Hi All, Can someone tell me what this is? I have noticed it before, but it's only now that I've become curious as to why it's there. I thought it was some repair job that was done to the car before I owned it, but having looked at other pictures of zeds online, I've noticed that they also have a panel like this. It's only on one side of the car and I'm assuming it's there for a reason. Thanks.

Hi All, Just thought I would post the latest update regarding my zed. As some of you know I have been experiencing a few issues with my zed. I am getting vibration coming through the steering wheel, pedals and gear stick. You can feel the excess vibration even when the car is stationary and just idling and it feels down on performance when under load. I have to date taken it to two garages and both have taken the car out for a drive. Of course, because they don't drive my zed as often as me, they can't compare what the car was like to how it is now. They have both said that they can feel the vibration but as far as they are concerned it's not an issue at this time. So their advice is to carry on driving it until something more noticeable happens, which will hopefully enable them to pinpoint exactly where the problem is. That's fine, but my main concern is that continuing to drive it around might risk the problem getting worse and by the time something does go wrong, it might have caused more damage and will cost me a lot more money to repair. Both have suggested that it might be the DMF, in which case is continuing to drive the car the wisest move anyway as I don't want that giving out and possibly damaging other parts in the process. I have also called Ross at Dragon Performance as another forum member suggested. He advised that I first find a local garage with a rolling road and get them to give it a run on that to see how it is performing. It has been on a rolling road before, but again with there being a problem with my zed at the moment, I'm worried about the risk of causing further damage by giving it a run on a rolling road. I just wish the garages I took it too didn't just rely on taking it for a drive to find the problem. I'm no expert, but there is a lot more vibration in the cabin than usual, so I thought that maybe something underneath the car might have come loose or was worn. But neither garage seemed interested in putting the car on a ramp and checking to see if there were any loose linkages, worn bearings, etc. So right now, I am driving my zed, but certainly not enjoying it, waiting for something to go wrong.

Hi All, In relation to the pods at the top of the centre console, does anyone by any chance have a template document or something of the recesses below them. The problem I have is that a while ago I got my centre console dipped and the pod recesses were also done. However, I think the process on the recesses didn't quite work as sunlight has affected them and they are starting to crack and today as I was cleaning the interior of my car, a piece actually chipped off. I don't really want to be taking the console off right now, so as a quick fix I thought I'd get some adhesive vinyl or carbon wrap and simply cut out the required shapes and stick it over the top. With the shape being a bit awkward, I just wondered if anyone on here had ever created a template for these. Thanks.

Think I got to the bottom of it ... Sort of.

Thanks. I've got the number for Dragon Performance. Will give them a call on Monday. Has anyone else ever taken their zed to them? -

Thanks for the offer TT350. Unfortunately I live way down in Somerset. That's why I thought about the guys at the zed shed. It's still a bit of a drive, but they are probably the closest too me. -

How can I get in touch with the guys at the Zed Shed? -
Hi All, Recently I have posted on here a couple of times because I have been having issues with my zed. I've pretty much cancelled out any problems with the performance or electrics. The most noticeable problem is that I am getting more vibration through the gear stick than normal and I also feel a slight constant vibration through the steering wheel and whilst you do get the occasional squeak from the cabin, there is a lot more creaking and groaning than normal from around the car. The vibrations do occur even when the car is parked, in neutral and just idling. I've looked at various posts online where people have had similar issues and some people say it could be the DMF and others say it could be an engine mount, gearbox mount or some joint that might be worn. Going on what I have said above, what do you guys think?

Been wondering why my car has been down on power recently and getting other related issues. But now I'm beginning to suspect the clutch or flywheel. Am getting a lot more vibration through the gearstick and can also feel a knocking. Went out in my zed early and when watching the mph and revs, I could swear that the mph wasn't climbing at the right rate although the revs were. Got a horrible feeling I'm right. What do you reckon?

Hi Guys, Just a quick question. Can anyone recommend any good zed mechanics in Somerset (if there are any in Somerset)? Thanks.

Hi Guys, Well as strange as this might sound, I've finally got a noticeable issue with my car which I'm happy about. Came home from a drive earlier and parked up, went out about 10 minutes later and started the car up and while idling, the revs dropped and the engine juddered as if it was going to cut out, but then it caught again and was fine. This happened a couple of times. I went out again about 15 minutes later to give it another try and it did exactly the same thing. Spoke to my mechanic who said it could be a coil pack, but he thought this would throw up the CEL and generate an error code. If it's not that then he is thinking it's a fuelling issue relating to a problem with the fuel pump. What do you think?

I had just pulled out of the drive way and moving about 10mph. Once I got going the sound went. Heard it again a couple of hours later, again I was just setting off.

Still trying to get to the bottom of an issue with my zed and today when I took the car out I heard what can only be described as an jet airplane sound. There weren't any in the sky before anyone asks. There does seem to be an increase in vibration as well when driving the car. Could the noise and vibration be a bearing going or something?

Hi ZMANALEX, I have just hooked up my OBD2 adapter and got the following readings with the engine idling. Fuel Trim Bank 1 Sensor 1 reading at around 19/20 % Fuel Trim Bank 1 Sensor 2 reading at around 99% Fuel Trim Bank 2 Sensor 1 reading at around 19/20% Fuel Trim Bank 2 Sensor 2 reading at around 99% As for the O2 sensors, I'm getting the following: Bank 1 Sensor 1 - 0.3 V Bank 1 Sensor 2 - 0.3 V - This remains static when engine is revved Bank 2 Sensor 1 - 0.6 V Bank 2 Sensor 2 - 0.3 V - This remains static when engine is revved I do note that Bank 2 Sensor 1 is reading at 0.6 Volts whereas all the others are reading at 0.3 Volts, which to my untrained eye indicates an issue. What do you think?

Thanks ZMANALEX, I wish it was reporting an error code. That's what is annoying. There is definitely a problem there, but whatever it is, it's not registering any codes. If it's not the pump, then could it possibly be a blockage in a fuel line or something? I'm running out of ideas. The MAF has been replaced, the air filter has been cleaned, new spark plugs went in on Thursday, Engine flush has been added. I got the garage to give the car a thorough check over as well to see if there were any obvious surface issues, but they said it was all fine. The engine idles well enough when the car is stationary, but the problems with lack of power and hesitation come when the engine is under load and has got to operating temperature. It's certainly noticable when driving up hill, it struggles more and I find myself having to change down to a lower gear then normal.
-
Thanks for the info Gmballistic. Can someone give me an idea on how long a job it is to replace the fuel pump? I wouldn't attempt it myself, but just want to know how difficult a job it is so I can estimate roughly what labour my local garage would charge.
-
Am I right about the location of the Fuel Pump and how to access it?
-
Where exactly is the fuel filter? I have read that's it's in the same location as the fuel pump. Am I right in saying that the fuel pump is in the fuel tank and can be accessed via the sub woofer compartment?
-
Hi All, A short while ago I posted on here as I was trying to diagnose a problem with my car where it is down on power and is occasionally experiencing hesitation. So far I have changed the MAF, cleaned the air filter, had car serviced today so spark plugs have been changed, etc and the rest of the car has been checked over too. I was hoping that all the above might of sorted the problem, but alas no. I went out for a drive in my zed earlier and the problem still exists. Having read some articles online, the symptoms are in line with what you would expect if the fuel pump was malfunctioning. One article stated that the engine might idle fine when stationary, but will lose power and experience hesitation when under load which is exactly what is happening. I'm becoming more and more convinced that this is where the problem lies. It obviously hasn't failed completely as the car does start, but I get the feeling that it might be on it's way out and if it's not sorted, it will get to the point where it will stop working altogether. I'm not mechanically minded and my knowledge is quite limited, but are there any tests a novice like me can perform to determine if there is indeed a problem with the fuel pump? Thanks.

Thanks for the help guys. Appreciate it.

I'm going to spray them matt black. It's actually a spare set that I bought a while ago. So they will be replacing the ones that are currently on my zed.
-
Hi Guys, Just a quick question. I'm wanting to spray up my Passenger side and Drive side Door Switch panels and just trying to work out how many spray paint cans I will need. There is the primer, the actual colour and then the Lacquer. How may cans of each do you think I will need? Cheers.

Like the pics. I'm fairly local to Cheddar myself. Didn't realise so many people owned zeds down this way. Lol. -
