  1. I keep seeing peoples post with regard to import insurance and that it is more expensive. Someone even suggesting in another post it could be double I wonder how many people have actually tried to insure an import or just perpetuating an internet myth, imho, which actually seems quite common on here. So i thought i would do a check using my buddies uk registration to get a quote. Like for like cars years, annual mileage. The UK car came in £80 cheaper @ £331, however, that did not include the modifications mine has on its current policy (nismo kit, 19" alloys, exhaust, brakes) and insurance for 5 track days!! Even if you said those mods wouldnt increase the poilcy, £80 for 5 trackdays seems a bargain doesnt it??
  2. Isnt that the truth, i wonder how many people who jump on the insurance bandwagon comments have actually tried to insure an import, rather than just read it
  3. Both bikes would have been set up almost exactly the same i am guessing and a wheel change would take a considerable amount of time. I suppose needs must for that race but didnt like the format personally, it played right into Yamaha/Jorge early pace abilities. Would have liked to have seen a wider window giving the teams the ability to work out the best strategy for their bikes and riders. Onwards and upwards, Motegi this weekend, you would think Honda will win at its own track but which Honda
  4. By all accounts Philip Island has recently had some resurfacing, increasing overall speed, added with some hotter weather than expected adding to still more increased speed, the tyres supplied would not have lasted a race distance by a long shot and therefore would have put the riders in danger. Personally i think it was a massive >>>> up on Bridgestones part and although i would not like to see any riders injured those boys are at the top of the game should be able to adjust accordingly and whilst ever it was entertaining to watch the stops i think it would have been far more entertaining to see full race distance. Also think its very odd that the number of laps permitted was so strict, at least give a 4 lap window or something and a whilst Honda/Marquez made an error there is no denying that, a full black flag, why not just a drive through, like for jumping the start? Even Pedrosa was expected to hand back a place due to pitlane speeding, but no black flag, what was the difference, they both broke the rules? Interesting how F1 & MotoGp differ, would be very unlikely that a black flag is handed out in F1, drive through, investigated after the race and grid penalties for next race, but very rarely, your off end off.
  5. I personally think when people scrimp on tyre descriptions, just stating widths etc, they are usually cheapies. I guess you never know.
  6. It was actually Hondas fault, they had decided that the extra lap didnt count as it was effectively still the same lap He boxed when he was told to box on the pit board Ha I'm so glad he got black flagged also his right arm looks injured as he tried to cut Lorenzo up, well done Lorenzo for giving a dirty rider what he deserves Whilst i am sure you are relishing a reply as you seem to enjoy provocative posts rather than intelligent ones, suggesting you clearly have no idea about motorsport, particularly if you think Marquez is dirty ironically you think Vettel isnt
  7. Thought a few might find this interesting after the last few threads, with some 550+ comments if you can be bothered to read all of them which i didnt, i managed about 8 pages http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=28668

  9. Good description but will probably get RT saying its not heavy compared to a Hummer or something, using his logic! Wasn't logic its called perspective You have a twisted perspective if you do not class Wolfrace as neither cheap or heavy
  10. Huge **** up by Bridgestone in my opinion, whilst the bike swap was fun to watch, i dont think it represented who was actually fastest and suited George well, not to take anything away from him, he won what and did what he had to do. Bad mistake by Honda or Marq, whom ever seems to be responsible. Actually had my money on Danni this weekend, he seemed to have the best pace on the hard tyre Marq still holds a healthy advantage and can cruise for a 3rd in both races if need be, although i am sure thats not his style.

    DPE Wheels

What sort of weight are these wheels? I see in your other thread you mention you want a set of lightweight wheels for track and look good for shows. Its very much going to be a happy medium at that point imho, especially if your looking at 19's.
  12. Good description but will probably get RT saying its not heavy compared to a Hummer or something, using his logic!
  13. When it comes to Wolrace i am afraid those points are fact, regardless of how much they cost compared to earnings and however you want to try and justify it with some twisted sense of logic, they are probably the cheapest and heaviest on the market which is nothing to do with opinion.

    DPE Wheels

I dont think it makes any difference what the car is worth, the modern way these days seem to be to modify and return to standard before selling so some of the investment is returned and if you buy quality it will always be desirable and worth good money. It wouldnt be my choice as if i had an extra £10k or there abouts in my pocket i would buy something else anyway and i think the same effect can be achieved for less but admire the op if he does go down the dpe route, very dedicated
  15. I have no idea how someone is fully adept with ebay enough to advertise would not look to see what other Rays are selling for and price accordingly?
  16. Buy 2nd hand and they will be very nearly worth what you paid when you come to sell them For example http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77055-volk-gts-alloys-19-inch/ or http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77098-19-volks-sf-winnings/
  17. I have polished lips and spend no time at all polishing, they were polished at a shop, decent products applied and now all i do is wash and drive
  18. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SET-OF-4-18-RAY-LITE-RAYS-ALLOYS-WITH-TYRES-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/151144591036?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&fits=Model%3A350+Z&hash=item2330eb6ebc
  19. Why would they suit a £20k Audi or Vauxhall and not a £5k Zed I think there will be more and more chavvy Zeds about, just have to get used to the fact Sent from the Jaaaaaag at the golf club YAAAARRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPP Certainly hope not, that is why i moved out of Rx7's, i am watching the early warning signs that i missed on the rotary clubs, lessons learned and all that One good thing with Zeds however is you will not classic insurance on them for quite some time, because Rx7's were older and if over 25 you could get cheaper insurance, not many chavs can afford to insure a group 20 car
  20. Personally for me a wheel makes or breaks the whole look of a car. Get it wrapped and put something nasty on and the money spent on the wrap goes out the window. I would be getting wheels before a wrap Wolfrace = chavved up Saxo/106 and very Max Power as a company!
  21. I posted before i googled........... May look ok on some kind of suv thing, but not a Zed
  22. I dont think any sort of actual colour works, bronze, black etc excluded as they are not really a colour, unless it is offset by a decent polished lip
  23. Shocking wheels if you ask me, but if your on a budget and you like the style, what does it matter?
  24. So long and short of it is, you are suggesting Rotas are an alternative? Sorry buddy, i am being pedantic The op is asking what these wheels are worth, imo it makes no difference what a set of Rotas can be bought for, its like saying i can buy sparkling wine for less than champagne
  25. I think the suggestion of Rota's wasn't as a alternative to Volks, it was that because of Rota's these will either take longer to sell or force a lower price. Which was in line with the OP's question. Personally i have no idea why Rota even plays a part in the price of these, they are not Rotas and that is a very good reason to want to pay a premium, unless of course they are being suggested as an alternative?
