    Sun strips

Yeah, I'd much rather have subtle tinting film than some huge solid sticker. Cheers!

    Sun strips

Are they supposed to be opaque or translucent? I presumed I'd need one you can still see through, like sunglasses... but all the ones I've found seem to be solid stickers. Any traders here deal in them? Anyone point me in the direction of someone that does? Cheers!
  3. I can fill some of that massive void around Oxford. Though there are at last three other Zs just at my work! Witney, OX28 Grey 03 Fairlday
  4. Ewen was a big help with advice and did me a cracking deal on discs and pads. It all turned up next day, no bother, friendly service... I can't recommend highly enough
  5. Cheers all. Relieved not to have some completely random caliper on there!
  6. I've just tried to replace the pads and discs on my 03 Fairlady, but the new ones don't fit. I know I don't have the Brembo calipers because it's an import, but I've no idea what calipers are on it. The current front discs are 296mm and the rears 290mm. The Pagid ones that just turned up that were supposedly for the non-Brembo import caliper are 324 and 322. So obviously I've got smaller calipers on than normal. If I knew what calipers I had on it would make things a lot easier, but I've no idea what they are - they came with the car. No paper trace of them and not even a brand name on the caliper, just a code - 316T5D Has anyone ever had smaller calipers? Any ideas?.... Appreciate any help!
  7. Cheers, I'll give that a try. So no one has ever heard of a used motor not being able to sync to do the auto up and down?
  8. Ah you've got the same problem as me. Mine was after fitting a new (used) window motor. I heard a wild rumour it was something to do with syncing a used motor to a new car (instead of a new new motor), but I've no idea whether that's true. I just started this thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/75699-re-set-window-motor/ in case the answer turns up in there
  9. So you fit a new motor and need to re-set it to make it automatically move and down a bit when you open/close the door... I've re-set it but it only moves down when I open the door. It doesn't go back up when I close it. And it keeps dropping it every time, even if it's already below the seal, so after about six door openings the window is fully open. Also means I have to put it back up with the switch every time someone opens the door. Have I missed something in the re-set procedure? I did hear that used motors can never be fully re-synced with a different car, so it will never go back up. That sounds like a very stupid way to build a car, but would explain it...
  10. I wouldn't want to put carbon ones on mine, and I'm not getting the impression that hundreds of people would be beating down my door to buy them, so I think I'll still with the black ones. Cheers!
  11. Yeah, that's half the trouble, I can't find any photos of Rota GTRs in carbon to see what they'd look like
  12. Nearly new, less than 5k miles. The only imperfection is a slight scuff to the coat of the top of one of the rears. I've tried to show it in the pic. I've had a scout around and brand new ones are going for £250 on eBay/Demon Tweeks etc... How does £180 + postage (or collection from Oxfordshire) sound? (I also have 25mm rear spacers. Shout if you want those too.)
  13. I'm just after some opinions of the masses really. What do y'all think about hydro-dipped carbon fibre wheels? In case you're not familiar, this link shows some examples: http://goo.gl/QP3pOl - not my site btw & not my image below, both just Googled. (To clarify it isn't real carbon fibre, just effect). I think lot of smaller accessory type parts look really good with the carbon fibre wrap, but I can't make my mind up about the wheels. They're either mega or horribly tacky... It's always hard to tell what you'll think before you see them on your car, by which time it's too late! I've got a set of black Rota GTRs that need a refurb. I've got access to a hydro dipping tank and can get them done in carbon fibre for the same price as getting a normal refurb. I don't know which way to go.... and since I will probably end up selling the wheels anyway, I ought to think about which will be easier/harder to sell, or worth more/less... Opinions welcome
  14. I'm in Witney, but don't mind a bit of distance... Probably less than Leicester though!
  15. While we're on the subject of tyre size... what would people advise on changing from the standard? I want to keep 45 profile because I've gone back to standard springs (was previous lowered) and the gap in the arch looks like a 4x4 now with 40! I don't use the car on track, so I don't see the point in going beyond the standard width for a change that I can only imagine would be negligible in any road driving. That is, unless anyone has a "I fitted slightly wider tyres and it changed my life" stories....
  16. Thanks for that. Explains a lot!
  17. I don't have a great deal of faith leaving the well-being of my Z in the hands of generic garages. Can anyone anywhere near Oxfordshire recommend somewhere knowledgeable, tried and trusted?
  18. Same issue as many before me have had - the Nismo spoiler weight means the standard struts don't hold the boot up. I've seen a lot of posts here suggesting that several members offer customised gas strut products. If you're one of those people, give me a shout! Cheers

    Z tyre widths

Zs ought to have wider tyres on the rear than on the front, right? I suspect the previous incumbent of my car has swapped tyres around and I've ended up with front widths all round. The book is no use since the car is an import so it's all in Japanese. Can anyone tell me the wheel/tyre sizes for standard/unmodded Zs? Thanks!
  20. Could always use in App mode and install an Internet radio app like http://www.livioradi...neer-appradioâ„¢/ Have you used internet radio in a car? I can't imagine I'd get any signal for it where I live. 3G is rare on the move and even regular phone signal has its blackspots!
  21. Cheers for the advice, I'll keep that in mind. Do you have any sat nav set-up with it? I've seen some advertised as 'sat nav ready' whatever that is. But presume you need to set up an add on?
  22. Cheers. Oh yeah I'd definitely get someone else to install it. That's been out of my depth since my 1986 Fiesta!
