  1. The compression rod is also known as the bannana arm, as it is in a banana shape.
  2. If you was a little more local I could lend you a hand in doing the conversion. Edit: I don't think that it is as straight forward as ordering from the states, as I believe that they are calibrated differently i.e. speedo 160 mph US and 180 mph UK. This could cause you a little problem, you'd have to have it recalibrated. Either go with ordering a replacement and having this done, or try tackling yourself. I have a guide available if you PM me your email (the guide is from a guy in the US, Eric). You will need to order a new set of gauge faces from Black Cat Customs, they have UK spec available. You will also need a number of LEDs which are mentioned in the guide.
  3. If your anything like me you could spend a whole day cleaning. Nice and clean though matey . Enjoy
  4. I am currently in the process of doing this with my zed, I am just waiting to receive a set of new gauges from Black Cat Customs in the states. If you check out my build thread you should see some parts on their. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/86080-350z-roadster-sc-build/#entry1289995 If you need any advice I will be more than happy to help. Where are you based? (London)
  5. I've order one of these OCCs. I will provide some updates once it arrives
  6. Welcome along . You will love it, until you wave and/or flash at a fellow zed and they do not respond in the same way . Looking forward to seeing your mods.
  7. Has anybody had any experience with this OCC. I came across this when I was browsing the my350Z US-forum. http://www.saikoumichi.com/S1_350Z_OCC.html It seems to provide the needed functionality of an OCC, also the bracket fits to the PS reservoir mounting point.
  8. Welcome along and congrats on the purchase. Lovely looking zed
  9. Don't you mean herpes? Terrible service. Haha. I have used them only a couple of times, they seemed to be ok.
  10. Unscrew the panel. There is a screw in the handle. Once you have this out give the panel a gentle pull upwards and it should come out. Sorry I have just digested your post. It sounds that you have already got that far. If you use a thin flat-blade screwdriver on the clips around the switch units, it should come free nicely. On the plug connector there is a press point, if you press this in and pull the plug, it should come free.
  11. Cheers bud.... It isn't too difficult if your handy with a soldering iron. I found the fiddly bit to be the switches, as it has a tiny LED Separated Switch Unit with OEM LED with No LED
  12. I thought I would provide a little update to things. I was a little bored this weekend, so I thought I would start to update the interior of the zed.I decide to tackle the lighting . So I began with the driver and passenger controls. The lighting for the door mirrors is annoying me now. I thought it was an LED type, so I need to source a replacement in Blue..... I then decided I would do the AC Controls, although I complete the main lighting and didn't do the pointers as I thought it would be too much all in blue, so just waiting for some red LEDs then I will update. I thought I would stop there for the weekend and wait for the new LEDs to arrive, but I left it nearly 3hrs and decided I would do a little more. The next step to take was to update all the switches, this was a pain in the **se. The LEDs in these are so so small it took me ages. I firstly tackled the switches with roof open/close; ESP; and headlight washers. I then tackled the heated seat switches on the centre console. This was a pain also. I thought I may be able to get at these pretty easily, but end up with the whole dashboard out (this was the first time, it wasn't so bad). While I was in there I changed the position of the drivers side, as this has been doing my OCD in . I understand this isn't an update to my Supercharging venture, but it is all work in progress . I am also waiting for a set of new gauges from the states to finish the gauge conversion.
  13. Love IT!!! Looking forward to seeing this progress.
  14. Drinking your zed round a roundabout??? Use photobucket and just copy the URL.
  15. They are a different type of fun. We still own a Clio RS and I can say I do enjoy driving it, but can't say I often have a difficult decision to make to see which car I would rather drive (the zed).
  16. Literally two posts before yours you have someone talking about preconceptions and how wrong they can be. Drive a sorted Clio 182 Cup, a Megane RS and a GTI-6 and come back and tell me that. The fact you can buy two of those cars for the price of a decent set of tyres for the Zed also says something I have driven a GTI-6, Clio 172, 182 and 197 and all cracking cars, but I much prefer RWD cars. Personal preference.
  17. You can't get this much fun out of a FWD hot-hatch.
  18. I like all stupid cars (stupid as in not following the boring brigade). Something that can make you smile if you press down the right pedal
  19. That's interesting. I wonder if you can just purchase new shrouds.
  20. I thought the main issue with "French" cars was the electrical systems?
