The cradle came with my head unit (purchased from the forum) I reused the cradle in my car as it was easier. I cant guarantee it was out of a zed as the seller didn't specify but i presume it was? both the fascia came with the head unit also and again i presume they are from a zed? (purchased from forum member) sorry for lack of details guys, im not a car audio expert but just didn't want to throw them out (hence price is free if collected)

OP updated with some more tasty pictures

They're a great set and perfect fitment for the zed.

6 coil packs have come off my 2003 DE at 80K One of these if faulty but i have no way of testing it as the fault was an intermittent misfire (breaking down coil) I had to replace all 6 because of this but there is nothing wrong with the other 5. £50 + £10 postage Collection from Bury (North Manchester)

OsGiken TS2BD Twin Plate Clutch and Flywheel
Spatt replied to Jetpilot's topic in 350z Parts For Sale
oh wow thats quite a journey from Bury haha I'm just trying to swot up on the twin disc clutches and from what i gather there isn't much harm in putting a clutch that's "too good" on a standard car other than it can be a bit 'grabby' and could stall out the car every now and then. It the flywheel duel mass? Sorry for questions i'm not a mechanic and i'm on a steel learning curve Should probably go in something with more power than my 2003 DE and i want a single mass lightweight fly like i have now -

Where are you roughly? -
update - Had a few prices and i've been in touch with a few companies regarding a rebuild estimates are £2500 - £3000. I'm likely to need rebore and new pistons, Crank will be measured and replaced if worn. All consumables to be replaced such as bearings, seals, gaskets. So should be a pretty good job and hopefully should be "almost like new" which should be nice. Pretty pleased with what ive been reading so far so now its just a case of saving up. Can see me trying to sell loads of stuff to try and finance the build or a small loan. watch this space as they say Matt

Wow.. some interesting opinions (concerning and heavy at that) I dont think ill be buying a recon. Not to say there aren't some good engines out there but I feel that it's not the route i want to take. Better the devil you know?? I don't think it's fair to say I've entirely ruined my engine i find it a little insensitive haha! noticed my oil was low when I drained it yes but I bet some of you guys have had the same problem on the QT. I've also spent an absolute fortune on premium oil and changed it religiously since purchase, servicing the car every 6 months. I'm still looking at my options I know I have a few to go on right now. I've decided to SORN the car until I can move on the rebuild, it was a hard choice but I've taken the forums advice on that and I thank you for it. I'll keep you all posted Oh, and I have one girlfriend hahaha!! Matt

Hey guys, Yeh your all totally right,; I haven't considered what mess i might get into.. Its just one day and i can ride shotgun in the C63 no problem so i'll take it off the road and get my tax back. I'm looking at a place in Manchester for the rebuild (still waiting on quote) and a friendly mechanic i know would be happy to take the engine out if needed and store the car etc... Am i right in thinking not all rebuilds are the same? apart from the obvious piston rings, gaskets other consumables what should i be getting done? Bearings / Seals ?? I'm thinking i might change the engine mounts since they'll have to come off

I have another car, me and the girlfriends share it for work (we both work at the same place) and yes (its hard work sometimes ) Honestly i'm not too bummed out by it all... its no question what has to be done and no question to me if it should be done either. Its just a matter of when in terms of getting some funds together. I'm not using the car daily and in fact i wont touch it now until TRAX in September. I'll make sure i have plenty of oil to top it up on the way down and just take it easy. Its not smoking on part throttle or just cruising about so should be ok on the motorway. Hope to get some money together in a few months and get it done for Chrismas. The wheels will be coming off for winter and i hope if i sell them that should help a bit towards the overall cost. I forgot to mention that i took the oil sump off when i dropped the oil yesterday and it all looks pretty good in there, some residue on the sump bottom from fine metal filings but surly thats to be expected. I'll update as i go and if i take the engine out myself i'll post up some pics. On that note it might be handy if there is a little "how to"

It wasn't overfilled. My mechanic checked my oil level for me before we dropped it and it looked very high on the dipstick. We dropped the oil out to find approx 3 ltrs had come out very confused now.... Filled back up with Motul 8100 5w30 changed oil filter ect.... I measured out 4.7 ltrs into a measuring jug and chucked that in. I checked the dipstick and managed (roughly) to see that it was on the marks Once i fired it up it wasn't smoking and running nice but as soon as i touch the throttle now anything half throttle or more at 2K rpm its smoking really really badly Long story short and by the power of deduction the piston rings are shot and i need a rebuild I'm going to try a thicker oil and an oil stabiliser such as "Lucas heavy duty oil stabiliser" and hopfully this will see me through for a couple of months while i try and get some funds together. What ever has happened has happened pretty quick and iv'e noticed a little drop in power and smoothness for sure. If anyone has anything constructive to offer please post up, this is quite sad news as i'm sure you'll understand. Matt

its the only show all year that i go with another group, i'm sure we'll see each others cars though

MR2 is cool man! You are very lucky to own both of these.

Normally a big turn out for the zed guys at this one? I'll be going with a few friends from Manchester but i'll come say hi Matt

Ramps booked for tomorrow Brillomaster i'll defo be coming straight back here to let you know exactly how much i overfilled it by though you and Ekona can have a fit of giggles at the hilarity of it all. On a serious note i actually dont know what the damage is going to be (if any) but i believe its pretty common for the engines to run low on oil and this causes bottom end failure. I'll have a chat with my mechanic tomorrow and see if i need to do anything now or wait and see if things get worse That cheap dipstick though
-
Ekona, I'm sure you enjoyed that too much but it seems to be your thing. Thanks for the "heads up" I'll start applying for credit cards while I wait for my engine to explode. I'm not actually sure it's been overfilled yet but it was definitely low which is annoying since I service it every 6 month with fresh oil. Muse be burning it quite a bit now Holding onto the possibility that this will all just go away but I know I'm clutching at straws and what ever is going on will probably need to be fixed and it's likely to be expensive (which is great news after just getting a mortgage)
-
thanks guys, oil ordered and garage ramp booked, I'll drop out the oil thats in and let you laugh at how much i overfilled it by hehe I haven't actually checked it since i suspect i overfilled it (Just noticed pressure was up a bit) Its not an easy task as my drive is on a slope and i dont fancy leaving it on the street over night in case it gets knocked
-
Not CEL theres an actual oil light. looks like a oil filling can (RED) it came on under braking and went off straight away.. i figure it was becuase of the oil moving forward and dropping under the sensor. i haven't driven the car since and i only intend to drive it to the nearest ramp once my order arrives from opie oils
-
wow that sounds expensive, who are you getting to do this for you?
-
Hi folks, So i got an oil warning light under heavy breaking i figure this isn't the end of the world but still not good!!!! Arrgh! I immediately pulled over and tipped 1Ltr of oil i had in the boot into the car. I checked the oil level using the dipstick and i wasn't sure if i had enough in so when i got home i opened up a brand new 5L container of Titan Race Pro S checked the oil level (still not sure) and started glugging it in. When i fired it up oil pressure looked pretty good and it was only as i was driving around i got a strong smell of oil... Thought at first i'd spilled some but not likely.. every time i floor it to the limiter the oil pressure rockets (not to max but high enough for me to think its not normal) and i get a nice big blue smoke cloud at the exhaust which isn't doing my nice clean nismo tips any good! so it isn't smoking on start up or part throttle.... only when up near the limiter with the throttle fully open. a blip on the down shifts cause a little cough too! I'm just about to buy some oil so i can service it again this weekend and i figure its the only way i can be 100% sure how much bloody oil is in the car!! Hopefully this smoke should go away right or am i looking at a serious problemo cheers, Matt

So would you recommend the gtechniq brand? I buy most of my stuff from clean your car.com I'm pretty sure they sell it. I'll probably go for the easy to apply stuff for now. Having watched YouTube tho it doesn't seem to scary to apply the gtechniq g5 tho
-
Ah cheers bud. That helps.. I have some gtechniq in a little spray bottle think it's called liquid crystal ando I think it's great
