Hi Matt top effort so far fella, what editing program do you use. I had a dash cam on all weekend and would love to put snippets together. Hey dude, I use Gopro's editing software. Its free to download but its not the best. Adobe premier is a good bit of kit but very expensive. If your shooting hours and hours of HD footage especialy at 60fps you'll hammer your hard drive so best cutting it up into the "good bits" and throwing the rest out thats all i do. Matt

Hi folks, Thanks for the positive vibes! I do really like putting these together its just time consuming. It's going to take some time to go through all the footage but i'm planning on doing a vid for youtube and i'll do another one which can be sent via a drop box or email (not sure yet best option) Once they are available i'll post up here and let you know Matt

Niki - Great big thanks to you for putting this weekend on and everyone who helped out with it. As everyone has said it was awesome from start to finish !! The drives where the highlight for me. Big thanks to Matt for leading our group and making it loads of fun! I'll be putting some footage together of that soon (Only the PG stuff) The "too hot for tv" stuff will go out via email if anyone is interested in seeing that. Everyone's company was brilliant and i cant wait to do it all again next year ! Cheers everyone! Matt

Grim... i'm still in work and with no chance of an early finish Still have to... get home, pack some socks, rinse the car, glue and tar remover, rinse again, clay, rinse, soap, rinse, clean the wheels, rinse, dry, clean all the sills / shuts, hoover, polish dash, clean glass, start waxing... open a beer... finish waxing, put on some tyre shine and wax the wheels... oh and the exhaust See you all in the morning!

Just to update (dont know if it matters) Bonkers and I have a hotel booked for the Saturday night so we'll be able to unwind with everyone in the bar ... and we absolutely will not be revving the bollocks off the AMG in the car park *cough* Matt

Thanks dude. thats pretty handy to know. currently i'm waiting until i get to my friends garage after work. hes going to take a look at the discs for me and see if they'll last another 6 - 12 months if so i'm just going to replace the pads

I'm having this problem at the moment. I still cant be bothered to take the door card off... ive done it before and it was a pain in the ass so i'm trying to ignore the problem. drivers side goes down (after hitting door card with fist and holding the button) if i let it drop to the bottom it wont go up (unless i hold button and open my door and slam it) passenger side window works fine but when i put it up on "auto" it reaches the top and comes back down halfway Matt

come on, give it a chance guys.. its episode 1. I think if you still feel the same way at the end of the series then fine but then you can say you gave it a fair shot

yes thanks for the info.. I'm trying to get hold of some new pads and discs before the weekend. A friend is helping me fit them he said its pretty easy to do.

Has anybody thought that the original trio of JC RH JM have all worked together for so many years that they click easily with one another even on live TV... It's going to be a few weeks at least before we get to that stage with this new guys. I actually thought the show was good. It has some areas to improve on and yes Chris Evens shouting it one... you can't fault any enthusiasm from him though.

I posted this when I first bought the car.. Basically under heavy braking I get a solid handbrake light (the red exclamation mark in brackets) found out this was due to my brake fluid being low. Thanks for the tips on that one guys. So now I have a head scratch moment. I know my fluid level to be low right now as my pads are pretty much shot and I'm saving for new discs and pads (man I hate having a mortgage) I heard that your fluid level drops as pads wear out.. this makes sense if it's true but here's what I've noticed the red handbrake light is coming on under heavy acceleration !? Could there be a sensor that is being activated as the fluid is moving around under that heavy acceleration? Can I / Should I top up my brake fluid? It's not near the "min" mark maybe halfway between Thanks in advance if anyone could spread some knowledge on this Matt

I just recently removed mine to re polish it after months of neglect.. i'm tempted to go down the painted silver look once it started to deteriorate again. GLWTS

I think the grand tour will be awesome. It has to be to live up to the expectations but the budget should allow for some really big crazy moment (which is good right) so no worries there. Regarding the re-hash of old Top Gear, I dont think the aim was to make a completely new program... Its the same program but it should at least feel a little different with the new presenters. I dont expect to tune into a show called Top Gear and not see some familiarities to what i'm used too... Otherwise they might as well close it all down and launch a new show (with a new name) This could have been done easily but i figured BBC are going to retain a format that obviously works

Wowzers,. some great view points to this but i guess we all agree that having two car shows is better than having one or worse still none This Sundays show could be the start of something really good and i think it deserves a fresh opinion and reviewed for what it is. From what I've seen on the trailers it looks like its going to be great! Ultimately wasn't Top Gear one of the biggest shows on TV? Sure it had its moments (i shudder when i think of that episode where Clarkson is trying to burn Hammond with a blow torch... and there was a pizza involved... and i'm not really sure what was funny about it all)... Other than that the show was great right up until it stopped.

Hi Folks, Not sure if there is already a thread - if so please point me in the right direction and delete this. This Sunday 29th May Chris Evens' Top Gear car show starts and a lot of people have very mixed views on what to come. What are peoples thoughts? I was very pleased to hear that Chris Harris had been offered the job and although I've only been a fan for the last couple of years I hope the BBC haven't put a tight leash on. He's very funny when he gets going.
