  1. Cough cough: http://www.jpexhausts.co.uk/
  2. DO NOT USE API ~ Only imo but they cost me thousands of pounds on my JDM Impreza after I had them rebuild my engine. I know it's different because you would be buying a second hand engine from them but honestly I wouldn't risk it. Not just me that's had problems with them either. My best mate had them rebuild his JDM Impreza's engine as well and they f**ked that up too. Please do not use them!! You'd be in much better, safer and more trustworthy hands using Clark Motorsport imo. Just give Ewan a call or PM and I'm sure he'll sort you out. http://www.350z-uk.c...ark-motorsport/ http://www.clarkmoto...(Bare)-u/113339 EDIT: Engines built by API Impreza do not last ~ they will blow up. That really surprises me as I had no problems. Maybe that's the difference between buying a recon and having an old one reconned. If Zedman has one than yea always go with him.
  3. Give these guys a call: http://www.apiengines.com/petrol.php They don't list the Z but probably do it, They are reliable trustworthy and cheap, not a thing you can say about many in their business. In the long run it'd probably cheaper for you to get a recon with the 6 month warranty than having your old one rebuilt. API do it on an exchange basis and their engines are usually brought over from Japan taken from low mileage well looked after cars that have been scrapped due to their crazy MOT/tax laws over there (same reason grey imports are so cheap).
  4. I have this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008ES75ZS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - can't fault it.
  5. For what he wants a bridge camera is perfect. I have tried the Nikon,Canon and Fuji's and pound for pound the Fuji's are light years ahead, and in some cases way better then the best the 'big two' can offer. OP, read the reviews on the Amazon page I linked to earlier and see if that sounds like what you are after.
  6. It sounds to me like the OP has not the first clue about cameras. A DSLR is not what he wants he needs something simple and easy to use for decent results.I would suggest one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004G8Q61E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=32B70XP4Z9FZG&coliid=I36YPTS4THT911 Which would be more than adequate and serve not just for his purpose but for if he got the photography bug. It's a cracking camera for the money.
  7. '08 Gunmetal Roadster with half leather orange interior, same as mine on the market car park.
  8. The port for the reader is located by your right knee
  9. Could be the hairspring in the steering wheel, that was my problem. Something to bear in mind if you have checked everything else - the old Sherlock Holmes thing, once you have eliminated the obvious etc...... (It can be an intermittent problem if it is broken but it does need fixing - it's not too difficult).
  10. Research has also found that statistically only one in seven dwarves is happy.
  11. I posted some pix of my old Celicas on the Facebook page I have more if anyone is remotely interested to see them it's easier for me to post them there
  12. I had 4 mk 1's - a 2.0L ST, 2 2.0L GT's and a ultra rare (in UK) 1600GT, then a MK2 2.0L GT Square headlight model Got some pix somewhere when I can be assed to copy them
  13. It goes up every year if you stay with the same insurer. They are trying it on, give them a call and you will get it back down. Insurers these days have no concept of long-term customer loyalty as apparently 'everyone' shops around every renewal time. This is a ploy to catch out the lazy who just accept the new higher price and tick the box. I'd recommend you try Adrian Flux for a quote first, then ring Swift and negotiate from there. Yea it's a pain in the butt and time consuming but insurers while all wanting the business also want to charge as much as they can get away with. P.S. There was an insurer on the 350Z Facebook page the other day touting for business I'll see if I can link you. https://www.facebook...escheme?fref=nf Knotty is touting here too: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/87749-been-quoted-more-than-200/
  14. SVM make some awesome bits of machinery. One of their GTR's did almost 228mph at one of the VMax's.
  15. I still have that album, a lot scratched tho it was my parents tho = but I;m 53
  16. I was just staggering from a bar to my other local and I heard a V8 burble, a Jensen S V8 silver, wow, I thought it was ugly as ... but apparently they are pretty rare. I was too slow to get a pic
  17. Haha, coincidentally I just nearly ran over a vixen on my bike on the way home from the pub after the footie Mind you I was on the pavement (not safe to cycle on the road after a few beers - it IS the A50 ). See loads of foxes round here (animal variety I'm talking ) but rarely badgers these days.
  18. Well, I checked for residual codes with my other diagnostic tool and there's none stored. Now considering I have never cleared them, just reset the ECL that shows it is just an intermittent problem to do with probably the O2 sensors in my new Berks reading that something is happening outside of the generic map that it can't account for, or is outside the standard mapping parameters. As the problem is intermittent I am not particularly bothered by it personally, I will get it UpReved at some point and I'm pretty sure that that will sort it. OP, if I were you I'd just get hold of a cheap OBD reader and resetter and do what I do and reset it every time, to be fair it's not that often and takes only a minute or so and you know what the problem is so there's no need to worry that your engine is gonna go bang! :)
  19. MDM you might have it there with the short journey/stop/restart thing. I have another code reader so I'm gonna plug that in and see if there are residual trigger codes in the system, my inline monitor ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vi-Performance-Tuning-Monitor-/261525729625?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ce425f159 ) always says there's no codes and when I reset the ECL goes off right away no issues.
  20. It's the whole thing or one of the components of it. The sensors readings are put out of the set parameters of the generic ECU map so it throws an error code due to the different characteristics of the non-standard exhaust system.. Mine is intermittent I have yet to track down what I have been driving like when the ECL comes on. It will be something like the cats or exhaust is having an effect on the O2 sensor/s.
  21. The remap doesn't disable the sensors, the light comes on for a real reason, that being - the ECU is having problems with the O2 readings or something like that. Mine is always coming on but I have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.u...5f159 fitted constantly which allows me to view the fault codes and clear them. When the engine light comes on I have checked for the codes but there's none stored so I know it's just the cat/s throwing the O2 readings for some reason. When the car is remapped with the UpRev then the map tunes the engine so that the burn on the gasses is optimised so the ECL is not triggered. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vi-Performance-Tuning-Monitor-/261525729625?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ce425f159
  22. Cheshire Oaks is nowhere near Liverpool, and it's quite a nice neighbourhood on the whole. It is really easy to get to, right off the motorway with easy connection to M6 M56 M60 A55 M53 it's not a long slog to get there. Edited to add A55 as Pete's near there too
  23. I'm sure Alex or Mark will correct me if I'm wrong but ..... I always thought that the 350Z ECU was effectively 'locked' by Nissan. Making it impossible for your 'normal' tuners to change. A 'piggyback' cuts out the original ECU and has its own maps. The Z ECU has its own maps whose parameters are set by Nissan to both ensure that the engine runs at its maximum efficiency but without any chance of damaging the engine. The licence is paid to the companies who have invested in cracking the lock on the ECU, allowing tuners to overwrite the standard Nissan maps, therefore making the map more specific to that particular vehicle. The original investment you make is both paying for the licence and then the tuners skill/rolling road time etc. Then if you change performance items on the vehicle, having already paid for the licence all you need to pay for is the other stuff.
