-

-
Yeah sounds like a plan mate - It'll have to be after the New Year for me and my lot, when the weather will be good enough for it to be worth going on a hoon
-
Glad to see there's more guys from around our parts I've never been to a meet before so I'd be up for it for sure - not heard of these North East Creations folk either, but I have quite a few petrol head mates who would be up for a meet of all car types (they got e36 M3, Civic Type R etc etc)... we often go for a hoon over the Hartside pass so maybe we could make that even bigger with more of you guys - plus we're all nearing the wrong side of 30 so we can roll up as the 'old people' lol I'm working up til the 24th () so probably early new year would be better for me, but I'm definitely up it.

For the Paul Walker memorial, yeah thinking about it - gotta see if I can make it with work and try to get my mates to go to - are there any meets around these parts?
-
Is that in Newcastle?

Haha, nice to (kinda) meet you mate. I'm from Penshaw, right next to Herrington Park - you? Sorry to hear about the battle damage! I think I might have seen you parked in liberty Brown's car park once too lol
-
Anyone know this guy or if he's on here? Seen him around a few times, the car looks really nice with the nismo kit - never been close enough to wave lol. I'm in a red 350z gt if you see me around

Long shot - Plastidip Copper Metalizer aerosol can
Neoncypher replied to Neoncypher's topic in Wanted
I didn't even know they did a vintage gold ....If anyone is interested, I've just heard back from the plastidip uk sales people, who say that they should be expecting the copper metalizer in a few weeks. I had a similar email several months ago though, so I'm skeptical. -

Yeah, as jumping350 says, so long as you have built up a nice thick coat underneath, then the enhancers are just sitting on top of that. Well, they would be, if I could bloody get some! -

Hi, yeah I emailed those guys earlier, he has everything but the copper.. It's annoying because it's available in the USA but not here... -
Hi guys, Like I say this might be a long shot but....I don't suppose anyone has a can of plastidip copper metalizer they want rid of? Having a nightmare trying to get any, been waiting for stock from plastidip uk for literally months... I'm going to plastidip my wheels a subtle bronze, I already have the black main/under coat, I just need the copper for the effect... Cheers, Adam

DS2500 pads/MTEC discs bedding in advice required
Neoncypher replied to Neoncypher's topic in Brakes
So I started bedding in my new discs and pads yesterday. To start, I drove around 20-30 miles of very light braking to wear the black coating off the discs ( I went for the Black edition MTEC discs). Once the coating was off, I drove a further 20-30 ish miles of slightly harder braking to gradually increase the temperature of the brakes and avoid any kind of thermal shock. At that point I found a very long and quiet road on an industrial estate and did 8 hard stops from 60 to 10, which kicked up some smoke and that nice brake smell - I then drove around for 10 mins to let them cool down, and repeated the hard braking, repeated the cooling drive, and went home with a very nauseous wife in the passenger seat haha... So, would you guys recommend any further series of hard stops etc or would you say just normal use from now on? Cheers, Adam -
DS2500 pads/MTEC discs bedding in advice required
Neoncypher replied to Neoncypher's topic in Brakes
Thanks for the replies guys! I just fitted everything today so I'll start to bed them in tomorrow... Quick question though.. The MTEC Brakes came with a leaflet saying no hard braking in the first 200 miles, whereas I know that the ds2500s require a hard bedding in procedure.. So what is the best thing to do in this particular situation? Thanks! -
Hi all, I have just bought a set of MTEC dimpled and groove discs and a set of ferodo ds2500 pads for the front of my Z, and I was hoping to get some advice on bedding them in. I've never done this before, and I have trawled the interwebs and found many suggested methods for bedding in pads/discs, but a lot of the information is contradictory, or is specific to only bedding in new pads with existing discs and vice versa. So, what's the best approach with both new discs and pads? I've read that the ds2500s require a hard run in, but I'm worried what that would do to a brand new disc, and I'd rather not shaft either of them! Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers, Adam

Cheers guys, I've managed to find some brushes just in case a full clean of the motor doesn't cut it
-
Hi all, My Z's passenger window motor is on the fritz, and rather than fork out the ridiculous price for a replacement motor, I was gonna have a crack at repairing/rebuilding mine. The only issue is that I'm struggling to find replacement brushes here in the UK. I need upright/stand up, uncut brushes for a 540 motor - has anybody here tried this before and knows where to get these, or have any spare/for sale? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Cheers, Adam

If the sale falls through I'll take it

Dealership Praises and Woes NOW inc Independants
Neoncypher replied to MITZ@CougarStore's topic in Servicing
Just had a p3 service carried out at Atkin Motor Engineers in Malton, North Yorkshire - I'd highly recommend these guys to anyone! I drove down from Newcastle after reading a few recommendations on here, and I'm very glad I did - all in £212, can't go wrong with that! The gent I spoke to was very helpful in explaining a few bits and bobs I needed doing, and they even cleaned my wheels properly when they had them off. They also provided a complimentary courtesy car so my wife and I could go into York for the day whilst they had the car. Overall, great service, nice, friendly and helpful people, and very competitively priced, highly recommended. Adam -
Hi all, I'm after a full set of Eibach spacers, 20mm front 25mm rear - I seem to keep missing them on the for sale section as they sell so damn fast! Thanks! Adam

Hi everyone, I'm a new owner of an '03 GT 350z with 76k on the clock, and I'm due a P3 service. I have an idea of what the price will be, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend any reputable performance specialists in the North East/ Newcastle area? I don't really want to take it to a dealer, and I don't mind travelling a bit to take her somewhere that will treat her right Thanks in advance, Adam

Thanks guys! @ Humpy - Mods wise I'm going to keep it stock for the time being whilst I recover from the purchase haha... But first job will be Powergrid endlinks as I have the infamous creaking rear end - I figure I'll get these as I'm planning to eventually switch to coilovers. I'm also due a service soon - can anyone recommend any Z specialists/ reputable garage in the Newcastle area please? Cheers all
