  1. Isn't the switch a 'rocker' 3-way switch, middle=off then the other settings are both seat and back or seat or back only? IDK I never even tried mine
  2. Who else opened this post expecting to hear of another bottom end problem Welcome to the forum Check your oil regularly
  3. I had my eye on one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150802992982?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They're a lot cheaper than the one you're looking at
  4. Ohhhh thanks for that tip
  5. JESUS. It doesnt matter what the problem is, under consumer rights you can return the car and get a full refund. Unless you want a car with an engine rebuilt by someone who doesnt car much for his customers, of course, in which case you can return it, wait 2 months and potentially go through the whole saga again. Not if you have overfilled it with oil yourself causing the failure you can't!
  6. Oil isn't the only reason that will cause an engine to fail. This will be picked up on the report. Prior to failure, did the oil light come on at all like just before it failed? did it seize? did it splutter to a halt? did it overheat? did you throw a rod through the block and leave 4 litres of oil 50 yards down the road. So, what exactly is wrong with the engine? Blown up could mean all sorts of things. Lack of oil normally results in the bearings spinning and bottom end going, I wouldn't call that blowing up! If however when the car didn't start and you then overfilled it with oil (remember they are notoriously difficult to get a proper reading unless left overnight) then that could cause all sorts of problems, especially if given a bit of welly! You need to find out EXACTLY what the engine failure is before you can accuse the vendor of participating in anything that contributed to that failure!
  7. Would have been a nice day for a blast around North Wales
  8. I've heard of them. Don't they usually do Porsche? If that's them then they're pretty decent EDIT: Yes, after a quick google, it's who I was thinking of. The owner comes to the VMax events in his Q/S liveried GT2. They do all sorts of high end car marque exhausts so I imagine they are pretty decent bits of kit. and quite exclusive too
  9. Linky no worky. Funny, works for me - try this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RX-4730-K-N-Universal-X-Stream-Clamp-On-3-FLG-6-B-5-T-6-1-2-H-KN-Universal-A-/381443044867?hash=item58cfc6f603:g:pjAAAOSwwbdWIeMi
  10. Man, lose that and get a decent sized one like this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=381125270393&view=all&tid=629683768025 You will notice the difference!

Mine's the other EBay one with the single pipe from near the flexi's. It's been on over a year and despite looking a bit sorry for itself being a bit rusty I can't fault it for the price I paid for it. It could go tomorrow and I'd be OK with VFM
  15. +Wet air OK for N/A too but obvs' not as much a difference
  16. 'Cos we're all dead nosey ...................................................... Welcome, hope you have asked for a raise to cover the inevitable
  17. Vague area could be helpful
  18. I have a Stillen lower damper fitted, my engine doesn't move much Was a PIA to fit though
  19. AH.............. I see now - that's gonna affect the brake bias
  20. Well, you learn something new every day!! Seems it's a 'thing' on some VAG cars to mount them that way. My Endless discs came in boxes marked which side they went on, that's why I noticed the difference
  21. The disc is fine, it's just on the wrong side of the car How on earth can you see that from that photo?!? The disc is grooved and drilled, you can see the direction the groove goes. Bet they wonder why they are going through brake pads really quickly?
  22. The disc is fine, it's just on the wrong side of the car
  23. I have Berks with Top Gear system and a £20 EBay special. It's been on a couple of years and is obviously cheap steel as it's looking pretty shabby. but it's still intact and doing its job. TBH at that price I'm not that bothered if it goes any time soon. I don't think you can blame the cats, decats or any other part on the failure, you have just probably had bad luck. Or, have you checked your engine mounts recently? Could be causing excessive movement!!
  24. or theres a directional tyre mounted the wrong way round. Warmer
