Ooooo errr. ..gotta love that Kris The XKR actually has no real worries other than an A/C issue. Me thinks I shall be dropping some hints to the boss!

2" is about 10 cm right?

Seen this beast, I know it is pretty long but being an auto she can focus on not bumping those wheels!!! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201604092795988?search-target=usedcars&make=jaguar&price-from=10000&price-to=19000&year-from=2008&fuel-type=petrol&zero-to-60=fast&page=1&searchcontext=default&sort=default&postcode=eh224nz&radius=1500&onesearchad=new%2Cnearlynew%2Cused&body-type=coupe&logcode=p&adPos=7 I can become spursmadhensh?

When did 4K become a tad!
-
Noted sir! I shall continue my searching!

The misses likes them so I think its defo worth a looking! my neighbour has what looks to be a C2 but I am not that good with 911s. His doesn't look to be the best, so would be good to pull it with a corker! Why did you suggest going for the 3.4 over the 3.6?
-
I looked into a few inspection services up this neck of the woods, they said they looked for the early signs of the major issues rms, ims and bore issues. They never said they would do the scan to actually look at the head to see if there is damage. I take it this inspection woudn't be of any use unless they do the scan?

Surely tryign to sell a porker with over 100K could be a challenge? Obviously you have applied tatical thinking on picking a car with that mileage but would it not scare most unassuming buyers off?

Just found this site http://www.autotorque.net/mitsubishi-evo-ayc-acd-pump-repair-specialists/ The last time I sh@t my pants from buying an Evo X and ended up with a A5 reek machine. The dreaded AYC pump that was a £2500 fix can be sorted for under 1K now! Still not amazing but after spending the morning reading about all the issues that could blow up the 996 engine and leave you in a pool of sweat and tears,, it's actually not that bad. It might be a bit longer but I wouldn't feel as bad putting the miles on that car. I like the SL500 but the performance is pretty pure considering the size of hte engine!

It is, that one is probably more for hope than anything Plus I would need to find one that isn't covered in wood/tweed and doesn't come with a monocle! TTRS is high on the list, I like the softtop, she doesn't. £18K is looking like a 59 plate with 70+miles. I am hopefully that come NOvemeber the prices might slump a little.

I remember looking at this when you had bought it but I couldn't remember who is was that had it! Yes the aero kit looks to be the one that I like, not as keen on the big flap coming up but thats just IMO. I would love the M6, and again remember Kyle taking the jump but I know for a fact the misses would refuse to drive it I showed her a few last night, I thought the Porsche would have got a bad reception but apparently not! I love the Massi's but they are again pretty big, the 3200 is quite small but its not as nice looking. I think the list is currently looking like this: 911 TTRS Cayman(not sure because of the issues but I still love it) 370z(modified, will obviously need ot see whats out there come Nov) XKR I showed her a cracking SL55 but she absolutely hated it sadly!!

Dan, whats the script with spoilers on the 996? I really like them but no all of them have one. Was it an option or is it a particular model?
-
Fwd makes me sick mate Why dont you give me my car back and ill sink that budget dropping an LS into it ill loan you it back for the weekend!
-
I must admit i dodnt really look at 911s. My money seems to pull in around 2003 with decent mileage. I will have a gander I have always had a soft spot for supra's but the thought of the misses driving a mental powered rwd supra gives me the fear and also makes me laugh

Alot of car for the money! with an RS badge you can't imagine they will drop much lower.
-
Quite a few in and around 18K, 2009 with 70K miles on them!
-
Cheers Doc! The size aspect is more for parking as the misses is going to be parking it. So as long as its not shockingly big/wide then it should be ok. MPG isn't a massive sticking point, I am getting about 20mpg in the WRX, but I will be car swapping to the misses DS3 for work and she will take the other car to work which is only a few miles down the road. I can drop her off most days as well so it can stay on the drive some days. I do agree though that early teens becomes a bit boring after a bit The biggest aspect for me is going to be reliability which rules out the TVR straight away. I am not a fan of the Chimaera tbh, I love the Tuscan but the cheapest one is just under 18K and is a CAT C! I like the idea of the 135i but I just don't think they're as special looking, head turning would probably be a must.

Yes, I don't really fancy the 370 as I know I will get the modding bug again and blast far too much money into it!I would maybe consider one which has some decent mods already done so I am not completely ruling it out. I considered an Evo X before, but like the wrx I am in just now, the interior quality is just shocking. Plus the AYC pump scared me away the 1st time round. I also considered upgrading to the wrx sti 330s which on paper looks like a monster but again, the cabin is shocking. The de 350 was 10 x better which is saying something!

Hey guys, I am looking to part ways with my car this November for something a little more special before the eventuality of kids is upon me! This really will be my last “man math†car before I don’t have a choice but to be sensible. The specification is that my misses will be driving this through the week more than me as she does a lot less miles than me. So it can’t be ridiculously long or strenuous to drive. I don’t fancy anything too far north of 60k miles and probably not older than 05ish I have been reading some buyers guides on a few cars but everyone you read only puts you off the car!! I have initially played about with the idea of getting a 370z, but I would want the nismo which is still a good £6K more than I am willing to pay. Cars I have considered are: Z4M TTRS M3 M5(too big sadly) M6(possibly too big) ML63(too thirsty) RS4 They all seem to have their issues, I would like a porker but again, with some people on this forum having 1st hand experience of their issues puts me off. Ideas?

Just on the subject of torque steer, I drove my mates new st-3 in bone dry conditions, shocking torque steer. The car wants to fight you all the way until about 50mph... not enjoyable. The seats are probably one of nicest I have sat on tbh, really hug you however, if you were a little more beefy I don't actually know how you would get into them
-
My mate had one for a while but he got pi**ed off with the maintenance bills on his, his was stage 2 though. I think they are pretty bad for the turbo's going pop. I have the hatch impreza just now, for the money you're looking to spend you could probably get the wrx-s hatch with decent miles on the clock. 265bhp and around 5.5 to 60. Interior wise they're shocking, looks wise, it depends who you ask but they're fun and fast!
-
I went wafty after the 350 and got a 3.0tdi A5, tried getting a remap to make it fun... sold it 9 months after buying it. I like to go out and have fun in a car, if you're the same then avoid the wafty! If you actually care about going to fill the car up,, then go for the wafty
-
I think if you just switched Evans and Harris the show would instantly be 100 times better. The comparing of the 1st car and best car section is one of the worst things on telly.

Mortgage offer and changing job before completion - Advice please?
hensh65 replied to veeg33's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I had this exact same issue in January this year, move in date was March and I was going for the 2nd interview in Feb after already having everything in place. I said to the adviser at the time, she just said she didn't need to know as long as the new job isn't on less money or "self employed". That was bank of scotland(Lloyds).
