I have posted about this before, but I did buy my car from the Peterborough branch and I can understand all of the above. However, I wasnt ( or didn't feel ) pressured into a sale. I saw the car on auto trader and with 6 months membership on here under my belt, I went over there with my eyes wide open. The salesman was busy with another customer when I got there, so he gave me the keys and said go and have a look at it. I went outside to the car and closely looked at all the exterior. I then jumped in and checked the interior for wear and tear. I then started the engine, popped the bonnet and listened carefully for any abnormalities. It had the usual click from the axles when changing directions. Both fans ran fine. Oil and coolant were fine. The salesman then joined me some 20 minutes later, and said go for a drive. I drove out the village and onto the A1 where I could open her up. Drove fine. No knocks or bangs etc. I returned to the showroom and tried haggling the price. It was up for £11k 2007 model with 68k on clock. I told them I'll pay maximum £10k. They said No. I said I'll carry on looking. About 3 days later the female boss rang me to say ok, they'll accept £10k if I would buy before the end of the month. I agreed and went to buy the car a week later. Once over there, I had a quick look over the car again. It hadn't been cleaned. It had been sat outside in the rain all week. I told them to get it cleaned while we filled out all the necessary paperwork. Next, the salesman started his warranty selling pitch. £400 for 15 months cover. I succumbed to this but not before knocking a further £100 off that. Now, you say the warranties are worthless, but I have some positive news about that. A few months ago there was a thread started on here regarding low oil pressure on an HR engine. Ross eventually took his car to Kaiser motors and the engine was stripped down to find the oil gallery gaskets leaking by, and Nissan now do an updated gasket for this. I noticed that my oil pressures were a little lower than expected. Nothing dangerously low, but I wondered if it could be the same thing. I also thought I would try getting this work done under the warranty I had paid for, as its a 9 hour strip down job. Well, good news. The warranty company have covered the cost of this. So, to wrap up, my advice would be that if they have got the car that you want, then as long as you walk in with your eyes open, and don't fall for any nonsense from them, then proceed with caution. I have owned my Zed for 6 months now and still loving it Btw, this isn't me sticking up for them at all, as I agree with everything said above. I wouldn't own such a lovely car if it hadn't been for the advice from you guys on here

Well finally we have exchanged contracts with a move date of 15th April Seemed to take for ages but it's actually only been 6 weeks. Our original buyer pulled out 2 weeks into it so had to sell again. Can't wait now.

Enjoy the drifting mate. My missus got me drifting lessons at Rockingham for Christmas. I'll be booking it in soon, as we're moving just down the road from there in a couple of weeks

Welcome Is that the newest 350 on here?

Can't you lift the internals of the 350 key and fit into the 370 key case?

Have a great day

What year is your car, as there's an HR low mile engine for sale in the for sale section. I would get it properly diagnosed first though, before splashing out.

Nice! Stir fried reflectors for tea.
-
Yep, all component arrived. Just need to split the reflector and back casing. I'm soaking them in hot soapy water now, tomorrow will put them in the freezer. Then I'm going to buy a set of hobby knife hopefully it will split easily without damaging anything. Once everything is done, I'll then have to pick a good weekend (no rain) to disassemble my front bumper and lights. I live in an apartment hence all this has to happen on the visitor's car park. At the moment all my work takes place in a parking area too. Luckily it was quite empty today
-
All sorted then. Just plug them in and away you go The hard part I know will be mounting them in the reflectors. Looking forward to seeing the end result

Hi Veegee. Just re-read your earlier post regarding your initial test of the led's. If you look at most modern cars on the road today, you'll see that when they indicate, the White led's switch off to allow the Orange led's to be visible. On my previous car I fitted some permanent white led's, but wired them through a DRLR2 relay from eBay, which dims the led's to half brightness once the headlights are switched on, to comply with the law.

Long ramble, but can you Z and then come back?

That's a revup model isn't it. Known to use a bit of extra oil. It looks in good condition though and has a full service history. -
Dont worry it'll be a mobility scooter soon He'll be after you now for that comment

I will never take my zed to one of those hand car wash places. I take great pride in cleaning it myself. When the summer eventually gets here I'll be doing a 6 hour cleaning and machine polishing session. With the crap weather through the winter, I'll drive to the nearest garage to use their pressure washer to rinse off all the salt etc. I took our S-Max to a hand wash place once, and tbh I was really impressed with the overall condition when I picked it up. Looked brand new again. Some weeks later, I noticed that the wheel centres were starting to corrode, and then some parts of the alloys were being eaten away. All this caused by the acid in the cleaner that these guys had used. Never again!
