  1. With nearly 5 million viewers i would disagree, i am neither a sun reader or ukip voter, i just enjoy tg, its entertaining, has some awesome cars to view and some of their road trips or challenges are great fun to watch, I am not watching it for car road tests, if i wanted that i would have my socks bored off by 5th gear, except maybe when they are testing round the track. Just like people discuss clarksons opinion, i have no interest in those 2 dullards opinion (not tiff/plato/henderson), who even are they????? I wish people could move away from tg being a car test bed, its not and hasnt been for such a long time and if anyone buys a car because any presenter, tg or 5th gear says, they need sanctioning.
  2. I kind of agree, obviously there is an oil cooler to the left hand side, but do feel cooling could have been aided as Neilp points out a lot more sympathetically and in an aesthetically pleasing way than attacking with a hole saw. Awesome spec though and the holes wouldnt put me off as it is easily changed, the hard work has been done
  3. Jdms can have brembos, which do you have?

    Coilovers

The question is more so what would be the differences between the two and why Nissan went with seperate , not availability. Sorry if that wasnt clear.

    Coilovers

A curious question please guys. I am looking for some coilovers and reading some results from peoples findings as to particular brands one aspect really stands out. The 350z was designed on the rear with separate shock and spring arrangement (not sure if there is a technical term), which does seem quite common. I am guessing Nissan know there stuff and there was a reason for this? However, some aftermarket coilover manufacturers offer a combined spring and shock as per front, so looking for some insight as to why nissan choose their set up and some manufacturers choose not to follow?? I am not condemning any coilovers here by the way, just want to understand before i commit to making a purchase.

    Awesome

Too much choice Love Bazreias but dont think they would suit a Zed so just a set of Meisters or Professors for me
  7. Maximum discount is given at 5 years NCB (barring the very odd exception). Anything over that is basically ignored by insurance companies. Aware of that and realise there has to be a cut off point, however, regardless of ncb %, the fact you have been driving for x amounts of years without claim or conviction should indicate you are a pretty safe bet, but it seems to make sweet fa difference.

    Awesome

I know its in the states but some seriously nice wheels for sale here: http://wheelflip.com/browse/
  9. I personally think insurance is a bit of a farce, my insurance has been around £400 a year for the last 8 years or more, regardless of the car or its performance or value, it seems to make no difference that each an every year i have had another year of claim free driving and no motoring offences. Example, my daily last year, a Mitsubishi RVR (evo engined mpv thing) worth £2500, £400 give or take, my Rx7, 501hp, worth £7k, £400 give or take (with 5 track days), my 350z (nismo kit, wheels, exhaust etc)worth £6k, yep you guessed it £400 ish. I once told an insurance company for a quote that car "x" had no alarm/immobiliser and wasnt garaged over night and had modifications (wheels, body kit), a week later told them, i had had a cat 1 alarm fitted, mods removed and was garaged over night and guess what, exactly the same price!!
  10. Jealous much ........ were you able to see how sideways Marquez was? Hes a machine. He's got nothing on Casey Stoner For pure sideways nothing touches Anthony Gobert IMO Absolutely loved watching the Go Show, shame he feel into the drug/drink scene Gary McCoy was also pretty good at getting it sliding
  11. Marquez, Pedrosa & Lorenzo have all had one dnf so you are very far from the truth. Lorenzo and Marquez have both had 4 & 5 wins respectively this year and perhaps one thing that gets forgotten is its his rookie year, anything else you want to add?? And before you raise the fastest bike thing, he is still ahead of Pedrosa who has never been off a Honda and ridden it for years!!
  12. Jealous much ........ were you able to see how sideways Marquez was? Hes a machine. He's got nothing on Casey Stoner Big Stoner fan and now a big Marquez fan, i think Stoner is the fastest rider on a given day, but i dont think he has the out and out consistency of Marquez week in, week out. You never know though, we may see, he is testing for Honda at the moment Tbh that was Jorge's trump card, not always the fastest, but pretty much always on the podium, i think thats the problem now, he just cant match Marquez's outright pace and consistency. I thought his face was a picture when he was resented with the laptop and saw marquez had beaten his qualifying time, it was just like, i just cant ride any faster!!!!!
  13. If you think the Zed is a pain to drive and has its faults go try a Rx7. After having 5 in varying states of tune, from std to 501hp i can tell you the Rx7 is a far far from the easy drive of the Zed. I did a 250 mile round trip in my Zed yesterday, from m roads, to a and b roads, a combo of slow moving traffic and nothing ahead of you and was utterly impressed with how competent the Zed was over all of it, try that in a Rx7 and you would have beads of sweat rolling from your forehead, especially if you saw queues And that Fortune thing needs burning, there is nothing left of a beautiful Rx7. P.s, no more of a gamble buying a 7 than a Zed, you are just perpetuating the rumours you have read on the web. In all of my 5 i only had one self destruct, buy with your head and not your heart and you will have a car that will/can last years!
  14. Wow, i know it came down to those last few laps but how hard were they all riding and Marquez dislocating his shoulder in practice, you just got to laugh, well down George, pushed hard to get that win
  15. Wow, thanks, you may have saved me a big mistake
  16. I would doubt there is universal love of any car, the world would be a very boring place if we all liked the same things. If i liked a car i couldnt care who didnt, even Clarkson who i like, he hates Porsches so i am with him on that

    Spacer weights

Any idea what an individual 20mm spacer and associated nuts weighs guys?
  18. They do say money cant buy taste and this is a perfect example. Years ago when i was into bikes there were a group of americans called the star boys, they covered their fireblades, r1's etc in animal print fur, i think the irony was they were just absolutely mental riders, so they kind of pulled it off.......
  19. Thread gone a little quiet which is a shame seeing as we are watching history being made, Marquez breaking all the records and riding it like he stole it, the boy wants to win and not just settle for championship points....... 20.5 years old........ Stunning and what MotoGp needed particularly when Stoner went
  20. You can buy a special paint stripper for fiberglass, so being carbon is the same construction, gel coat, you could use that. There is no reason you could not sand it off however if you were very careful with some very fine wet and dry.
  21. I like a 0-60 time but pretty irrelevant on the road and track, how often do you get to go from a complete standstill to 60? 30 - 50 or 50 - 70 would be a more relevant time to know compared to other cars.
  22. What about that poorboys wheel sealant stuff? Awesome stuff!!!! About the only thing i have found that can keep my polished wheel lips looking shiny
