Good call on the Skylines in general gents. I kind of think with most of these inflated priced cars, is anyone actually buying them to drive them, i just cant believe anyone who has says £60k in their pocket to buy one car to drive and enjoy is going to buy a Nsx or R34, maybe they are, but i suspect its speculators putting them into collections. Although i did see a nice late Nsx the other day driven by an old boy, maybe he has had it since new.

Or the Eu stops being such a bunch of bell ends for balance!

Not sure i would pay too much focus where an MG is in the top ten

A little Sunday topic, i was just browsing around in prep of a new edition next year and thought, lets just check out what Nsx's are going for..... So in light of that and seeing as i thought, not a chance in hell i would pay £60k for a NSX, what do you guys think is way overpriced in the 2nd hand market, no right or wrongs, just what do you think

There has been vast public outcry at some recent plans for development in my area recently, 7 storey blocks of flats impacting on a lot of peoples outlook and with a very narrow access road, apparently the developer will widen the access road, how i am not sure seeing as there is pavement and then houses, planning passed., basically at the end they will say, sorry we cant widen the road, whats the fine, paid and done! Also currently demolish two landmark hotels with water frontage, one site allow for luxury apartments to be built and sold which will fund the build of the new hotel on the other site. Sad to say that for the council, its probably millions in CIL and then loads of flats with big council tax bills to add to the coffers, you can understand why they do it with all the cuts and government targets to meet, but some of it is just a disgrace and as with the op, no one is accountable or answerable to anyone, yet they are supposed to work for us!

I would personally do some research on approved planning apps in the road, its easy to view the plans online and sizes with you're local borough website, take some photos of those extensions and take it to appeal and present you're case citing they have allowed "x", i would also make particular ref to any new builds, size and appearance and how do they match the existing houses in the street (not that they will). However, it wont match existing, is the difficult one to argue, whether you are right or wrong as IF they dont think it does, its the complete get out clause. Another story, in my old house a developer put in plans for 9 flats next door to me, no other flats in the road. They were refused on, size of scheme etc and "introducing more traffic onto an already busy road", he reduced the size, but still kept the 9 flats and guess what, it passed without mention of the same amount of traffic that it was refused for initially. You got to love public servants

Mmmm, interesting, from some angles i think it looks awesome, others i am not so sure, so after completely changing my opinion on the Nsx once i had seen one in the flesh, so sitting on the fence here. Seeing as the R8 was raised i think its the most boring looking supercar on the market, so anything is better than that dull shapeless dross., even a 911 and every time i see one of them i slip into a mini coma

What age do you think you should be allowed to drive a 350z?
Jetpilot replied to Jake.Lowther's topic in 350Z General
In 2015 32% of all casualties were aged 17-24 and the casualty rate really hasnt altered drastically year on year but serious injury has, so not sure the bike limit has any bearing personally. -
I saw a great post on pistonheads, rare i know, but it goes something like: The showmans hand book: Hows the model 3 production issues Elon: Look a squirrel Look another squirrel with a santa costume Basically distract the audience from the real issues, if you cant see past the trick of the hand, there is no hope, but the model 3 will be the making or breaking of Tesla, not headline grabbing figures that do nothing else, you would think his bold claims of 1500 cars a month for the Model 3 which is more like 220 would be of much more of a concern to him and people ordering Teslas. smokes and mirrors. P.s An Ultima GTR 1020 is very very near the same figures, whats the big deal, but we know which way this thread will go, have fun

Jetpilot replied to Jake.Lowther's topic in 350Z General
The driving test teaches you nothing but to pass you're test, if you have the ability to repeat a task (three point turn etc) you will pass, nothing in it suggests you have the ability to control a car or be safe (on the most part), let alone there is nothing regarding driving at the national speed limit or on mways. When i did my bike license the instructor simply stood outside the test centre and instructed you to drive round the block and surprised you somewhere with an emergency stop, i kid you not. I was in the boat industry and there is absolutely nothing needed to drive any boat in this country, its recommended but nothing to stop you buying a 70mph + jet ski, speed boat or come to that a million pound superyacht, its utter madness and positively scary when you see some people at the helm. -

My nephew is 34 and i wouldnt trust him to sit the right way round on a toilet let alone drive my zed, could he handle the car, yes no problem, but do i trust the way he drives, no, i hope that makes sense. -
As Ekona says, i personally wouldnt bother unless you are suffering with high under bonnet temps, or running fi where its also a benefit to get exhaust gases out quickly by keeping them hotter in the pipework.

You are surprised people on a 350Z & 370Z OWNERS CLUB have similar view points, hardly groundbreaking or rocket science working that out, however we do debate, 10 pages on this thread, in fact some offerings are very valid, you just refuse to acknowledge any of them, so as you say above, little point debating and if you're sole purpose on this forum is to stave the boredom from the ev forums (and yes i can imagine they are as dull as f*ck) and youre only contribution is ev and renewable energy related (which it is) and to have a bit of banter, as i have said before, imho, you need to get out more and leave us good old dinosaurs to it, pop back in a few years as you say to tell us you told us so

So where are all these wind and solar farms going to go, which is a genuine question by the way and for reference just two miles down the road from me: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/sep/11/tories-reject-navitus-bay-offshore-windfarm and before you blame the government, check out the objections at planning application.
-
Surprising that if the planning officer effectively puts his name to it that its refused. If it goes to the committee they will do a site visit, so maybe once they actually view it, they will see more sense. Good luck, went through it myself about three years ago, refused the first time and submitted modified plans to address their original concerns and it was granted. I would check what Leon says, it might fall under permitted development. https://interactive.planningportal.co.uk/mini-guide/extensions-two-storey/1

If as you say the building to plot ratio will still be less than other houses and you can provide factual evidence of this, along with allowing 9 new builds and support from neighbours, i would stick to your guns, they would find it very difficult to refuse you as they have to remain objective. I have just had to deal with an environmental officer on a new build, completely painful and whilst planning officers may be complete jobsworths, they are at least objective i have found. Also very surprised that a simple extension has to go a planning committee, is that usual in youre borough?
-
I definitely think wind and solar has its place, however, i only ever see it being a boost, we are still going to need to burn fossil fuels (not supporting this by the way) until a proper viable alternative comes along and whilst battery storage maybe a good means of streamlining, if you are still raping the planet for their production, i dont see its any more green or sustainable than fossil fuels. if the below is how you want the planet to look, i would be staggered and make note of the ice vehicles in shot used to create it, sorry but if you cant see the bigger picture i am afraid you just dont want to!!!
-
Sounds like one of those reasons you just cant argue, a guy i know applied 7 times for an extension to his existing property and it got refused because it was "not in keeping with the street scene", yet immediately opposite they had allowed planning for 3 new square properties in a character street. Is it always the way with your council that its referred to the councillors rather than the planning officers making the decision? If you can provide evidence that house to plot ration will be less than or the same as other houses in the street you can always appeal the decision with this information. Did you have any objections from neighbours?

Lets face it, its all smokes and mirrors to further tax the motorist, i caught a repeat of TG Sunday and Chris Harris was driving the new 718 Cayman, bought about to meet emissions targets, however, to meet those targets he had to crawl along and whilst not factual, he mentioned driven normally it probably produces similar emissions to the model it replaced.

Batteries Feel this is worth a bump with all that battery talk

With good reason from our discussion before and not long after the recent attacks and perhaps justified as the government themselves are looking to further stopping these crimes with criminalising more actions http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40176990 If you still have a 9% failure rate, i dont see it as holding water to be fair.
