I already have a JWT popcharger, I know everyone has mixed opinions about those and i will be getting a remap once I've put the new clutch and lightweight flywheel in. Plus you are bang on with the wallet, with christmas and a rebuild ha ha. wont be long till its all done fingers crossed.

I was an unusual ticking noise though from when it first started, just a heads up to anyone if you think its anything else. Originally it sounded like a hole in a manifold gasket.
-
It was the bearings, big end that were on the way out was a ticking time bomb, surprised it lasted that long. From now on I'm only putting nanodrive oil and shell V-power in her.

Will do later today, she needs a wash.Glad to be back!

So just before christmas my poor Zed's engine decided to start knocking at 2500 rpm all the way up and even worse on the way down. so I took it to my friend Julian at Garage-D to get the official and technical diagnosis of "Yeah thats f**cked" As a decent mechanic he wouldn't let me drive it away as I would only be doing more damage leaving me to get the train home from watford to hertford (2 crappy hours) Whilst the engine was out I realised that it wasn't the first time it had been out as I noticed scratches on the bulk head, One to look out for if you are looking to buy one. As the heart of my zed was on a engine stand I decided to get rid of the standard manifolds/cats and put the tubular de-cat manifolds from japspeed. As I was going down that road I then decided to hell with it why not get the Y pipe as well. I have had a full engine rebuild with new crank, bearings, rings, metal gaskets, well you know the rest. Since I've got her back I can't wipe the smile of my face, the noise of her now is amazing! I already had a after market back section, of which I have no idea what it is, I've searched for a quad tip like mine but have never found one but any way the loud raspy scream gives me the same feeling when I'm drunk singing bohemian rhapsody!! yeah that good!! I do want to put a new clutch and lightweight flywheel on soon along with rolling the arches and larger spacers oooo plus some colour coding. With all the work as I know a few of you are wondering I paid £2700 for a full rebuild, Japspeed de-cat manifolds. Japspeed Y-pipe and a full service after 500 miles. CHECK OUT MY ALBUM I'VE PUT UP SOME NEW PICS

R35LEE Done deal, ha ha

Be interesting to see how the roof attaches and where you would store the roof if you took it off while you were out. UK weather would love to ruin a nice day out with the roof off!!

Ah thats better 14N, Nice one. What would I do without you guys?

I came across this pic on instagram and I have never seen one before, not sure if its photoshop but either way looks pretty sweet. Hope the pic comes out alright, I had to shrink it.

Newbie looking for my first 350z
Jared350z replied to Jake1989's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Welcome to the forum dude. I bought a 2003 Import 65k on the clock and paid £6000, Did come with HKS coilovers, exhaust and exedy clutch. BUT the service history was rubbish which I am now paying for as I'm havin my engine rebuilt and the garage I bought it from dissapeared!! So my advice would be buy from a reliable garage or fellow enthusiast and make sure it has a full service history or closes as. The more info you can have about the car the better. Zeds are awesome cars, thats why we own them ha ha but the do need care, well the engine does. its worth it, plus everyone on this forum is awesome! -
I dunno as it took me ages to work out the whole ET lark, either way I havent rolled my arches (yet) but My tyres are streched abit at the back but theres still room.
-
No rolling on the rears with -5, is that with a fair bit of camber and stretch on the tyre? I dont have -5 on the rears or have you quoted the wrong one? As for tyres I run 225/45/18 (front, stretched) 245/45/18 (rear, little stretched)

350z Android tablet + aftermarket sub install!
Jared350z replied to zubairhussain123's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
I did a similar thing but i put a bigger sub in and I did a thread on it if it helps dude. Like the nexus install. -
Salut Richard bienvenue sur le forum, l'amour du moteur
-
I run 9.5j ET20 all round with a 5mm spacers on the front and 25mm at the rear. Mines lowered slightly but there is still room to go wider without rolling my arches. hope that helps a little.

Wicked build dude, inspiration right there.

Ah your quite far away from me, I was gonna suggest getting in contact with Julian at Garage D in watford as thats where my engine is being rebuilt/uprated. He also has a VQ30DET for £1500 for sale. fits straight in to a Zed. Nice 3ltr single turbo if you fancy a nice engine swap. I was gonna go for it but I wanna do a RB25 engine conversion next year! I am not so sure its thats simple to fit the vq30, do you know if they retain all the standard canbus system and how they overcome the throttle, 350 is fly by wire and vq30 is cable? You are correct with the throttle it just get put on to a cable instead of electronic, Julian said its really easy to do. He knows his stuff and he said it has the same mounts and fits straights onto the gear box. the only part thats a lot work/money is making the pipe work for the intercooler and a custom exhaust. Apart from that it goes straight in. There was a post somewhere on here that a dude in America had done it before and it worked really well. Think it was on your thread, i did a little looking about after you mentioned it and it is talked about a lot in the states but not many conversions actually done. Would like to hear more details about the wiring up, ecu and canbus stuff but cant seem to find any details on it If my engine ever went pop it would be something i would look at for sure I was so tempted as He has the engine complete with ECU and loom for £1500. If my engine had gone bang any other time other than christmas I would of done in in a heart beat, but Ive gone with a a full rebuild with uprated parts. Julian has said to me he wants to do a RB25 conversion on my car, so see what the funds say in the summer. I'd love to see one of the 35z-uk family do the VQ30 conversion, but not for the reasons their engine has died, cause no one likes hearing that. There is a company in the states who do a rb25 conversion kit, will try and find the site, if i was going for something like that though (big hp) i think i would go a 2jz though, kits available of the shelf and a bombproof engine, 500 - 600hp without breaking a sweat Apparently you can fit 350z heads onto the vq block as they give better breathing http://my350z.com/forum/media-share/573739-350z-2jz-swap.html WOW!

You got any pics of it in place? I'll put some up soon as I get my car back from the engine rebuild should be in the next few days,
