Cheers for the advice. I will see how the car is after the service and go from there.

I'm not getting any ECU Codes. Air Filter has been cleaned and a new MAF has been installed. Not checked the spark plugs or coil packs yet. Car is going in for a service next week anyway, so will get the garage to replace the plugs and check the coil packs at the same time. I don't get the problem when the car is stationary and idling. The problem becomes obvious when the car is being driven. It's okay for say 5/6 miles but any further than that and the car starts feeling a bit lumpy and I begin to feel slight hesitations every now and then and when I put my foot down it just feels like it's down on power.

Cheers GMBallistic. I will check with Clark Motorsport to see if they can supply the fuel pump too.

Thanks TT350, Is the fuel pump easy to get to and is it a long job to fit a replacement?
-
Hesitation on acceleration and poor performance are exactly what I am experiencing. I'll check out the manual. Thanks TT350 and Tricky-Ricky, that helps a lot.

Hi All, Currently I am currently trying to diagnose a problem with my zed. Two people who have looked at it seem to think the same, that it may well be a fuelling issue, so I have a couple of questions. The zed in question is a 350Z GT4 (2005). 1. What would the symptoms be if the fuel pump starts getting lazy and isn't delivering the fuel correctly? 2. How much would a new fuel pump be? 3. Where exactly is the fuel pump located and is it a big job to get at it and replace? 4. If it is a fuel issue, is there anything else that is worth checking as well? Thanks.

Been out in the car today. Definitely running rough and when I got back and parked up, I gave the car some revs and each time I heard a slight popping noise. Am wondering if a spark plug is starting to fail. Could it be that?

Hi All, Please can somebody help? For the last week or so I have been experiencing a problem with my Zed. I've taken it to my usual mechanic a couple of times and he has taken it out for a drive but claims nothing is wrong. He doesn't drive the car regularly like I do and something just doesn't feel right. I went out in the car on Saturday to give it a decent run, but two things stood out. One the engine felt like is was running a bit rough and two it just seemed to really struggle going past 60mph. It was almost like that was all it wanted to give me. What's annoying is that it's not throwing up any warning lights and isn't reporting any fault codes and I'm at that point where I wish it would, just so I know it's not just me. My mechanic checked the exhaust and all the readings came back within tolerances so didn't indicate a problem there. I have recently installed a new MAF and even gave the air filter a clean while I was at it, but this doesn't seem to have resolved the problem. I have checked the oil level, coolant levels, etc but they all seem fine. My mechanic did say that maybe the fuel pump was getting a bit lazy or it could be something to do with the Throttle body, but I don't know how you go about checking those items. I did wonder if the car had gone into what is called "limp mode" as it certainly feels like it doesn't want to be a sports car right now. It starts fine and idles quite happily and sounds really smooth, but it's once it's out on the road that the problem is noticeable. Has anyone got any ideas as it's seriously getting me down. Thanks.

Require a MAF Sensor for my 350Z. Let me know if you have one and how much. Thanks.

I have thought about that, that it might be all in my head, but when you drive the same car all the time, you can tell when it doesn't feel right. I'm getting a small degree of vibration through the steering wheel and i get vibration noises coming through the dash and some vibration noise from the back as well and when I accelerate hard, the car definitely doesn't pull like it normally does. I'm hesitant to drive it until I take it to the garage next week as if there is a problem, I don't want to risk making it worse.

Hi All, Was hoping that someone could offer some help and advice regarding an issue I am having with my zed. At the beginning of the week I noticed that the car seemed to be down on power. I took it my usual mechanic and after explaining the issue, he did wonder whether the clutch was slipping. However, after taking the car out for a drive he said the clutch seemed fine and that he couldn't see any other issues. After that I put it down to maybe the car running a bit sluggish because of the weather and with it being so hot. Thing is, I've been out in the car a few times since and am still convinced that there is some problem somewhere. I went out today and whilst the car drove fine initially, as the journey went on the car just started to feel more and more sluggish and down on power. A couple of times I gave it a sharp acceleration and the engine definitely didn't sound right. It sounded a little bit rough. I've got the car booked in again next Tuesday, but was hoping maybe somebody on the forum my have some thoughts on what it might be. It idles fine, sounds smooth enough. I'm wondering if maybe it could be an air leak or something like that. The oil pressure and temperature gauges show normal when at running temperature and as I said, when I set off initially, it's running fine. It's only after a certain distance that it starts to get more sluggish. When the mechanic looked at it previously, he checked for error codes but there weren't any and the engine warning light hasn't come on, so I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Hi Guys, I purchased a roof spoiler some time ago and had it sprayed up to match my zed. I original tried attaching it using Tiger Seal, but I couldn't get it to adhere properly so then tried 3M tape. Problem is, I just can't get a really decent seal on it, especially at the ends as it keeps bloody lifting. Can anyone offer some advice/help on how I can get it fitted properly. I will admit I'm a tad OCD when it comes to my car and it's just bugs me everytime I look at it. Thanks.

Hi All, Is it right that the driver side windscreen wiper is longer than the passenger side wiper? I'm just looking online for a set as my passenger side wiper has had it. Any recommendations on where I could get a good deal on a set? Cheers.

I haven't actually ordered my custom stickers yet, just getting a design up together at the mo and will then get them ordered. I will advise what the final cost is when I get the order in.

Thanks for the info RafsZed, that helps me out a lot. Here is the link to the custom sticker company. http://www.signdezine.co.uk/vinyl_graphics/proddetail.php?prod=3D-Domed-Gel-custom-design-wheelcenter

Hi All, I found a post on the forum which had a link to a company who can custom make stickers for the wheel centre caps. This is something I'd love to do, however I have a GT4 and the oem wheels come with standard Nissan centre caps which aren't flat so wouldn't be ideal for the job. Does anyone know of a company online maybe where I can buy some custom blank centre caps that I can then fit my custom stickers into? Thanks.

Cheers guys. I'm going to be looking at new wheels in the next week or two and will post up some pics of any that take my fancy and the offset info so I can gauge what will and wont work.

Welcome aboard. Doesn't take long for zeditis to hit. LOL.

I do like the performance of my zed, but on balance I personally prefer spending money on the styling. From what you guys have said though, the change to 19's wouldn't really have much of an impact anyway and I have to admit, I would like to go down that route. Couple of queries though out of interest. 1. Will I need to roll the arches or anything or will 19" 275's and 245's fit without any modifications needed. 2. I do also currently have wheel spacers fitted so that my current OEM 18" wheels sit flush with the arches. Do you think I will be able to lose these as I am increasing the wheel and tyre sizes? Thanks.
-
Thanks for the info ATTAK Z. I've just been doing some calculations and came up with the following. This is based on going from 18" alloys to 19" alloys on the rears as an example. Rolling Radius for current rears (245/45/18) = 13.34055 Inches Rolling Radius for new rears (265/35/19) = 13.15158 Inches Percentage Difference: 1.416 % I did find though that increasing the new tyre width to 275 would reduce the difference to 0.383%. But then I don't know if that will affect the balance drastically. My current wheels are 225's at the front and 245's at the rear, a difference of 20mm. So I'm wondering if keeping the difference to 20mm between the front and rears will help maintain the proper balance. 265's on the rear and 245's on the front for example.
