Hi Guys,
Just a word of warning there are going to be closures etc over the weekend for the Dartford Bridge especially in you a coming south of the Thames
I live in Essex but I will be at Girlfriends in Hastings so I will be meeting daughter & future son in law near Chatham in Kent ad using the M25 clockwise towards M3 pick up M40 it will still take according to the RAC Route Planner roughly the same time of just over 2 hours.
So I looks like a 4.00am start for me !
Tom
Good heads-up Tom, just had a look and it re-opens at 05.30hrs Sunday morning so hopefully should be ok, we are joining it from the A2

Two of us (2 x Z's) one Roadster one mildly modded tin-top will be going through the Dartford Crossing at about 5.45am. Were going a tad later but think we will get caught in traffic the later we leave it.

What an anti climax
Yep, part of me wanted a happy ending ............ oh hang on, that's something else. Really, I wanted it to be nothing but secretly part of me wanted to find something....

I did wonder but the smell so resembled weed it was uncanny. Now the smell has gone, I miss it !!!More likely to be the smell of mould/damp in the old roof.
Even if you left a bud of a amsterdams finest in the open for more than a week or two. 99% of the smell would disappear.
-
Problem resolved............
I really would love to tell you it was weed or a tarts knickers but it was neither. I recently had the roof changed from the original vinyl to a Mohair. For a while after the new one was fitted, the smell remained but over the weeks, it has pretty much disappeared, so, over three years of the weed smell which was getting stronger and the roof was getting older, I think it was omitting a stronger smell with age, bit like chees does but this smelt of weed. I think it impregnated the carpets a bit but this has now gone as I'm using the car at every opportunity with the (new) roof down. I'm a little sad that the weed turned out to be knackered old vinyl but I have learned quite a bit about how the interior of a Nissan 350Z is held together seeing as I took most of it out in my search for my Acapulco Gold.............. thanks for the comments and amazing knowledge about pot

I have done the sniff test myself a few times but just cant pin-point where its coming from. The smell goes away as soon as the roof is down .Put it up, leave for an hour, stir, then the smell is back. Have tried the bit under the tray and had the sub out etc but that's as far as i've gone. Last owner had an X5 before this then moved on to a Range Rover.............

Actually going to Germany soon and Le Mans in June (although probably go in the van). I'm going to spend a couple of hours at the weekend taking it to bits. Imagine getting stopped at Dover and having the car searched and them finding a stash................
-
Ha ha !! had a good laugh at some of the comments. I have had a good look but not taken any trim off yet. Am slightly concerned if I do get stopped though. Anyone know a Police handler with a sniffer dog I can borrow ????

I have a 2005 UK Roadster. It smells of cannabis but we don't smoke it. I thought it was the roof but we had it changed and it still niffs. Its not unpleasant but people think we have been smoking in it ! Does anyone else have this ?

I missed the meal, (as did a few of you by the sound of it) I got chatting to a few friends who were there with the S.E.L.N.K. TVR Club. Just spoken to one of them and they all got served in good time and no ****-ups. Anti-Jap Racist staff ......................

likewise, thank-you Martin.
If having one in June, please if possible avoid 18th - 19th as some of us are going to the 24-Heures Du Man. Oh yes...........
Sorry couldn't stay for lunch but had to visit my mother. Sounds like there was a problem ?

Taking your car is a big thing for thousands of fans. I'm becoming a bit of an old git now and like to sleep in my van, plug a domestic fridge in and glamp a bit. The first half dozen or more times we went, we drove down in Toyota Supras then progressed to other cars. Never traken the 350Z yet and this year is a possibility...........nice in the Roadster. Just be careful of the French Cops.

Took one photo with my phone all day. Quickly did a panoramic shot as we walked to the trade area. Not the best photo in the world but shows the good turn-out of the 350Z's which I think was the biggest one model turn-out ? Impressive.
