massively different insurance costs. The cars are 'worth less' only by virtue of the buying publics phobia of them It would seem with those two statements you are only perpetuating myths you read on the web. I bought a zed not 6 months ago, i viewed many, jdm and uk cars, from ebay, gumtree, autotrader, pistonheads etc and from very real first hand very recent experience i can tell you, hand on heart, there is not a lot of difference between price and quality of either cars and insurance is a few quid here or there either way. Just did a quote £300 for my UK, £540 for Import. Not hating on JDM's as I said earlier on in this post its swings and round abouts as you buy cheap then sell cheap. Mine was cheaper to insure a JDM so they can't always be more. I think insurance is a lottery now anyway..

I fitted 20mm spacers all round a few days ago and I can't really tell any difference yet..drives the same.

Like some others have said, buy the very best you can afford and don't worry if it's a JDM. My insurance was £200 cheaper than a UK so I wouldn't worry about that either, what I would say though is Brembos are a must! I have effectively a UK spec jap car.

I haven't seen over 19mpg yet but I'm not fussed, the car gives me enough joy for me not to care!

Very nice cars/bikes! Love the R34, what are they like to drive?? Also, massive respect for getting on a drag bike and taking it up the strip! I have been going to Santa pod since I was about 5 and my dad raced drag cars for a number of years and I always had such admiration for the drag bikes that are doing unreal times!

Acceleration, yes it took off from me but I got up behind you and you were going no where...and like you say it stops at 120 whereas I'll keep on going Did you turn you T/C off ? or where you spinning the crap out the rears? you had it long Dave ? ? ? Had T/C on as it was a bit slippery out and I have only had the car 4 months or so. It's my first ever RWD car so I'm still learning!

It wasn't today but I thought I would list my mods since buying the zed... Stubby aerial, rear wiper delete, D1 Spec throttle controller and a K1 exhaust (I like it). I have also purchased some 20mm spacers from D8MNT which should be here on Monday and coilovers are coming next month as a Christmas present to myself Also I picked up some RAYS alloys as I had the standard GT alloys, they aren't on the car yet as I need to get them refurbed (thinking either black or shadow chrome) and then I will probably fit them in spring time as I don't want them getting ruined over winter. I will get pics up once these bits and pieces are on the car!

Earlier today spotted a Black 60 plate 370z on M6 near Stoke...

I too got my Zed from there, it was good to see so many different ones and they were really helpful in finding the right one for which spec I wanted and my budget. The after sales could have been better but hey ho!

They are some lovely wheels there, I like the darker shadow chrome ones and the cobalt are sexy!

Ahh I see, there's a place near me that does £35 a wheel if the colour is Black or White. Nice and cheap if I want to go with just Black!
