  5. Totally, and you dont see loads on the road like the Porsche, Audi or BMW...ive been asked a few times what it is lol!!...and a few have said 'is that a Porsche'!!! I suppose if youre not a petrolhead it does have a similar stance when you first see one.
  6. If you get the UpRev it's not needed at all, ...regardless of whether you're supercharged, turbocharged or N/A. Edit: Hurry up already btw. Don't be a chicken Gareth and get a throttle controller! It improves the experience. I have had it from long ago and also with Uprev and SC with no issues. Years ago I did a dyno pull with it to demonstrate it does not affect you figures but it did shift the curve slight to the left as expected since you increase the response. So FYI it will work if you have Uprev or any other ecu. It dors not interfere with it. Your AFR always be on target. It is not a power mod. All it does is to increase or decrease the throttle body response by altering the electronic signal from the pedal sensor to the TB. With drive by wire throttles unlike the direct response of a cable throttle the is a small " lag" and also the OEM map limits throttle response in the lower 3 gears to prevent wheel spin in bad weather. (This is what the Uprev removes) The throttle controller fools the TB to open in varying degrees depending on the mode you select. At Sport 9 mode it gives you 100% opening on all the gears and creates the responsiveness that makes the car feel more powerful. Conversely at eco7 it dumbs down the signal and therefore the response so pressing the pedal all the way down results in little opening of the TB = little air = little fuel = low power = economy. The ECU will still do it's thing depending on the air coming in and so the map is uncompromised. A lot of modern cars have a throttle controller inbuilt as standard eg the M button on the M3 though it also activated the EDC depending on your setting. AFAICR the was a DE that had Uprev on std everything and it made similar power to a car with full bolt ons and UPrev. I'm still of the opinion that UPrev will optimise your car's performance mods or no mods but the throttle controller is a must and way cheaper and gives you the feeling of power which is what everyone is looking for. The problem is people have been wanting huge power gains out of UPrev and get disappointed. You want power then go FI simples. thanks for this, very informative and not too much technical bumph that i cant understand lol!! May look at doing this rather than uprev although without uprev my bolt-ons and de-cats a a little pointless i guess.

Well a nothing post really but just had my Zed in for an MOT, happily passed with flying colours (relief) and i said to the guy, how did she do, he replied 'shes fine, nothing to worry about, what a gorgeous looking car by the way'. Well that made my day!!...considering i was surrounded by a couple of Porsches and an AMG!! And it did amuse me that the AMG owner was sneekily espying my Zed from the corner of his eye!!...Anyway, thats that...boring topic i know but its nice when you get a compliment!!...I still think the Zed is one of the best looking cars around!! Over an out.
  10. Id like to know how much difference de cats make to an uprev, maybe some are just not modding enough to make a difference after having an uprev done. I suppose the more mods you do the more gains youll get. id have thought fitting de cats with xyz y pipe plus the usual filters, plenum spacers etc etc would produce more noticable gains than not de catting and y piping!!
  11. Speak to Payco, a decent fitment is a make or breaker, RT supply fit and spray the charge speed, they know what theyre doing. Im really fussy and gotta say the job they did for him was factory like and the colour match is spot on. Top notch. As for the strosek, Tarmac i think are supplying a good copy for around £300 i think!! Best spoiler imo.
  12. Payco has a customised one,RT did it! Looks great! yup he changed his to fit with the ark, Ive seen it up close, looks factory, RT did a real pro job, i wouldnt go anywhere else after seeing their workmanship.
  13. Payco fitted an ark, had to amend his charge speed to get the best out of it...looks the dogs danglies!

  15. All id say is take your time, PistonHeads is a good site to visit, but dont just buy the first one you see. Check out 4 or 5 and get the feel of each one, also personally id check out the owner too...if they have money then they have money to look after the car!! a bit controversial maybe but keep it in the back of your mind!!

I swapped my cd part of the unit with another oem cd unit, bulletmagnet fitted it for me, works fine now. you need to remove the old unit which comes out in one piece and then from there, remove the cd player part and install a replacement. If you replace the whole unit you'll find it wont work due to coding.
  17. You don't HAVE to remap once you've added the mods... But does the ecu stop any changes to performance from taking place? As in override them?
  18. Im thinking about getting an uprev, i have some motordyne art pipe decats ready to fit, then xyz hfc y pipe, plenum spacer done, custom 3" midpipe and pipercross filter fitted. So now im in a catch 22!!...do it fit the decats and y pipe and leave it...wondering if the upgrades will make a blind bit of difference without uprev or do i fit them and go for uprev!!? Im sure the ecu cancels any upgrades including decats and just reverts back to standard so you dont get any gains...if you DONT uprev!! HELP!!!!!
