  6. Are you sure that's the one that fits to the top of the engine, only it looks suspiciously like the Stillen one that fits further down under the power steering reservoir? And the Stillen one is a bitch to fit!!
  7. Or just have a roadster
  8. I have a personalised reg, A * BAX I used to have it on an old red XR2, I saw one day A* BAX on another red XR2, one number lower than mine, now that's just weird!!!!
  9. Mick-r1 The Stillen kit is different it attaches further down under the power steering fluid reservoir. There is a guide to fitting it on the Stillen website. It is a pain in the butt to do tho and the instructions appeared to me to be a bit vague.
  10. Yes you will need to bleed the brakes after replacing the hoses. Take it as an opportunity to put some good quality dot 5 or 4.1 in there while you are at it. Its not a particularly difficult job at all to bleed brakes but you really need 2 people to do it, one to push and hold the brake pedal and one to loosen and tighten the bleed nipple on each of the calipers. You will need - brake fluid (make sure it has not been shaken up!!! IMPORTANT), a jamjar and length of rubber hose to direct the fluid from the bleed nipple to the jar, a correct sized ring spanner for the nipple. Its probably a good idea to wear surgical gloves as brake fluid is nasty nasty stuff!! Wash off immediately if you get it anywhere but into the jar!! I'm pretty sure there will be loads of foolproof guides on the internet. Good luck - its really not that hard to do.
  11. I doubt there's a bleed for the system, just empty it by removing the plug at the bottom of the radiator, let the liquid out (it's only a mix of water and anti-freeze - and probably a bit of rust and sh*t it has picked up during its life going round the system). Put the plug back in tightly then refill until it reaches the top where the filler cap is. Turn the engine over, turn it off and recheck to see if it needs topping up. Then after a short run letting the engine get up to temperature recheck WHEN THE RADIATOR FEELS COOL ENOUGH!!!! Top up if needed. You cannot overfill it and it probably won't make any difference if its not totally full, there's an overflow bottle that allows a little expansion and contraction of the contents. EDIT - Remember to replace the fluid with the correct mix of (I think its ionised) water and the correct antifreeze. This is important to use the correct one as it can corrode the matrix if not causing failure in the future.
  12. I know its not what yr after but I cycle to the local and back almost every night and apart from the usual cycle lights these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004TG3Q52/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 are fantastic for your personal safety, cheap as you like too!! I think these ought to be a legal requirement on bikes. And I have not been stopped by the police since fitting despite it being a regular thing prior to fitting them!!
  13. I'm in Knutsford so fairly local Apparently there's a bit of a meet going on at the Tatton Park car show next Sunday. I will try to be there in the afternoon.
  14. Humm, I'm not that well organised I'm afraid Besides I'll probably not surface until mid-afternoon.
  15. Ohhhh I might pop over and see you if I'm around, I live in Knutsford. We usually sneak into the shows thru the 'local knowledge' entrance.
