  1. Right, here's just a little more detail on which wires are what and what to do, AFTER the head unit is removed. Firstly, work out which 8 wires from the Head Unit are the positive and negative wires which connect to speakers and sub. 4 Pairs = 8 wires..... The very thin solid coloured wires (White, Grey, Green, Purple) are positive, and the same coloured counterparts with a solid black line (White with black line, Grey with black line, Green with black line, Purple with black line) Secondly, grab the 4 pre-out (phono cables as otherwise known) and cut the heads off (cut the adaptors off). Resulting in cables looking like this; FINALLY Crimp or solder, solid coloured wires from the Head Unit to solid coloured wires from the Pre-out cables. AND, do exactly the same with the Coloured cable with a black line on them to the bare negative copper wire from the Pre-out cables....... REMEMBER after soldering or crimping to wrap any exposed metal from the completed wires in insulating tape...... IF you want to find out which colours, relate to which speaker, grab a AAA battery and put the bare copper negative wire on the battery (either end) and tap the positive bare copper part of the wire on the other... you will hear a slight pop,pop,pop,pop....... This is a guide only, if you damage anything, i cannot be held responsible !!! So hope this help, I actually had alot of fun carrying out this mod... makes me think that im actually in the wrong profession as this was quite enjoyable!!! Smokey(the Zed) and tommybandit
  2. Ha, yeah. But untill payday arrives I'm screwed, just bought berks hfc off of Tarmac. Missus, has my nuts in a vice at the moment.... Got any recommendations on a suitable amp + sub replacement? ..... As I'm sure I can find some funds somewhere
  3. Hey all, I followed busters method of hijacking the pre outs and crimped(instead of soldered) to the 8speaker wires (+\-) coming out the aftermarket pioneer wiring harness..... Once which wires were identified ... Was a piece of cake! 1 hour 30 mins later, the centre console was back on, and my ears bleeding before the volume knob hit 20/40.... And surprisingly, only using Bose speakers, amp and sub.... It wasn't half bad!! No distortion at this level, and a solid bass. (But there's always room for more bass ) ... I have a few pictures that I will upload if any one needs a visual rep of what to look for. But credit goes to buster and his zed shed antics.
  4. Haha that's the spirit!! Could you pm me payment details? Very excited now. Christmas come early
  5. Btw, am I too late to grab some DE's? Ill wait till the next group buy if so
  6. Definitely doing the wiring mod, the thread i found was from the Zed Shed..... It seems pretty easy to follow in terms of the pictures, however, lacking descriptions :-\
  7. just realised since starting this thread i've had no notifications through saying anyone had replied.... so i spent my fund on new tyres...... how silly do i feel right now hahahaha.... euuuurgh.
  8. Hey all, Looking to replace the 10 inch free air bose subwoofer, and stock amp. What recommendations, for those of you that have done so, can you offer? Also, I'll be doing a complete DIY job of it all. There any guides out there that gives me a replacement precedure? I want to use stock wiring, so that stays lol. so do i need any wiring harnesses for speaker connections or sub? I've replaced the HU with a pioneer appradio2, using pre-outs at the moment to power everything....and the system, the volume, is just pathetic!
  9. of course + she gets her own vanity mirror !! (always a unique persuasion point)
  10. From the album: Finally got me a Z

....in with the new pioneer appradio2
  11. From the album: Finally got me a Z

  12. Hey guys, As per title and who organises it etc? As I'm dammmmn interested in these berks hfc! All positive reviews from everyone! Tommy!
  13. Awesome. Great advice from zamalex. Going with the ds2500. Just working out how to pay for them :s ... Am I missing something? Is there an online store?
  14. Right, slight conundrum. I have ridiculously squealing front brakes when I apply the foot brake lightly or at slow speeds. So, I will buy new pads. My questions are: For fast road use, I was thinking EBC yellowstuff brembo. Am I in the ball park? These pads worth it? Also, do these aftermarket pads come with shims? If not, where do I get a pair from. As I want rid of the originals. Thanks guys. ! Tommy
  15. As per title .... And the blue beast sounded fantastic !!!
  16. Thank you... And just to add - My previous 4 wheeled monster is a V-Dub Caddy 1.9TD 95bhp .... So naturally, excited but scared. Any places that teach you to handle the car properly? That gives discount to 350z-uk members ?
  17. As the title says.... Very excited right now!! And Hi Everyone! First all the bose system has to go! ..... If anyone has any links to 350's that have had this done - would be greatly appreciated! (preferably, a double din touch screen!) I'm from the boarder of West Yorkshire/North Yorkshire, right outside a town called wetherby.... Any other locals near me? Tommy !
