  1. Ahh that makes things a little easier. Thanks, I'll have a look into it
  2. Hello everyone! Just got a quick question - there's a number plate on auction on eBay at the moment, I've emailed the seller and he says the plate is currently registered on a car. He said it would be £80 to transfer this to my own vehicle. After looking on the DVLA website, it seems you have to fill out a form- one half filled out with the donor vehicle's details and current owner's signature, and then the other half filled out with my vehicle's details and my signature. Seems you also have to send off both registration certificates, MOT certificates etc. Is there a way of doing this with a random stranger who lives somewhere else in the country? Bit wary of posting documents around etc. etc! Made me wonder, perhaps the only way of doing it would be putting the plate onto retention (£100-ish) and then also paying the £80 transfer fee once certificate is received to put onto your own vehicle? Would be nice to transfer it directly and avoid the big retention fee. Makes the plate pretty unaffordable if thats not the case Cheers Louisa
  3. The Zed is provisionally sold as of last night, pending delivery to a lovely local chap called Dave, 3 miles away from me Shall give the forum a mention to him, you might see him popping up in the near future!
  4. Should just about do it matey Yeah looking at doing something similar as its 0% anyway. You'll be amazed how many cant these days! All my local shops say send it to Mojo for anything ubyk are going to have me a SB66c to test on Saturday assuming Amanda will let me go. She's given sign off for purchase woo! Apparently its one of the shop directors bikes so I better not break it I'm assuming its the law that any Yeti has to be the turquoise version? Yep! I really wanted the flourescent yellow SB66 but it didn't feel right
  5. I have a £200 direct debit for that bike (still..... until Feb...) and its a life ruiner
  6. Ha yeah, on more severe stuff I can see the Alpine coming into its own over the SB... took both out to Morzine with us this year, and the Alp definitely felt more planted where mine was scattering around over lose stuff. The Alp probably gives me more confidence I do admit. But then I wouldn't fancy lugging one of those around the Lakes either... but I don't have man strength legs! Apparently the new Alpine 160s feel a lot more similar to the Yeti. They've lost a lot of weight, but according to reviews I've read, they've lost some of the stability and planted feel along with it. Might be perfect now!
  7. Yeti! I have the ally SB66 and its great. Requires some fine tuning to get it dialled in right for you, but I love mine. The pace it picks up with is amazing, compared to my boyfriend's Alpine 160, it takes one pedal stroke to get you moving when the Alp would take 3. Great bike. Switch pivot has been fine so far. Had mine since September last year and bearings still feeling great
  8. Another point to mention, been looking through the service receipts, found an invoice amongst there for new exhaust muffler / rear silencer which was fitted at Nissan Evans Halshaw at 45000 miles, at a cost of £491.
  9. Thanks guys! I've included everything I can think of, no point in hiding stuff. Regarding the bolster, that was the plan - but I keep seeing vans I like, so could do with it going soon really. Dark nights are round the corner... Don't fancy spending weeks outside in the cold carpeting and fitting out a van conversion! I understand the seat might be a small put-off, so as I said.... I am open to offers still. Nothing ridiculously cheeky please, but could do with having the Zed gone this month. Thanks!
  10. * Quick update! * As promised... The Zed now has a brand shiny new alternator belt fitted. Thanks Louisa
  11. That would be the dream lifestyle! Maybe the day I no longer have mountain bike direct debit payments coming out of my ears I can go back to having a nice car as well as a van. (a Zed of course!) There is already a VW T5 in our little family, however I can't get insured on it because its listed on the other half's motor trade policy... and lets not go into how expensive it would cost to add my name onto that!
  12. I've used Snowcard for both Alps MTB holidays so far. A friend of a friend had a bill of 3800 quid land on their doorstep after needing an air lift for two broken wrists and thankfully she is covered with them!
  13. UPDATE: car now has 12 months of MOT courtesy of local garage this evening, which it passed with no advisories at all. Asked for a full check over, plugged into diagnostics machine where zero recorded faults were found. Mechanically all great with nothing to report other than a very slight cracking to the alternator belt, so I will be having it back into the garage monday to get a new one put on. Cheers Louisa
  14. Thanks Will! Makes you fall back in love with them all over again when you give them a good clean! But, needs must
