Hi all, This morning I had a very strange and dangerous situation with my Z. I was driving to work - I took a right hand bend (I'd say maybe 2 o'clock angle) at around 50-60mph, slight downward angle, and I wasn't braking, but I felt either my front or rear right wheel locking up (I think it was the rear but I was too bust concentrating on not dying to be sure). It did this three times on that bend, over the course of around 10 seconds - so it locked for a second or two, then freed, locked then freed and once more and then it was fine, as the bend straightened up and I'd obviously slowed down. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? I had two new tyres on the rear just last week (Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 3), and it's felt a little unsettled since then. Any help would be great, Cheers Adam

reduced sound out put after replacing o/e bose ?
Neoncypher replied to buster's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
Just come across this thread after fitting a Kenwood double DIN this weekend - definitely going to do this mod so thanks to Buster and cs2000 for the in depth write up. I have a few related questions: 1) Since installing the new Kenwood HU, my rear speakers are no longer on. Any one else experience this? Any solutions? 2) Not only is the sound quieter (which the mod will hopefully rectify) but the sound quality seems poorer - Seems more tinny and not as rich. I don't know if this is related to not having the rear speakers on or not? Can anyone who has done this mod comment on whether it improved sound quality as well as volume? (I'm thinking maybe the reduced output means i'm not hearing the full range hence it being less rich??) 3) With the new head unit I'm having to crank the subwoofer up to 10 in the audio settings to get anything even close to before - again is this related to the low output issue and will this mod fix that? Apologies for all the questions, just hoping some of you guys might have had similar issues that you've fixed, before I go slicing up the harness -
£20 is more than fair especially for charity, I'm cool with that

You never really know what you're gonna get on eBay, I was hoping one of our fine club members might have some knocking around.

Hi all, Got some rust bubbling up on both front wings and it's annoying me every time I look at my car. Anyone got any good condition ones for sale? Preferably Chili Red but no big deal if not, condition is most important. Cheers Adam

Hi all, I'm in need of front discs, brembo fitment, as my current mtec grooved and dimpled disks have given up the ghost. I was considering getting another set, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any sets for sale - preferably grooved at least, but not drilled though. Cheers Adam

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess the thing with welding in a new section is that the water could very easily be elsewhere between the double skin of the panel, and maybe has not caused rust yet - until a few months down the line when it manifests. That's why I was leaning more towards going down the route of two new rear quarter panels rather than having the smaller sections cut out and welded, just to be as sure as I can that it won't come back anytime soon. But yeah, big £££ The fronts I'm still thinking about FRP over the standard metal just, again, I don't have to worry about it coming back in the future. Can anyone recommend any decent FRP front wings? On top of all of this I'm thinking about the cost and whether it's financially viable compared to what the car is worth and its age/mileage etc. It's an 03 with a little over 100k on it - A part of me thinks why not just sell it, get another Z lower mileage and younger without any of these problems and just mod it back up to the level it is now. But then i'm torn because I've put a lot of time and money into this one... Cars man, what a stress on.

Hi all, I had some rust bubbles on 3 arches last year so I took it to a local bodyshop who did what he could, warning that it'd more than likely come back - which it has, on all four arches this time I spent a fair bit for what was essentially an 8 month fix, so I'm planning on a longer term solution. For the front, I'm thinking of going for FRP front wings so I don't ever have to worry about rust there again. ( I did consider CF but I have the rear arches to fix too = £££), so if anyone has any suggestions for FRP front wing choices or where would be best to acquire them I would be very grateful. The rear arches are more of a pain as I'm sure most folk here know - As far as I'm aware, I would need to have the offending areas cut out and replaced (potentially problematic as one of the rust bubbles is just under the fuel cap area where it meets the rear bumper - also having read some stories on here, I know that can also be a non-permanent fix as the rust usually comes back due to the double skin and water sneaking around in there) OR, have the whole rear quarter panels cut out and new ones welding back in = £££. Has anyone here had this done who could comment on how much it cost them? I really don't want to lose her to the rot :'( Finally - any suggestions for a reputable body shop in the North East or North who could do this kind of work and not mess it up? Thanks in advance, Adam

Hi all, I'm after a pair of rear tyres, 245/45 R18 please. I have Falkens on atm but wasn't overly impressed, so looking for something better - ideally MPSS. New or part worn providing there's plenty of tread left. Let me know what you got, Cheers Adam

I used this guide when I did mine: http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/361241-how-to-repair-stuck-broken-window-motor.html Tried cleaning them first (taking motor apart and spraying liberally with electrical contact cleaner) - that worked for about 2 weeks then it died again. I bought a used replacement motor on here and that lasted a month or two, then that went. Ended up having to rebuild the motor with new motor brushes. It wasn't the quickest or easiest job, and I'd also never really done anything like it before. Took a few tries to get the thing working, but eventually got it sorted and it works fine 6 months on. Saved a fair bit of coin given that the cheapest reconditioned window motor I could find on here was around £120 - and official new nissan ones are approximately £3 million (ok, maybe more like £300+, but still). Ended up costing me £10 for about 20 motor brushes (you only need two but I bought more just incase), £5 for a cheap soldering iron, and some of my time. Hope this helps mate

Yeah cheers mate, had a look on eBay and found some decent deals, although I'd rather give the money to someone on here, maybe a kind trader who can do me a deal..
