Thank you un1eash for that useful info. I did wonder whether that was the case as I am using the Bose speakers and amp.

Where about would an rca connector for the sub get wired in?
-
Right, I have been on the incartec website and ordered the necessary leads for the new Alpine double din headunit I am getting. The headunit does have 3 pre-outs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). I do have a query though. The image of the iso lead shows the red and white phonos for the fronts and the black and yellow phonos for the rears, but where is the phono connector for the subwoofer? I'm assuming it will plug into the pre-out port on the headunit with a phono connector? Am I missing something? Apologies if this question has already been answered elsewhere.

I will be getting in touch with the company on Monday. Don't really want to take it back to them now though to be honest. I wont name and shame them just yet. I will wait to see what they say when I call them. Will keep you all posted.

Hi All, Well, I was hoping that I would be posting pictures of the centre console and door trim wrapping that I had done today by a local firm. Sadly though, I'm just too disappointed with the result to want to post any pictures. I'm gutted, I really am. I need some help. Does anyone know of anyone in the Somerset area or close to Somerset that could redo the job for me? Thanks.

Hi Guys, I'm wanting to get a new headunit and I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that you should get one with 3 pre-outs, 1 for the fronts, 1 for the rears and one for the sub-woofer. Is that right? Cheers.

Does anyone know what model the factory fitted headunit was for a GT4?
-
I echo what the previous posts have said. Very sad news, my condolences to the family.
-
Thanks for the links guys. The only problem I found with the incartec website is that when you get to the last dropdown that asks which unit you currently have installed, it assumes its a factory fitted one. When I bought the car it already had an aftermarket headunit installed and I don't have a clue what was in there previously.

Having only had my new 350Z GT4 for a few weeks now, I am naturally looking to personalise it to my own tastes. With this in mind I have been reading posts relating to which headunit to buy, etc. However, it has become apparent that it isn't quite as simple as finding a headunit you like and fitting it. There does seem to be a lot of ancillary things that need to be purchased or changed in order to get a new headunit to work correctly. I'm interested in purchasing a double din unit and have seen a wide selection for sale, but I wouldn't have the slightest clue about what else I might need or if anything would need to be changed. For a novice like me, what is the best way to go about this? Thanks.

Good news! I found a company not far from where I live that can wrap the interior for me. Will be visiting them this weekend to discuss the job and get a quote.

I was going to go for a dash kit, but just prior to purchasing one I emailed the company in question just to check that the kit would fit and unfortunately the kits they sale won't fit the GT4 model. The schematic of the dash kit looks right, but I guess there must be subtle differences. As Madmarky has suggested, I could get it painted. Unfortunately I do not have the skills to attempt that myself. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link DoogyRev. Now I can see what a yellow dash would look like, I think that's the colour I am going to go for. I though it would look too garish, but actually it works really well.
-
If I do get a dash kit then colour coding it to the vehicle would be an idea. The trouble is I can't tell from a 2 inch swatch what it would look like covering the entire centre console. My car is ultra yellow, so would a yellow dash kit work or would it be to garish, or would a Yellow Carbon Fibre kit work better?
-
Thanks for the replies. I have also been looking at dash kits. I have bought these in the past and have found them to be really good (as long as you get a good quality kit). Have a look at the image below that contains swatches of the various dash kit textures/colours I have been thinking about. Bear in mind that I do have yellow GT4, hence some of the choices. What would you choose out of these?

Hi All, I have seen a number of posts on here about how people have solved the issue of scratches, etc on the centre console. I have the same problem, not so much on the main face, but around the edges and I would really like to tidy it up. My problem is that I've never been one to attempt any kind of maintenance/repair myself. I'm not confident enough in my own ability and would much rather get someone with more experience in these things to do the job. I live in Somerset and I don't know if there is anyone relatively local to me that might be able to help me out. If anyone can offer up any contacts, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi Guys, Tuesday was a momentous day for me. I put a down payment on a 350Z GT4. Am hoping to pick it up within the next week. Pics will follow.

Thanks for the info guys.

Hi Guys, Can someone tell me the layout of the speakers in the 350z (Where they are, how many there are, etc)? Thanks
-
Thanks for the input guys. I've seen the GT4 that is for sale on here and it looks well lush and 350Ad, thanks for the link, that car looks pretty cool too. I guess I'm going to to have to do some test drving and see what's what. I will keep you posted on how it goes and will certainly post some pictures when I make my purchase.

Hi Guys, I wonder if you could offer me some advice? Basically I have 10k at my disposal to buy a 350z. I have been looking on here, ebay, autotrader to get some idea of what is out there. Whilst I can find plenty of cars within my price range, I just don't know which type of 350z to go for. Do I go for the coupe or the convertible? Do I go for a 2003/2004 model or pay a little extra for a newer model? I don't doubt that they are all great cars, but this is the first time I have had this sort of budget and I want to be sure I make the right choice. Your opinions and thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
