acouple of years doing just this kind of things so its hopefully not to much news for me -

Many reasons; first of all, keeping it Nissan Im not in any way thinking Nissan=God but its fun to keep it in the family.. and hopefully more compatible as i want to run stock gauges as far as i can on this. Also wanting to see how the Nissan V8s compare to the US logs. My neighbor is running a Chevy smallblock single turbo dragster (1408flywheel HP 1580NM yada yada) so its a nail in his eye to step into his yard too as i plan on going TT next year. Another reason is pricing, bought the engine shipped to Sweden for 1799 USD, far cheaper then any LS Engine though they have ALOT more aftermarket parts and knowledge -

Looking forward to it myself, Ill admit that Should be enough space but through some ref pics it looks like its actually quite tight considering the width of the engine but definitely possible! Got acouple of things running through my mind when it comes to space, the VH45 should be a fair amount 'longer' so i might run into a problem with two solutions; either fit the engine as far back as possible but with the downside that i have to manufacture new gearbox mounts, shorten the driveshaft and manufacturing linkage for the shift stick. The other solution is to fit the engine with the gearbox in stock position and making space infront instead. Problems there might be framework, cooler relocation etc.. Well well im doing this for the fun of it and manufacturing custom solutions is really what makes me fire on all cylinders Ofcourse i want the engine located as far back as possible due to the extra weight and what it does to the handling, considering it weights about 150-200!!! lbs more. Also looking forward with despare ( ) the approaching issues with running a z33 gearbox and starter on the VH45 which apperently has the same flywheel boltpattern as the z32's. Read somewhere that the z33 flywheel can be redrilled to fit the VH45 but that feels abit... shakey.. Also might be having som eissues with clearance so that i have to space the flywheel out abit so that the starter can engage. Another combo might be running z32 TT flywheel, probably with spacer, and z32 tt pressure plate but the z33 clutch disc, not sure about the diameter of the Z32 TT flywheel clutch area and the Z33, the z33 might be abit larger in diameter but maybe not to much to clear the z32 pressure plate... pheeeew -
Cant help you mate, only i know is mine got a skeleton flywheel fitted and ACT clutch, Heavy as hell. This is on a 04 UK.
