  1. They think they look good, no different to you and your body building, whilst its not trendy, its no different imho, its just because you and they want to look like that I am a fairly casual guy, but i do sometimes see a well suited and booted fella and think, that looks good, but i certainly dont think, ohhh that celeb is wearing x i must go out and get it, which is the same for the body building although i am sure someone must have inspired you to get into it?
  2. I never used them on track with the tcs on, so cant answer that. To be fair if you are doing that sort of mileage i would just get some mpss or goodyear f1 and wait for some decent wider track rims and shot them in sticky rubber, just dont get some heavy old rubbish as you will be better on rays with smaller width tyres.
  3. I hate to agree with Ekona, but absolutely agree, you may have done some design degree (cant remember) but you are so so wrong, the AMGT is a gorgeous thing, so subtle but striking and achingly good lines, i absolutely fell in love with one at my local dealership, the BMW is way too fussy, particularly the front bit like the CTR, but i agree the back end is nice but for me its just too long with too much going in the middle. I have to ask, have you actually seen any of these cars in the flesh, or just passing verdict from 2d images on a screen? Although i am obviously doing that myself with regards to the BMW.
  4. I was using 255 rears and 235 fronts on std rims, 265/275 rears on wider track wheels. The Nankang AR1 is a very very good tyre and available in, 225, 235, 245, 255, 265, profiles may not completely marry up to oem but presuming you run with tcs off on track there will be no issues with any interference. If you are planning on a few days, its worth the extra cost to get some track dedicated rims either std rays or something a little wider allowing 235, 265/275 imho
  5. I guess most circuits dont want to upset the apple cart if they operate ok, i suppose there would be nothing worse than some ridiculous draconian db limits and low number of days made legislation like Thruxton as example.
  6. Yes, nothing, its called marketing and pr
  7. I wonder how many complaints it takes for a council to get involved and if there is any type of legislation for what actually is considered a noise nuisance? I am in the building industry and there are council regs in place for working hours etc and the council have every right to stop you working outside of these hours, i really would have thought there should be something far more regulated in place, perhaps its about time the tracks and track day organisers seek to get some proper legislation in line with other industries that create noise, building as an example as if it carries on like this track days will be few and far between, Thruxton is a perfect example imho.
  8. They have done it in the states, you will need certain parts from Nissan, clutch and brake switches, steering wheel controls, nothing major, the problem is, you will need to have the function switched on via uprev (not cheap) from one of the tuners and they dont seem that up to speed on it. Do a search and you should find the info on parts.
  9. All good points and interestingly my mate who rallies was supposed to compete this weekend at Bovington Army Base, MOD land, for a rally event and even they have to adhere to noise tests, so i fully understand the need for "sensible" levels and there in lies the key word for me, sensible and i truly wish they would do something about it so we and all the tracks/residents have a "industry standard" in place that allows the days to continue and tracks stay open AND safeguards for residents. Imho it really is time for some common sense to be applied and properly structured otherwise i feel we are just fighting a loosing battle as its just getting worse if all thats needed is a few grumpy residents who get the odd waft of noise for 9 days a year, seems very one sided, when was the last time we heard a track was granted extra entitlement? Curious to know if they are restricted with regards to flying, amount of aircraft allowed to take off etc
  10. Whilst i agree, i completely disagree, an event shouldnt be shut down without any form of monitoring of noise levels etc, based purely on "some" complaints, a proper study should take place and restrictions put in, if required, 9 days a year is hardly many dude and whilst i agree there shouldnt be open piped cars charging round track days, there should be a far more structured and universal level for acceptable noise/days run and equally valid complaint at every track, if it carries on like this we literally wont have anywhere left. P.s i hope you are feeling brighter after recent events!
  11. From Motorsport events. Another one bites the dust: Copy and pasted from another foum. Lyneham Cancelled – Great Shock and Disappointment It is with huge sadness we have to report that for the foreseeable future events at MOD Lyneham have been cancelled. In brief we are hugely disappointed that the local MP James Gray became involved after complaints from a handful of vociferous locals and seems to have rail roaded the MOD into closing the venue and unbelievably his tone is one of celebration. Please see the points below: * We adhered to all the restrictions placed on us, as you know these events are for like minded motoring enthusiasts in road cars, we think some people's opinion is these are race days. * At no point are we aware of any noise monitoring in the local area to back up complaints. * We would be able to modify the events to reduce noise if given the opportunity. * We feel that James Gray the local MP has not considered the fact that many local people have welcomed the events, the income generation for the the site and local area and that we are a local business. * Each event at Lyneham we provide places and driver training for military personnel and already the closure is causing great disappointment amongst active military staff. * Please judge for yourself the tone of James Gray's press release http://www.jamesgray...ith-mod-lyneham * If we genuinely have a detrimental impact on residents lives by holding events we would be the first to act, however, we run for 5 hours and 45 minutes per track day and had permission for 9 of these at MOD Lyneham in 2018. Surely not the most huge of impacts with our road legal cars? * Please also note that karting is allowed to continue at the site, when our road legal and road silenced cars are not. We are keen to fight this as hard as possible and need your support, the Lyneham Commanding Officer has given us a ray of hope and we need to act fast. Please email James Gray directly jamesgraymp@parliament.uk and copy us in to voice your opinion. We have just launched an online petition and we would welcome as many signatures as possible to show support. You can sign it here <https://motorsport-e...d4&e=d292682273> , please pass it far and wide.

    MOT History

The MOT wouldnt have road checked the car, so how would they know, so long as the brakes (disc and pads) were above the wear limits and braking force was fine, yes it will pass.
  15. I bought an item with tracking, the couriers (scum bast%rd Yodel c***) said they had delivered the item, they hadnt, i couldnt get a refund as officially it was delivered and signed for, by who i have no idea, well i do, the thief from Yodel.

    MOT History

Not defending mot stations as some are just so pedantic but if any were being spot checked by vosa and your car was pulled as you left, they "could" loose their licence and livelihood, so for them, its just not worth it sorry to say. If you had ever been through the old sva check, mot's seem positively relaxed.
  18. Insurance surrounding imports is a myth, so long as you contact the relevant insurers as mentioned, there is no reason why it should be more expensive. The only option you will struggle to find on imports is leather, its not as popular over there, however i preferred the cloth seats in my import, you sit lower so therefore more comfortable i found. Imports also have the square rear number plate which looks much better, again imho. As said above though, find the best example you can and if you are not worried about colour, i find it hard to believe you cant find the "right" zed as thats pretty much the only choice you have barring leather or cloth seats if buying uk, barring wheels which 2nd hand Rays are easily found. I personally cant see a dealer wanting to get involved in what is respectfully an old car that might cause them no end of trouble as they will have to warranty it etc etc

    GTR raffle

Well he isnt really, no one is likely to bat an eyelid or even know a license is required, he may even have said license but not made it public knowledge. In reality the only chance of a prosecution will be if it all goes t*ts up and someone does a runner with the cash. I am sure i have read you can have a raffle but the money needs to be taken on the day of the draw, ive been at loads of raffles at events, i would bet not one has a license.
  20. It was the rev up (some of) that had an oil issue, not the hr.

  24. The differences have had to pointed out to some its that minor, tbh they look so similar i am indifferent about it, the changes to the interior though are far more noticeable and more effective visually. The HR is the better looking car due to the bonnet.
