  1. if we enter through the tunnel at the north side i believe it is customary to drop into neutral and hit the limiter... just thought i would mention
  2. If my experience with body shops is anything to go by you are a very brave man they're just putting a plaster over a hole in my front bumper.. should be fine... I'll call them at lunch and see how its going haha!
  3. dropped the car off at the body shop last night to have the front bumper repaired. He told me should be ready for thursday at the latest so fingers crossed otherwise i'll be walking
  4. Mine is a nismo. it has a nismo sticker on the bonnet and one on the boot
  5. What he said Any pics of this done on a 350z ?? I have a serious problem with the plastic clear cover being cracked on the inside.. i'll need to let them see mine before hand
  6. Yes agreed, lets bring it forward half hour. i'm sure none of us want to be late for our own party
  7. Its kind of a good thing we dont all turn up at the same time.. can you imagine having a convoy of over a hundred zeds haha (actually that would be epic) seriously though i think by the time we've had a quick chat and driven down the road to silverstone everyone will still be queuing up. Anyone got there tickets via email yet?? I haven't. I'm not bothered because i have a receipt showing what ive paid for so if they dont turn up thats their problem! Lee, Sounds like a plan.. we'll grab a beer and talk V6 notes  If anyone else is around on the Saturday night we could have a mini pre show MK-meet ! Probably be loads of other nice Jap metal in the car park too i would imagine. Lets get this list straight so we know whos meeting on the Sunday morning. 1. SUPRAWOOKIE 2. newkid 3. Amyzed 4. Tkddave 5. Spatt 6. Jalada 7. 8. 9. 10.
  8. Oh no! Sunday is THE main event Im coming down from Manchester and obviously due to the early start want to stay near by the night before. I've never been to MK so after stumbling on this thread thought i'd stay there and join your convoy.
  9. surprised that your car didn't pass. I had HFC's on mine and they passed. I'm wondering if you have any other modifications that might affect your emissions testing?
  10. i'll be there, me n the Mrs are staying at premier inn i think but i was hoping to grab a beer with some people on the Sat night. seems like its going to be pretty quite tho
  11. Ok cheers for this. just checking i open this up when engine is running until water comes out (coolant) then nip it up? engine hot or cold or doesn't matter?
  12. Update. Plenum is now back on and car starts / runs fine. There's a water trickle noise I can hear from inside the car. Sounds like it's coming from behind the steering wheel. Do I need to breath the coolant system? I notice two valves "h" and "c" near battery cover (rear right of the plenum)
  13. yeh, ive had all the parts off before and hopefully it wont be an issue. if i can i'll refit everything tonight and fire it up, at least then i'll know
  14. oh man that really sucks, i hope it goes away for you, well basically i started pulling things off the car so disconnected the electronics from the MAF and the electronics from the Throttle Body but never bothered to unplug anything else (like the battery) i think im going to spray with with some carb cleaner and not touch the actual valve inside just wipe off what i can. hope to god when it all goes back together that it runs fine otherwise i'll be making a trip to a local garage. taking the plenum off was a pain in the ass i dont want to have to do it again thats for sure!!
  15. wow, so need less to say i'm now crapping myself after reading your thread! Is your still throwing a tantrum?
  16. Hi guys managed to get it all off (eventually) damn coolant hoses i presume they are at inlet of the plenum where a pain in the ass to get off. You can see it needs a good clean TB isn't looking too bad but i'm defo going to hit it with some carb cleaner trying not to move the valve the inside of the plenum is very oily, i wondered if i was over oiling my intake filter but is the oil coming from somewhere else? i read that its normal for it to be oily so no worries right? thanks for the help, hoping to put it all back together over the weekend
  17. Sounds like a plan to me, i;m travelling down on the Sat and staying in Milton Keynes (probably the premier inn) so not to far from your suggested meeting spot. Is anyone else staying in MK the night before?
  18. Yes i agree but maybe next year, i would like to fit the plenum and do the uprev all in one go to get maximum performance improvments but i simply cant afford it right now. I know what you mean i remember this being an issue when i changed it last time. Resetting the throttle body doesn't look easy. i hope i dont have to do this, though i have noticed some idling issues from time to time though it has never worried me, just some fluctuations when warming up with idle speeds
  19. Congrats, it's an amazing rare piece of art in that colour and with the original V1 kit
  20. Thats a good hint i might just do that if they're all different lengths, better than throwing them all in a tin and not knowing what goes where thats for sure. Bit worried about all the stuff at the end of the PDF about resetting throttle and ECU but with luck that shouldn't affect me at all, i just want to remove it to clean it up.
  21. thanks Wasso. Dont think i'll be messing about with cleaning the throttle body too much then. Will i have to disconnect battery and leave for 30 mins when i put it all back together? I had to do that when i changed my air intake system to the Popcharger. Also, Gaskets? Are there any gaskets i need to change should be prepared to change? there is a rubber one for the Popcharger but its only two years old and should be ok.
  22. Welcome, spotted your post on FB... Great rare car. must be a special feeling driving it
  23. cheers Mark, If i'm feeling up to it i'll remove the lower half to give it a clean. I have had it all off before but only once. As i figured with the spacer, dont see much point unless i'm going to uprev (which i cant afford) Plan is get everything off and give it all a good clean for Japfest been a while so its time for some TLC. I'll grab some carb cleaner from Halfrauds on the way home. With the throttle body, can i open the valve by hand to clean it properly or will the valve have to stay shut?
  24. Love the headlight James, Great job!
  25. I'm taking my polished plenum off today to give it all a good clean and re polish it. Figured while i was at it some TLC. So Popcharger to be cleaned using filter cleaner then re oiled clean throttle body? If so, what with? clean MAF sensor? should i be touching this, if so what to clean it with? when i remove the plenum the lower half that has the intake ports are normally dirty, again, good chance for a clean or leave this alone? I have some liquid brake cleaner and some engine degreaser to hang assume this stuff should be ok to use? Also, anyone know off hand the torque setting for the plenum when i re fit? Toyed with a spacer as i dont have one yet but am i really going to see a performance difference? cheers for any advice guys, Matt
