  1. OY I'm in Knutsford I keep seeing Z's and acknowledging them but getting ignored ..... maybe it's 'cause I've a roadster
  2. http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/dash_removal/ Pretty simple job, the electrical connectors being the hardest part IMHO, it gives you a little more room for working if you pry out the connecting wire loom at the top centre behind the dials.
  3. If you are planning on going that far then these 2 places have good reputations. (sorry for F/B links ) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Grinspeed-Motorsport/155836981151410?hc_location=stream https://www.facebook.com/TDiNorth
  4. You do know the little button by the window switches disables the passenger window don't you? (My thinking that you could possibly be hitting this occasionally).
  5. Berks HFC's seem to go pretty well ZMan (not that I'm after a pair myself ........ much ). And didn't those bonnets with the hump go well too?
  6. Just as an add on, check you horn!! My airbag warning light has been doing its 'thing' for a while, after checking the seat plugs etc and many resets it was still flashing. Then the other day I went to beep the horn and it wasn't working, so after fiddling around with the wiring in there getting it to work now the reset on the airbag light works, must have been a dodgy connection up there.
  7. Yes, sounds like your current ones are f**ked. Zman Alex is the guy to deal with as this is a great product. Yes you could import for less but after being stung with import duties etc then it works out as false saving. If you can afford it then get both the radiator and the fans the car seems to be happier running a little cooler. Nearly £1000 sounds extremely steep just to replace the fans, I would suggest trying to find a local independent garage to do the work for you - although its not a massive job and you could probably do it yourself.
  8. Has it actually been overheating or just getting hot, these cars do tend to run hot comparatively. Personally I would use it as an excuse to upgrade the oem radiator for something like the Mishimoto one which does work. Although with the onset of the winter I suspect that overheating problems are not going to be a problem.
  9. Locking nuts off first and on last and don't do them up too tightly after. If you use a trolly jack then make a wooden block with a groove cut in it so as not to damage the sill around the jacking point. Break the nuts before jacking and tighten fully when off the jack. There's probably more advice along soon................
  10. Looks like a Motordyne to me
  11. Well there are not that many different basic mods are there? We have induction and exhaust basically. Induction can be a combination of hi flow filter or popcharger, plenum spacer (I think there's 2 or 3 different sizes) or plenum itself. Exhaust can be manifold, HFC or decat, Y-pipes or back box or any combination of these. I suspect there's not a massive difference between the quality makes of these in terms of flowing. Of course things get more complicated when you start adding lightened flywheel, and pulleys or internal work. From what i gather these guys have rolling roaded a few 350z's with various combinations of these mods so have a fairly accurate idea of the mapping needed. As I said in my first post on this thread it is NEVER going to be as good as a bespoke rolling road Rev-up, EVER. There is the point thought that when Nissan roll out several million 350z's each one has not been rolling roaded and mapped, they all run on a pre set generic map that Nissan have created with a few parameters, i.e. Reasonable fuel consumption vs power and well within safety limits of how lean or rich the engine runs at specific loads. I think of this unit as a slightly better map created for people who like to alter their cars for improvement over standard. (You can also ((apparently)) get the unit updated online as you change your mods!). This unit has other advantages as well though, you can check and reset error codes, alter the rev limit, get rid of the nanny on 1st/ 2nd gear acceleration. It also saves your original car map so you can revert to it if you remove the mods. (It might do other stuff too I have it on the back burner while I'm sorting some other stuff out ).
  12. No the device is car specific, you have to send your VIN and mods list to the parent company and it will only recognise that vehicle, (hence why I am waiting for the exhaust setup to finish) sorry guys, yeah if it was that easy
  13. I have one of these, but yet to install until the exhaust is finished, the parent company seem good to deal with though and it is car and mod specific. It will never be as accurate as a full on rolling road setup - ever, like an Uprev, but the reviews seem to be ok. I'm hoping .
  14. I had this once where I couldn't find the leak and the fluids were not going down either. Turned out to be the run off for the air-con - boy did I feel a complete retard?
  15. It's a bit dodgy that both the links have the same content one being in USA and the other UK based!! As said the USA company I have had a bit of dialogue with and they appear ligit', anyone had any dealings with CDF Racing, are they for real?
  16. I actually Emailed them to tell them they had the y-pipe upside down, apparently they already knew that and it was laid out like that so it would all fit in the picture. Seems cheap enough though, they quoted me $300 shipping to UK. Edit, sorry this was the listing I wrote to : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231035980514
  17. I am in the process of upgrading mine ATM. Double DIN headunit: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171030204354 + £18 import tax, interface between the Bose connectors and new unit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251334534122?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 , Reversing camera: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260823513124?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 . Also hard wired in HUD unit : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130701567844?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 which is awesome All done with help from this and the US forums, taken a few hours but it works really well and is loads better than the standard unit.
  18. Thanks for this, you just solved my exact same dilemma - top work dude
  19. Didn't the 280zx have a T-Top varient too?
  20. The convertible version of the 350Z - known as the Roadster - retains the rewarding driving characteristics of the coupe model along with the same punchy engine, but features an electrically-folding fabric roof which retracts in just 20 seconds. The model was actually developed to be a convertible as well as a coupe from the start and as a result it drives just as well with virtually no body shake, even over rough roads. Like the coupe it is also great value for money while changes in 2006 included more engine power and improved interior quality. It was upgraded again in 2007 with an extensively modified engine identified by a bulging bonnet. Parkers Ratings Sorry s**te copy and pasting

  22. Those wheels on the beast on the trailer at the front are freakin' awesome , anyone know what they are? .... Please
  23. coldel, on 19 September 2013 - 13:08, said: The problem with some roadsters is when they were meant to be coupes and to get to the roadster they simply cut the top off. It mostly looks a bit odd. I was under the impression that the roadster was designed as a roadster, not a chopped coupe!!
  24. Thanks for the link there Vlad, I was looking for one of these.
