Your right there, Willys is the original Jeep

I would imagine somewhere like Spa or Silverstone the GT would be way quicker just because of the aero, i know they were all pretty close but seeing as the Lotus is pretty much designed for the circuit rather than modified from a road car, i would have thought it would have been the fastest, i guess thats what comes from putting on a couple of hundred kilos from the original and staying manual, despite the power, i cant think a sport 380 would be that far behind at 40% less.

Good watch Amg for me even before the laptime and a £100k for an Exige
-
Personally thats just rwd, nothing to do with power, you could do the same in a Mx5 if you are completely ham footed.

You have too many pockets and too many projects

So the weekend is almost up, is it done yet?

I once had a friend fall foul of this, they presume the more money you have to spend, the wiser you should be so dont need the same levels of protection. I also have had a friend with a similar issue to you with Porsche, the dealership refused to accept the car back for varying issues he had, paint, infotaintment, seat. He went down every route you have including the financial ombudsmen, they rejected his claim but his finance company then took it up on his behalf, they were independent of Porsche and managed to get his money back and have the dealer take the car back, i dont like the sound of thew finance company being owned by Nissan, i am sure thats a conflict of interests when it comes to you getting it rejected, best of luck, although it does sound you have all the facts in your corner, hope it doesnt go to court.

^^^ I was going to mention the above, there is no direct offence or road traffic law for "middle lane hogging", it comes under careless driving and although the above is factual, its going to be a lot harder for Police to prosecute for careless driving sadly. with a little bit of reading apparently as of September 2016 only 135 people have been charged with the offence, so less than 50 people a year. Personally it deserves its own separate offence and with smart motorways now in place, prosecutions should be a doddle, just like speed cameras. -
Not sure if you want specific first hand photos, but saw this this year.......... The only injury, a dislocated shoulder at 200mph plus And this last year.... Believe it or not, no injuries to note.

Just simply educated would be a start!!! Its should be part of the test although i believe from this year learners are now allowed on mways with an improved instructor with dual controls, problem is we have decades and decades of drivers with no clue. -
Just bare in mind and i no way wish to sound condescending, you may have the budget to buy, but do you have have the budget to upkeep, clutch £800, brakes £400, tyres £400+, ved £250 or more pending on model, least of all 20-25mpg as examples of costs you might have to spend for consumables, so worst case scenario thats £2k give or take in possibly the first year of ownership without factoring in insurance and possible mechanical failures (i only mention this as you say your at college). All that said a great car and if you buy the right one all the costs above should be covered, but still worth considering what it may or will cost to maintain over a few years.

^^ Dont get me wrong, i personally like whatever i am driving to look good at least to me, i dont really care what anyone else thinks though, but it has to tick a few other boxes too. The only real exception to that was the VX, not a good looking car at all, although i did think it had something about it.

Nissan Officially Confirms New Z Car - 07.09.18
Jetpilot replied to hmale4yu's topic in 370z General
^^^ You are on the money, the new Juke is way way more important to Nissan than a 370z replacement, its a model that sells in high volume and they need to be competitive in that market place, apart from the new Supra, what else has the 370z got to compete with, thats why it wont be a priority. -
Silly numbers wont make for a good track toy reign it in and be conservative..... hang on, ive just realised who i said that to

Pretty sure from my time with a Mk1 BBR and being on mx5nutz forum a Mini Cooper eaton m45 supercharger is a common retro fit and for a man of your skills, would like to think it will be done by next weekend
-
Those some people and yourself wouldnt buy a Lotus then or shouldnt, if you want quality buy a Posrche or whatever else, if you want pure driving experience you will forgo the odd niggle like that dude in the video. Seems you are more worried about looks and what everyone thinks of the looks!

Nissan Officially Confirms New Z Car - 07.09.18

The same dude also gave an interview at Goodwood re the GTR replacement, again, there was no confirmation to anything, might be hybrid, might not etc, the only confirmation was its coming at some point and would be pretty sure the new GTR will be their focus as its their premium model which has a huge cult following and there is no confirmed date for release yet, so i suspect a 370z to be a while after that and if its not on the design table now, there is no chance of a 2020 release date, especially if they are updating the 370z for 2019, they just wouldnt bother if a new one was imminent. I will make you a bet, if its released in 2020 i will buy you one, after that you buy me one? -
A Catherham 7 is right up there, but its even more focused than an Exige (lack of roof, boot, windscreen, relative comfort etc) so its only ever going to be a toy for very occasional road blasts and proper track work, as Mike has said, its no problem to use an Exige on the road, if you just wanted a serious track toy, a Caterham would be a lot of peoples choice. I agree a car has to look good (well in my eyes), but it has to tick a few more boxes, i am not interested in a car just for how it looks. Seems most would agree, you dont buy a Lotus for build quality, comfort etc, its ALL about performance/handling, if you happen to like the look its just a bonus, so a Porsche is always going to offer more in that department and so it should its more expensive on the most part. As Ilokigal says, what ball game do you want to play, what you after looks, performance, build quality and what sort of driving do you do, daily, track work, weekend fun? A mate of mine has a DB11, it is absolutely superb, perhaps a good few years back quality wasnt all that, but its a very different story in more recent years imho and no one i know spending that sort of money would expect anything less, handmade or not!

Nissan Officially Confirms New Z Car - 07.09.18
Jetpilot replied to hmale4yu's topic in 370z General
Its the same over here judging by some of the posts, £23k for base model and £30k ish for a Nismo, guessing they just have a load of stock they need shifting and realise not many people are going to pay full retail for an old model design and tech, not really sure it suggests a new model is imminent, if they are now "confirming" a new Z car i suspect its a least 4-5 years away so they need to get rid of the 370z backlog. -
I was looking at Evoras the other day and was absolutely shocked to find out to get in the right one would cost 60-70k, so absolutely agree, mind you Exiges arent any better imho, i have no idea how an extruded aluminium tub and Toyota V6 has got so expensive, but if someone held a gun to my head, I wouldnt hesitate to choose the Evora out of the two. Worryingly i also agree with Ekona, if you are buying an Exige for practicality, looks or purely road use its wasted, unless you plan on smashing round a track on a regular basis, which is the only place you will get to experience just how much the Exige has to offer i wouldnt bother, if you just want practicality and speed buy a GTR,

Rich at Wrap and Tint Worx has done two of my cars and another couple of forum members, he is very good and very reasonably priced, but, you will need the patience of a saint, expect the car back at least a week later than he says it will be ready.

All depends on the date of first registration in Japan.
-
When importing a car, you get a Japanese deregistration document, amongst other things that document will tell you, year of manufacturer and date of first registration in Japan and as Codel says, when that info is transferred to the V5, it will give date of first registration in Japan and date of first registration in the UK, the plate is nothing to do with year of manufacturer, and unless you have the de reg document (dvla will have a copy) the plate is based on the Japanese date of first registration, so either the guy who filled out the form did it wrong, unlikely as dvla require and check all the documents or it was first registered in Japan in 2010. As Ekona says, its worth checking with Nissan, phone the parts department (try Westover Nissan they are good), make up a part you need, headlight, bumper whatever and give them your chassis code, they will be able to tell you the year of manufacturer from it.
