  1. Even I will say - it is worth it. Done it to several cars of mine now, inc the 350. I use the Halfords one which I think was an AutoGlym one.
  2. Annoyingly am busy next Sunday, so can't make this. Next time hopefully - have fun though
  3. Thank you. Now I feel terribly dimb !! I really should have known that !!! Embarrased !!
  4. Oh and - Major benefit of black rays - they do not show brake dust !!
  5. Interesting thread, been talking loosly of lightness in corners too today - but You lost me - what are TCS ?
  6. Nice to get out and meet some more folk today, a friendly crowd indeed. Such a shame I will only remember a few names !! Some good and interesting driving. Thanks Brillomaster for navigating that excellent cross country route back. Radio's for those of us that had them worked brilliantly in providing some good in car entertainment too Nice set of photo's of the day too. Thanks Ian for orgainising it - despite start times being half way through the night !!! Certainly appreciated the quiet roads though, although not the White van or Corsa overtaking me - the humilation or what !!!!
  7. There is nothing in it for a garage to do this. They are in business to make money and no two cars would be so alike there would not be a price difference. Stick with the Coupe, it's too hot for a Roadster now , unless you have a large hat and lots of sun lotion and without meaning to be negative - the weather won't last - sadly........
  8. That is brilliant. So you going to share with us - how or why you get it so cheap - Please !! :-)
  9. I am going - Friday and Saturday this year. Been loads of times previously, my fav all time show/event - first time for two days this year - so excited.............. Travelling down Thursday afternoon, Hotel near beach - might find time to build some sandcastles !!!
  10. Oh what a shame you did not get to use all your time in the Swift. But then I guess worse for the biker that died. I too hired a Swift for the Ring last year when I went and can also highly recommend this partially race prepared car for the Ring. I am thinking of going later in the year as the German friends I have are saying there is huge doubt amongst the locals the Ring will be open after this year. Will keep this in mind if i do go.
  11. Try this one - My mother is on her 4th Marriage. So strictly speaking that means I have numerous Aunts and Uncles. So presumably they are Step Aunts or Uncles, like I have Step Dad No 1, No 2 No 3 !!! :-) But what is one of the Aunts or Uncles then remarries - does that make them a Step. Step Aunt or Uncle ? (As it happens - I have a smaller family than most, as most the husbands an their families got lost on the way)
  12. Perhaps try writing a list of the things you like doing, people you like being with - then make plans to do them and see your friends. If your existing friends are reminders of things that have not been so great, try new ones. There is a great group called Spice open for all to join for a minimal monthly fee. They are all over the country and offer numerous get togethers and activities. Of course you are not going to make friends instantly. But it can be someone else arranging things and mixing with others who don't know your situation can often really help as yu have to put on a brave face and get on with it, eventually you will naturally feel better. Its really all about making yourself feel better. Cook yourself a nice meal, no matter how hard it is to get it together to do so, you will be impressed with the results and have fab food too. Already mentioned - Volunteering for those worse off than you, or those who really need your help - puts life very much into perspective. There are masses of groups from childrens, Scouts, Air Force, Sea Cadets, through the whole Disability area of carers and beyond - all found on the Internet. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with having a Sick Day - when you are feeling really glum, totally fed up etc, just make sure it is just one. Remember your Doctor too - mine has been brilliant over some very difficult times. Sounds to me - by coming on here and asking for guidance - you are ready to move forward so hopefully between all the suggestions - some are right for you. Good Luck
  13. To top that - it rained hard all throught the final BTCC Race, the walk back to the car, the 30 minutes wait getting out of the car park. It actually got heavier and by the time I joined the A1, torrential - Just Superb !!! So much for my thinking rather than doing.............. I had been meaning to ask - What are the general views of driving in the wet ? I have been half thinking of doing a Skid Pan Day............. Coming from years of front wheel drive ownership, in half decent speed and performance vehicles. I think it may be the faster more assuring way of learning the differences of drive and reaction in a rear wheel drive car. And, its bugging me, I know of 7 weeks ownership and 1200 miles (too many motorway!) that I can drive the Corrado quite abit faster. Guess impatience plays a part !!! But still........... Any tips, points to observe ? Also the clutch catch/grip/bite is quite high ? Is that normal ?? Suddenly masses of questions and - 'All because the lady didn't see another Z '
  14. Well there is that - yes, and I actually like owning cars that are not quite the norm or so popular, but it is also nice to see others - just occassionaly. Best is - my other car is a VW Corrado VR6 - didn't see one of those either !!!
  15. So Friday I went from Banbury to Thirsk. Saturday Thirsk to Hunwick Sunday Hunwick to Croft (BTCC), then Croft To Banbury. Not a Single Z !!! Most dissapointed !!
  16. Japfest is Sept 29th - Sunday !!! Sorry to be picky !!!
  17. I think we are all paying approx an extra 20% on our Insurance premiums to cover uninsured drivers, so recent reports suggested.
  18. Can't even start to imagine how you are feeling, know I would be pretty unbearable and Inconsolable. Hopefully you are at least feeling the love and support of everyone on here. I think a few beers may be needed ! And.... hoping it won't take too long to get fixed and back on the road.
  19. That I would really love to drive. Preferably without traffic, so could have some real fun !!!! I am always interested in Road Trips of up to a week and not too expensive. Personally on these types of trips, I have found about 4 hours a day to be about right for driving time, so can still see sights and enjoy where you have driven to and are not just knackered.
  20. I have been ultra careful in the wet and damp conditions - Surely that is enough !!!!
  21. Just a sad petrolhead head - nothing wrong with that. :-) I have already clay barred my car and only owned it 4 weeks !!!!
  22. I have a set - Binatone 550 Twin. Done various European roads trips with others - all purchasing the same 2 way radio's and no problems. Range is not brilliant, but still 2 miles or so. Probably an old model now though.
  23. Me please, could you bring it along on Saturday ?
  24. Thanks for the welcome guys and pointers too. Will hopefully get along to some of the meets and catch up with some of you. That's twice already Horsham Developments have been recommended - which is good news.
