Hi folks, I've been using rain x for about 2 years now and i think it's pretty good stuff. I love how the rain beads up and comes right off even at 30 / 40 mph with no wipers. Problem is it tends to cloud up over a few weeks and streak. What are the alternatives in products?

[SOLD]**SOLD** Pirelli P Zero to suit 19" LMGT4's
Spatt replied to 350Butcher's topic in 350z Parts For Sale
Nobody broken your arm off yet? Ideal size for my Volk-GTS wheels, if they're still here on pay day i'll be very tempted though i have just replaced my fronts and the rears are 6 months old. GLWTS -
thanks for all the help guys... i might bring the car to work tomorrow and have a go in the workshop after we finish.. my lights are fine but have strange cracking marks on the inside which obviously i cant get out I got sick of polishing them only to find that the marks on the inside where still there every time. The fading / fogging came off easy each year i did them so not really i big deal. I just feel they really let the car down and wanted to get some 'cleaner' ones.. The new ones i bought still have a couple of marks on them but look a lot better. I do intend to sell my old lamps as they are perfectly fine and in good working order its just i felt they really let the car down and wanted some cleaner ones. They might be ideal if someone wanted to have a go at stripping them down and polishing the inside maybe?

Yeh I keep talking myself in and out of it... to be honest there's nothing I fancy replacing them with so for now I'm going to hang on to theme.

battery dead - clutch depressed - safe to jump start?
Spatt replied to KUGT4's topic in 350Z General
I managed to 'bump' mine when the battery died at Silverstone a year ago. I was hammering the tunes (as you do) and the thing just died on me after a few hours. I parked facing down a hill, depressed the clutch flicked the ignition into the on position and rolled away in second. Quickly lifting the clutch got me running and the tunes playing again. I did this twice from memory with no apparent issues, how come you didn't try to bump it if you where on a hill? that would have been my first action i feel (perhaps not the correct one) Ive heard bad things about 'jumping' a car that it can mess with the electronics but i suppose bumping isn't much better on the mechanical. -
I have asked on the detailing threads and i believe the best option is something like a synthetic nano coating. Something like Gtechnique C5 wheel armour. Wheel waxes and other natural products just dont cut it in the real world. i think if you detail your car and then drive to a show at 55 mph the next morning a rim wax would be fine but diving on the brakes from high speed every 2 minutes tends to layer up the crap on the surface. I suppose i could wait until winter, split them up myslef, give them a damn good polish and then try to seal them and see if that helps any.

you're probably right.. i need a nice wheel for street use and putting miles on the car. I think after a couple of years these wheels will look terrible and would be much better suited to a show car that only comes out in good weather Ive spent hours polishing them with rotary die grinder at work but a few weeks later they go back to being pitted Do you coat them with anything after polishing? No not really, i tend to use a wheel wax or recently ive been using WD40s "wax polish" its sprays on and is easy to take off and provides some basic protection. I've found my fronts have become pitted pretty bad and i cant get in with the polisher to get them any better, i may have to split them myself to give them a good clean

Hi Folks, please lets not turn this into a dibs thread for my rims, im testing the water to see what i could replace them with. I have a set of winter wheels so that isn't the problem. The problem i have with them is they would simply better suited to a weekend car or show car I frequently go for large GT drives out with friends and although the wheels look great for the first 100 miles or so they get covered in brake dust and take ages to clean because of the design. i'm also worried that in my company they'll start to deteriorate as i dont get chance to clean them up when i get back home each time. I'm also getting a price for having them lacquered on the rim which should hopefully make them easier to clean up each time

not really bud, dont fancy the cost in tyres and i doubt they'll be any good for my drives on standard suspension

Hi Folks, Just a feeler to see whats around, I've been thinking about it for a few months and i want to replace my Volks with something a little more practical. I'm looking at possibly getting some 370 wheels or some concave type wheels. Does anyone know if theres anything around?. Oh and yes the Volks will be for sale (probably at the end of summer if i can find something to replace them)

Hi guys. I just changed my coil packs and now the car appears to have gone into limp mode? Will rev but only to 2500 then it hits a wall and bounces like a limiter. I'm pretty sure the coils have gone back properly.. do I need to get to a garage to reset ecu
