Trying to keep stock tyres which is whats causing the ball ache. Could always just cough up and put the rear tyres on the fronts and get wider wheels/ new tyres, it's going to ruin me financially for the month if I do that tho.
-
Apparantly not. I've noticed this size is available on rimstyles website and it says it will fit the 350Z with brembos. it might look a little weak tho and lost in the arch, if I go for these sizes i'll end up getting spacers anyway at some point no doubt.
-
I googled too and i couldnt find any with 8.5 up front. it appears they run 9.5 et 20 all round? I hope your right because 8.5 up front would mean i can run stock tyres without silly stretch. Gonna ring about tomorrow and try to get some clarification
-
Good point fella, I'll be catious. I've spoke to people at rimstyle and demontweeks who stated the et12's will be ok with the brembos but I'll try and get confirmation from someone who actually runs them.
-
The yanks all seem to run rota torques 9.5 et20 up front without spacers so the et12's should be fine? Whoever sent the e-mail didn't mention spacers either.

Not to fussy on make don't want to go lower than 20mm to avoid needing camber arms etc..... I'm based in Newcastle and will pay for postage if needs be

To be honest I'm all for a bit of a play if the roads and conditions are right for it and the other driver is not driving like a pr*ck (up to the speed limit of course). Saying that 90% of the attention I get in the Z is from nob heads who want to tail me aggresively and try to instigate something, usually on roads completely unsuitable for it. I litteraly can't go from A to B without encountering one of these idiots but I live in a pretty bad area unfortunately. I got overtook by someone in a rx8 last week actually and he crashed trying to drift around the roundabout infront of me, hillarious!

Yea it was for the 18's Thrown a spanner in the works there fella! The JR11's look very nice for the money. I must say tho the "hyper black" rota torques look awesome too tho, think the colour would look great on a silver Z. Gonna pop down to revolution motorstore in newcastle on the weekend as they stock loads of wheels, will be good to see em in the flesh.

Quick update on this. I e-mailed driftworks asking a few things and they said et12 wont fit without arch work and I will need camber arms etc etc....I'm confident thats wrong and I didn't much care for the way the email was wored to be honest so I'm probably going to put my order in elsewhere. Due to needing work on the type R coilovers will be off the menu for the time being so I'm looking at springs. I'm thinking of going for the tein s.techs as the drop is subtle and shouldn't cause any issues with scrapping/rubbing etc.

Wow, I know the fuel guage is pretty useless but it's very unnerving driving about when the needle is flat bottom. Looks like I should be ok tho, fingers crossed.
-
Oh dear! I've set off for work this morning in a bit of a hurry and left my cash in the house. It's about a 7 mile drive and pretty congested with traffic. The fuel guage started showing - - - - about two mile into my journey this morning. Got in to work ok but I really don't fancy breaking down on the A1 in rush hour traffic on my way home. I really need to work on my organization skills haha.... Soooo who thinks I'll make it then?
-
I'm not to sure fella, swaying towards the bronze at the minute, think it will look good on a silver Z. Also looking at coilovers but I really do need to curb my spending or the mrs may kill me.

Interestingly enough those wheels are the rota torques and I have a thread running about them on here. This might be of use to you http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/94888-rota-torque-et12/ Bassicly tho if you go 9.5 et12 all round you will get a bit of poke and your stock tyres will fit tho they will be quite stretched.
-
Awesome. Still cant view pictures as they block them on my computer at work but I'll check then out as soon as i finish
-
I have 225's on my fronts and 245's on my 10.5J rears and they fit with some stretching! If you have life in them you may as well keep them for now. Nice one, at least I know I can do that if needs be. Tho now that you've said it I'm sure we've had this conversation before haha! I really need to try and track down a picture of someone running rota torque 18 9.5 et12 all round to help me make a decision but I cant find one anywhere, all the yanks seem to run et20. I'm starting to think it might look better with a et30 wheel up front with a small spacer. rather than having equal poke on the front and back.
-
I think the ET12's should clear. Someone on here bought them in 9.5 et30 and needed a ten mill spacer to clear them. So if I'm right in what I'm thinking thats pretty much a 9.5 et20. My other thoughts are if I should run the stock tyres all round until they wear out and then buy the correct sizes or should I stick the rear tyres on the front and just buy new rears. That way I could use the correct sizes (but also spend more ££££). I'm sure the stock 225 front will fit on a 9.5j anyway but not sure if it will look right? It's hard to picture, it could potentialy look really good if the car was slammed.
-
Very usefull thanks! I'm at work so cant actually view the picture but I'll check it out when I get on a different computer later on. I'm currently browsing tyrestretch.com to see if my stock tyres will fit and it looks like they should go on no problems. Some people on driftworks running silly stretch and they drive their cars much harder than I will.

It's that time again where I'm thinking of ways to spend my paycheck before it's even arrived Anyway, I've kind of went off the idea of rota GTR's and have started swaying towards the rota torques again. Driftworks do them in either 18" 9.5 et12 or et30, they also do a 8.5 et30. I quite liked idea of having the 8.5's up front so they would have the flat spokes and the 9.5's on the back. I've done a bit of research on here and it would seem the 8.5 et30's would not clear the brembos up front? Which would mean getting spacers and I want to avoid that. I could just run 9.5 et12 all round but I'm a bit worried the fronts would poke to much and look daft? Does anyone on here run them? I have searched but can't seem to find anything. Also as before I'm planning on running stock sized tyres until they run out so thats also worth a mention. Sorry to be a pain the arse and make probably my 5th wheel topic since buying the car

What are you currently doing / done / or thinking about doing ???

At work. Thinking about not being at work. -
Mines an 04 on 72,000. So about 6,545 miles a year on average. Saying that when I bought it about 18 month ago it was on 56,000. So I've used it way more than the previous owner.

As above. Lesson learnt the hard way I'm afraid

Catalytic converter failing, thinking over options.....
nowhereboy replied to nowhereboy's topic in Exhaust
Cheers mark, the noise has mysteriously vanished this morning. I'll report back if it re-appears -
I've always ran my car on super but I can't help but wonder if the risks are exagerated. Is it not likely that many of our cars have been ran on 95ron for weeks/months or even years before us owning them? It's pretty rare an engine lets go on this forum, I kind of understand the OP's point of view in his original post. Edit - Not disputing that it's harmfull to the engine but just questioning if it's as serious as people make it out to be.

I'll double check tonight just incase it is the heat shield. I don't have a credit card or an overdraft, I'm not in any debt or anything so could happily buy the HFC's on finance if I could find a shop that allows that, I'd just pay them off next month. Driftworks don't do them, I'm not aware of any other places to try.
