  1. Jet washing is fine, so long as your technique is. Don’t work perpendicular to the surface, don’t get too close and obviously stay miles away from anything that’s rusting/bubbling/peeling. There’s no need to run a PW at super high pressure, it won’t lift stubborn grime even point blank, you’ll need to get hands on for that, so there’s no point trying to blast it off.
  2. Ooooh, I need some new MFs, will give these a shot
  3. Keep it reasonable on this thread please. Calling any member an idiot isn’t on @Dal123, when it’s someone with that level of knowledge and experience of Zs, you’re at risk of embarrassing yourself.

  5. I've had my eye on this, quite literally, since I test drove the BRZ. The monstrosity of a high level brake light blocks about 85% of the view out the rear, helpfully there is a solution. This little guy. Testing the LEDs. I did test in the boot first but wanted to make sure the frustration of lying upside down, in the rear of a coupe, in 50 degree heat and losing my rag at least once, didn't have an impact. All done and dusted, nice and clean and I can finally see out the back to keep an eye on the heavy Zeds behind disappearing away. Easy install, if you don't consider the trim clip, which bravely gave it's life for the greater good. Remember kids, safety mods can be fun too.
  6. My first time being mentioned in the same breath as Obi Wan ilogikal1 - I just want to thank the academy, the fans... For me, to clean it, just some diluted apc sprtized on a soft micro fibre towel, wipe on, flip, wipe off. To dress it, I’ve got a bit of C6 Matte Dash knocking about which I think is decent enough. But await The Oracle before spending any money just yet...
  7. Due to house moves, job change, general life getting the way stuff I've not done a mod on the BRZ for an eternity, but tonight the stars aligned. My tools came out of storage, the weather was good, there was no World Cup and I remembered to bring home my recent package from across the pond. Perfect. Now you all know by now that I don't go in for the frivolous modding business, wasting your hard earned on bits and pieces of performance and bling. So when I get the allen keys out, you know it's preventative maintenance or safety related. This is both. I've noticed a bit of a rattle from the stick area at high revs and the other day the gear position badge popped off. So I decided to deal with matters, before maintenance it turned into a serious safety issue. Tired old nob, well thumbed, quite greasy and not all that satisfying to hold. I picked up this luuurrrveerrrrly bit of kit from Raceseng in the US, yeah you get stung on shipping and taxes, but it's two gorgeous pieces of machine work. Hopefully my rattles are gone and I'll enjoy the feel of a heftier, more bulbous nob for years to come. Some of you may notice that I failed to get my sheath back in position before the money shot, I was just a bit too excited and the camera just went off in my hand before I had time to withdraw.

  9. Approved as they’re free. Please include a piece of paper with your username in pics when doing For Sale ads.
  10. Do love an Aston but that mouth is huuuuuge!
  11. Get a grip or it's points all around. There's a report button for stuff that you think is OTT, you don't need to take people to task if you think they're out of line. Thread tidied.
  12. Things I have handy to use: chainsaw pressure washer raspberry pi knackered fridge freezer. None of these are working
  13. There’s a wide selection of ingenious, resourceful people on the forum, not to mention a load of you who know how to break things. I got rid of some unwanted gates at Stutopia Towers, but now I’m stuck with these. They need to go. Any ideas better than just dremelling them off to a razor sharp stub?
  14. Check the ribbon is reconnected properly. If it isn’t it’s likely been damaged in the remove/reinstall process.
  15. Save yourself the pain of a drying phase, IIRC @ilogikal1 has one of the cool inline filters which means the water can be left to evaporate. It’s right up on my shopping list for my new place.
  16. I've gone off the one on my BRZ, once they scratch, it's there until you're brave enough to wetsand.
  17. I got one of these to save my back, if your surface is flat and pot hole free, its dead easy to shuffle around on the wheels. https://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/slims-fully-adjustable-multi-shaped-car-creeper-z-l-shaped.html
  18. If a regular two bucket wash was too punishing for me, I’d take the pain of doing it thoroughly one time and then get the Wetcoat on to naked(ish) paint for the best possible bond. After that, if it’s too much to wash, you can top up the wetcoat after each snowfoam and rinse, just using your pressure washer. It’s not ideal, but you’ve got constraints you’ve got to work within.
