Hi guys... im going to have the car in the air tomorrow while i service it... while im at it im going to try and scrape back some rusty patches and put some zinc primer on to help protect it..
since i haven't really been under the car is there any areas i should pay close attention too that are prone to cause problems later in life?
I have not looked into wax oils and sealing the underside of my car because i think it'll quite expensive? I guess the rusty areas have to be treated some how first anyway?
Im about to change my aux belts but recently i noticed a fairly quite squeaking from the belts / pulley... changes frequency as the rpms increase so i know its in that area.
where would i get two new idler pulleys from if i wanted to change them at the same time while im under there and are they easy enough to change?
I wanted the do do juice as I have used the orange crush one on my last car (bright gloss red). I loved it and I think I'll be buying some super natural next time around for sure.
there are two I was recommended.. blue velvet and a purple one.. are they as good?
Its around 45 quid (I think) from clean your car... I just find it that little bit more special that you can apply by hand, literally. You put a bit on your finger tips the starts spreading it on a panel with your palm but you get a good feel for how even your putting it on...
if you enjoy waxing your cars (and don't mind spending a while doing it) I would highly recommended you try it
Just bought and tried this on one of my panels (Left rear arch)
Apply by hand, buff almost right away. I have used many wax's but i'm amazed at the results... Some pics for you to see and i'll upload some more when i get chance to finish the car.
Huh!? Heard its gonna be nice for the rest of the weekend (Though i will be bringing the waterproofs and boots)
hoping the weight of all the camping gear will help get the car out of a jam haha
Welcome!
just remembered to surf the welcomes pages and i found you. glad you signed up.
How did the car park adventure go? did you get stuck hehe
Head over to the north west section under meets/shows/events and join us for some drives / meets. need to hear this exhaust again haha
Matt
Hi boy and girls...
Oil change time, i know there are loads of threads on oils and stuff so not bothering with those questions..
.... oh wait, here's some.
Im going to pick up...
Castrol edge 5w30 because i can pick up a 1ltr bottle easy from asda to feed my cars addiction to gulping oil..
I'll grab a copper compression washer from work (waiting for you guys to let me know what size this is)
and an oil filter from my local car parts place unless you all say "NO!, You MUST buy this one its the dogs!"
Where do i grab a magnetic plug from?
Oh, and why no sticky for the oil change? is it that easy? Do i have to take off the plastic under tray?
