Hey folks, sorry my notifications where off for this thread !?!? Toon Chris - Thanks for the offer. I'll have to say no thanks as i have my old Y pip still and replacing the flexi's is still an option for either that one or the one thats on there now. Brillo - It's always the Flexi thats going. possible engine mounts? harsh throttle delivery and aggressive driving putting load on them?? Smc - Dont think i can go solid for the above reason? Need the flexi to do its job as i think my engine is moving around too much. Paddy - i think your nuts haha... i did replace my last one with a second hand cheap y pipe and it only lasted a month or two before its started "chuffing" not its blowing like mad again. Floydbax - Hit the nail on the head! i reckon its the mounts but i took it to my local "mate with a ramp" and we tried moving the engine around with a bar and although it moves it is stiff. personally i think my mounts have gone but all the more reason to not get a solid piece. I think i'll explore the option of replacing just the flexible connections or try a cheapo y pipe from ebay?

exactly my personal opinion is that forum owned cars (enthusiasts) generally take good car of their price and joy. A local garage forecourt wont be as interested in the finer details because its not a labour of love for them. It's also my opinion that people searching for a 350z or 370z will visit the forum and, if they're experience of buying a car is anything like what mine was it should certainly be worth it. I also think its simply not right and rude to make that comment. I know how i'd feel if you made that comment about my pride and joy. Apologies for the off topic discussion here. feel free to delete. Matt

ahhhh tyre talk! I have the Kuhmo Ecsta on my car right now. I have just replaced the rears with new ones. I have these because that's what came on the wheels when i bought them and i have to say i think they're ok. Yes, if you hammer is in the wet they let go and give up pretty quick but i simply cant afford to buy the top end tyres in the 19" sizes. I used to have continental sport 5's on my 18's and they where amazing. I was going to try the Toyo next but after reading some of the posts here i dont think i'll bother. Matt

I think the price is fair. more than fair even! why do we want to knock down our fellow club members on parting with their pride and joy? Forum cars should be worth more in my opinion and 5K is too cheap for a forum car. Go look what 5K bags you on Auto Trader! GLWTS

No, im not. Just thought i'd ask. bottom end seems a common cause of death with the engine
-
Yes, remind me Ian cheers that would be good.

Hi folks, i want to take my HFC's off and replace with standard. Where can i get new standard cats? cheers, Matt
-
hi folks, after a Y pipe. nearly new or new please. don't want to do this again in 6 months time. Matt
-
hey, sorry to hear about the issues. let us know who puts the new motor in for you. Just in case i have to cross the same bridge at some point. stupid dipstick means oil in the zeds always a little on the low side and i'm starting to get "the fear"

Hi folks, as titled, I find myself in the market (yet again) for a new y pipe. had a look and ebay are knocking them out for around 120quid. anyone ever fitted one of these? do they do the job? I have HFC fitted and these will be coming off as i think its partly to blame for the premature failure of two y pipes. I'll be going back to stock cats. Matt

hey folks, just did a search for bumper tuck. How do you do a bumper tuck? Heres a picture of mine. I have the Nismo exhaust and want to show it off a little more. I know its hanging down at one side at the moment (i'm having trouble with blowing flexi's) i had a look the other day and it looks like i have a bent bracket holding the exhaust.
-
Is this not the rear shocks? my car used to bang / clunk at the rear. it was a quick bang and i swapped the shock and it was fine
-
Nice pic Stuggerz, cars looking nice and glossy!

thanks guys, mines probably overdue i think 12 months since last change. Disks and pads are being done in the next month or two so assume would be an ideal opportunity. off topic but brake fluid every 6 months common for performance cars? only reason i ask is a friend has a merc C 63 amg and he says brake not the same after 12 months... could be something else tho. thanks again
-
Hi folks, What are we using for brake fluid? (fast road) i'm getting some T2 disks and Ferodo 2500 pads Just been on Opie oils and i'm now confused. thanks for your help, sticky?

sorry for killing this question. a friend is going to let me put my car on his ramp tomorrow so i can have a damn good look at the mounts and hopefully put this "niggle" i have to bed. What should i be looking for if they are in need of replacing? my reasons for thinking they have gone are; difficult to shift gear medium to high rpm keep ripping exhaust flexible connections (could this be through the engine moving under heavy acceleration) your thoughts, cheers. Matt

It makes me sad to think that one day i'll come on the forum and Tom will have written the words "sold - please lock" I was lucky enough to be invited out for a ride shotgun around Oulton park when we both did a track day together and i can honestly say it was one of the best experiences i've ever had. its funny i remember coming out of the pit lane and hearing the familiar sound of a V6 burble then... woosh!

Noooo! such a shame! What a machine. I'm sure it will go to a good home.
-
This is a shame, I spotted it on the news this morning and i've had a few "Not one of your lot i hope" from the lads at work this morning. I'm stunned that four are dead with the quad? you can't fit four people on one quad can you?
-
both the y-pipes i have used are OEM, i found the second one a worse fit. I think all the hammer the engine has had has really put strain on the flexible connections. I fitted HFC's but these are going once i have the funds to do all the mounts, new y-pipe and get it all realigned
-
exhaust needs straightening up i know. i'm on the case but need to figure out if i need engine & gearbox mounts before i get the Y-pipe replaced (again)

Grabbed a quick shot with my dslr before heading to the Northwest meet "Yorkshire Dales Sunday run" last weekend.
