Hi Kev, Thanks for the question and it's not quite that straightforward. I believe if you are buying a Category C or D Total Loss then the purchase price will be significantly less at the outset than a non-written off one. So if it is again stolen or written off the settlement figure will reflect that reduced valuation. It can't reasonably be expected by the purchaser to be indemnified for an amount in excess of what the vehicle is worth. That's effectively the insurance 'contract' - placing the insured in the same position they were following an accident as they were pre-accident. I hope that this helps. Dan

Hi there, Thanks for advising and I would have thought that commuting would also encompass SD&P if the options are as you mention. Commuting being of course a more risky proposition if you are travelling on generally busier roads at peak times. Hi, Yes I think you would struggle to obtain affordable insurance at the moment for this type of vehicle. With regards to short term cover I'm not aware of any of the short term providers that would probably offer cover. Regards, Dan.

Distance covered on track would still count towards your limited mileage. I appreciate the insurance does not cover for track use but there is no practical way of proving what mileage was done where etc. Regards Dan i guess i just take pictures and record the dates just incase then. Also im not sure who the girl was i was speaking to but was she talking from a script when telling here about the uprev she kept asking me what stage my ca rwas mapped to was it stage 1 or stage 2 or 3 etc she couldn't quite grasp that this isnt a golf or a focus with a revo tune Unfortunately not all of our staff are car enthusiasts. Whilst not every member of staff may have the exact knowledge of a specific vehicle they will have access to supervisors / team leaders who would be able to assist in quoting the risk correctly. Would you insure an 03 Jdm zed as a classic? Full Classic Car Insurance is based on more than just vehicle age. There are various other factors such as it being a second vehicle, garaged, limited mileage, social domestic and pleasure use only etc. Regards Dan What if those factors were Second Vehicle garaged ( would on a private drive count or is it only classed as classic if locked up) 3,000 miles a year and only for SDP sorry for the off topic If you wanted to drop me a PM I'd be happy to arrange a quotation for you.
